Discovering Baltimore With An Inner Harbor Quick Escape
Every seasoned traveler knows the drill. Finding the right hotel that feels like a second home but doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket can be challenging. Especially when traveling with family or for work. On my latest trip to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, I stumbled upon a convenient base for exploration.
Where Comfort Meets Convenience: Inner Harbor Quick Escape
Just two blocks away. That’s how close the Hampton Inn & Suites is to the heart of Inner Harbor. Envision a historic landmark converted into a boutique-style hotel with an impressive 7th-floor atrium. A place where roomy accommodations merge with warm (allergen-free) breakfasts and a welcoming indoor pool beckons for relaxation.
For all the tech-savvy travelers and remote workers, this conveniently located hotel offers high-speed internet that won’t let you down.
Inner Harbor: Perfectly Situated for Foot Travel
Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is genuinely a walker’s paradise. Choosing to stay on Redwood Street? Even better. Leave the ride-hailing apps behind because, at the Hampton Inn & Suites, you’re perfectly situated to explore by foot. You can get to all of the Baltimore Inner Harbor attractions and history with ease, and the unmistakable Baltimore aura is right there on your doorstep.
What’s more, this isn’t some generic conference hub. Families, especially those with kids and 30-somethings traveling for work, frequently opt for this location, seeking that Baltimore essence. (You are also so close to Ms. Shirley’s Cafe for lunch or brunch, and you don’t want to miss it)
Valet Parking: Easy Arrivals
Arriving with more luggage than anticipated? Not a problem! Hand them over, trust the valet with your vehicle, and dive straight into your Baltimore experience. Just a hint: notify the valet around 20 minutes prior if you plan to head out – they appreciate the heads up!
If you arrive early, they can stash your luggage, and you can start your tour of the Inner Harbor area of Baltimore ASAP!
Also, if you want my genuine opinion, the valet parking is touch and go if you have to take your car out frequently. It’s not the staff; it’s the time of arrival and the time that everyone decides at once they want to come and go, so it is unpredictable chaos.
After we attempted this a few times, we decided walking was better, and we took an Uber back because the valet does become a bit of a hassle, significantly when busy and not always staffed up to par (that was during my stay, yours may differ!)
I can’t plan my day around waiting extra time to get a car; I have to keep moving, so this was my primary takeaway and, hopefully, help you.
Where the Streets Are Made for Walking
Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is the epitome of a walker’s paradise. And staying on Redwood Street? Even better. Wave goodbye to those ride-hailing apps because everything’s within walking distance once you’re at the Hampton Inn & Suites.
If it’s not within walking distance, the Baltimore Inner Harbor water taxi will get you where you need to go, so use it, we did (but that’s in another article I wrote). Think attractions, history, and that irresistible Baltimore charm.
Plus, you’re not the only family grooving to this beat. This isn’t some dull convention hotel (I am sure it can be, but not when we were there); instead, it was definitely a hotspot for families seeking the ultimate Baltimore experience.
Front Desk: Your Inner Harbor Guide
Whether you need directions to navigate the Charm City Bus or crave insights into the best dining spots, the front desk team is your Baltimore encyclopedia. A special mention to Christian, whose hospitality game is on point (again, if there is different staff, they are all well poised at customer service, so I am sure you will find what you need by inquiring)
Kickstart Your Mornings
Meet John, the breakfast aficionado. He ensures everyone greets the morning with a satisfying meal regardless of dietary preferences. Fancy waffles? They’re served hot and fresh. Curious about ingredients? John’s always ready to help.
Now if John isn’t there, I am sure any other employee will be just as kind, but he was worth mentioning as he was a gem!
The Hampton Inn & Suites Offers A 24/7 Beverage Station
Craving coffee at odd hours? Or perhaps an afternoon tea? The Hampton Inn & Suites guarantees you won’t be disappointed. Their lounge, continually stocked with warm beverages, is a sanctuary for those needing a caffeine fix.
This is better than having to splurge on an over-priced coffee elsewhere, so enjoy this and find other great things to spend on during your Inner Harbor quick escape.
Fun Awaits The Pool Area Of The Baltimore Inner Harbor Lodging
Tucked away on the lower level, the pool area is ideal for a refreshing break. And for those sudden workout urges, a well-equipped fitness center awaits next door.
We have noted that in some recent reviews, the pool is not as nice as it was during our stay, so heed the reviews but know on a good day, it’s a wonderful place to take a dip and cool off, especially when the humidity just is too much to take! My kids loved it there, and so did I.
Your Inner Harbor Quick Escape Offers A Stay with a Scene
Expect bright and breathable spaces. Yes. Spotless bathrooms and flooring? Absolutely. Did I feel dirty after sleeping here and staying? No. Are the towels nice? Yes. Was there plenty of toilet paper and amenities? Yes.
Did I feel like the overall room was clean? Yes. Did it have a grand view? Not another building is right across the way, but I wasn’t there for the view but for the location.
But, as I alluded to in the heading, there is quite the scene if you nab a room by the atrium.
Pro Tip: For those who nab a room by the atrium, prepare for some enviable views—completely Instagram-worthy, IMO.
Exploration: Your Inner Harbor Quick Escape In on Your Doorstep
Step outside, and you’re right in the thick of things. The Inner Harbor has everything from age-old vessels to distinctive stores, not to mention an array of dining choices. Many bars with tempting mixes are at your disposal for the evening crowd.
Check a few of the “allies,” which are not alley-ways but an excellent place for your Inner Harbor quick escape escapades where you will find fabulous bars and food; there’s one a few blocks out of your hotel that we loved. It’s almost like you have escaped to Europe while dining there!
Tourism abounds to your left, right, and side to side; it is up to you to navigate, walk, retreat, and repeat! You’ll be able to discover and uncover the Baltimore area with an Inner Harbor quick escape because your Baltimore Inner Harbor Lodging is so convenient you can explore a bit and stop and then start again.
