Not only have we suffered through a harsh winter, but the summer has also been quite punishing with wicked storms. Our wooded lot has succumbed to the storms’ damage. We have lost trees from too much water in the summer and the harsh and crippling temperatures.
Since the winter is long gone and the summer storms have now stopped, we have begun our cleanup process. Admittedly it takes a lot of time and effort to keep up a yard. I have to tell you that having the best gas-like 40V brushless battery chainsaw outdoor power tool makes a huge difference.
We worked our yard over, week after week, and cleaned up all of the debris. Then, we worked on a full yard overhaul. Our full yard overhaul included cutting up dead trees, limbs, and brush in order to move them out of the way!
For this DIY, we are headed to my yard. It’s time to rid it of debris. We are using the best gas-like 40v brushless battery chainsaw for cutting trees and limbs. I can’t wait to share this with you so read on!
Best Gas-Like 40V Brushless Battery Chainsaw for Cutting Trees and Limbs
*While RYOBI Landscapes provided me this product to try. Images and content are based on my experience through our DIY outdoor chores. Definitely read on because what I learned is sure to help others out there, looking for a non-commercial chainsaw for home use!
Somewhere between chaos and mayhem, or should I say, snow, sleet, ice, freezing temperatures, flooding storms and torrential downpours our yard just fell apart. The resulting issues were trees down.
I’m going, to be honest, gas-powered tools are not my favorite outdoor tools. Why? Every time I go for one of our gas-powered tools, someone has run them down and not replenished. This factor is so annoying.
Compare this to getting into a car that the last person who used it did not fill up! Empty does not let you get things done or get you there!
The issue is that I have to stop what I am doing, run to the closest gas station to get more gas and then return home. By the time I get back (because we don’t live close to anything), I am too tired to finish what I started.
You see my body has now gone into relax mode. Guess what happens next? The chores do not get finished because I have to call it a day! I am about to change this whole scenario because I am going to use a gas-like tool instead!
Best Gas-Like Brushless Chainsaw
Our latest outdoor power tool is quite obviously from RYOBI Power Tools because you know my affinity towards their products! Check out our new 14 in. 40-Volt Brushless Lithium-Ion Cordless Battery Chainsaw ! The timing could not have been better as debris needs cleared!
Why would I want to run a chainsaw with a battery? One thing I know for certain is, we charge our batteries without exception. Our huge collection of RYOBI Power Tools require 40 V Lithium-Ion batteries and we keep them charged!
Since we never know what outdoor task we are about to get into when we wander to our backyard, we need to always be prepared for anything. Thus, our batteries are always charged (dare I curse our trend and state this, lol!).
You can find the RYOBI 14 in. 40 Volt Brushless Lithium-Ion Cordless Battery Chainsaw at Home Depot. Don’t pass on it because it is battery-driven. You would be totally missing a yard care problem solver that I believe every homeowner should have in the shed!
The Process – Before You Cut
Make sure to wear your hard hat, gloves, workboots, earplugs and safety glasses and keep your hair pulled back when using a chainsaw. Watching Michael tackle this job I noted that there is a variable speed trigger for user control, so he can work it faster and slower as needed, to move through the trunk and thick branches.
When he cut the tree down, it was fast, and then he used it to chunk it up, as I call it, into smaller pieces. This whole process went quickly and before you knew it we were done!
Really the saw is quiet and cuts with such ease and precision. Unlike those really noisy gas power saws, I doubt any of our neighbors knew we were cutting down a tree! #Truth
Let’s Put It To The Test – Team Vento #DIY
Michael is my everything when it comes to yard work. I do my stuff, he does his, and together we are Team Vento DIY! However, since some jobs are best left for him and because he favors his RYOBI Power Tools, I just let those jobs for him!
What made me sick was the death of our 2-year-old tree. We originally planted it to gain privacy but it seems that our plan was not gonna work! Unfortunately, due to the weather and the roots of a very large tree, it died.
It is time to say goodbye and cut this tree up. The only saving grace is that we have an incredible outdoor power tool by a brand we truly love, RYOBI Power Tools.
We are now going to see how the RYOBI 40V Brushless Chainsaw works. Did you know that the RYOBI 40-Volt Brushless Chainsaw has fast cutting speed as well as a higher torque (the kind you get in a gas saw)?
Now for the untimely demise of our tree, but it will be painless because it is processed quickly.
Really Is It That Light?
Just out of curiosity, I wanted to see how heavy it was. After all, I am going to tackle some of my own ‘want to cleanup’ list when he is not around! Behind our shed is a mess and his time is limited due to a rigorous work schedule, rather than ask him to do it, I am going back there and cutting up anything I can.
WOW, what a surprise, the chainsaw is light! Hardly does it feel like the clunky gas one we used to have! I am going to be able to wield the power of the RYOBI 40-Volt Brushless Chainsaw with ease.
Truly it is powerful, cuts well is easy to use, and it feels sturdy in the hands.
Why Consider the RYOBI 40-Volt Brushless Chainsaw?
The RYOBI 40-Volt Brushless Chainsaw is light to use and carry around the yard. Of course, I would be remiss if I did not mention that I no longer need to buy, or store oil and gas for a chain saw. No need to drive away from my home in the middle of getting stuff done because we are OUT of oil or gas!
Then, there’s the incredible 40V battery. After working for about 1 hour + we had almost depleted the battery, so we are getting on average about 65-70 minutes out of a charge. No problem, because it charges fast and we have a backup battery (buy one, we did!).
One other thing about not being gas-driven that I forgot to mention. I hate trying to power up, fire-up however you want to refer to starting a Gas power saw. You can never be sure it will start or if you are gonna have the strength to make it start (my arms only do so much in a day!). The battery takes that fear factor right out!Make Your Own RYOBI Landscape Story
I’d be remiss in my story if I did not mention the value of your purchase. Consider the number of trees you clean up after each season. If you have to hire a tree company you can end up with a bill starting in the $1000’s.
Those with wooded lots truly will appreciate the value of having the right power tool on hand and being able to use it on-call because of a charged battery rather than no gas in the tank! While it’s not a commercial chainsaw, it truly is a workhorse of a power tool from RYOBI Power Tools!
Last, as I mentioned, it is quiet, and if you want to get to work early on a Sunday morning, I don’t believe most people will hear this. It’s just not loud! What is your RYOBI Landscape story? DO you own this power tool? Leave me a comment telling me how you use yours! ~ Dana XO
