Bike Rental In Avon With Island Cycles

Traveling and packing are their own little parts of the trip that can actually create a bit of havoc ahead of time.  As we got ready to head to the Outer Banks I needed to decided exactly how much ‘stuff’ I was going to haul with us.

I already knew that our rental home was going to be fully stocked other than food, so I was not going to tote the entire contents of my home to another.  I wanted to keep this as easy as possible and that meant not bringing a few things with us that we could actually rent instead.

For this trip, we decided we were going to just rent bikes rather than load them on the car and have to haul them along.  I packed us up from top to bottom, loaded the kids and took off.  Here’s how to lavishly live bike rental in Avon with Island Cycles.

Bike Rental In Avon With Island Cycles

Part of my decision to not pack bicycles was due to the fact that my husband would not be with us on this trip.  As I took this trip solo, it was me alone with the kids and it was a bit more challenging to have to pack and unpack everything, so I definitely did not overdo the packing.  As for the Outer Banks, there is so much to do there, and once people are in their villages they stay there and bike and walk everywhere since things are so convenient.

Once we checked into our beach home, we then headed over to Island Cycles and met up with Jill.  Jill knows her bikes inside and out and if you can tell her what you want to do with your bike she can match you up. Tell Jill what kind of riding you will be doing, and she will make sure your bike meets your needs.

This is the sign you are looking for, it’s physical address is 41074 NC-12, Avon, NC 27915.  If you rented from Hatteras Realty, you are about 500 feet apart, so this makes it really convenient.

All bikes have the Island Cycles shop number on them, just in case you get caught with a chain not working or a flat tire, you can call, and I love that feature!  In addition to being able to rent bikes, there are helmets, and bike locks as well, so don’t worry about hauling anything you can rent it!

The Island Cycles shop also has Kayak rentals and delivery if you so want it to just appear at your home, so request it(this is a paid for service, but nonetheless makes it quite easy to start your vacation!)

The paperwork is minimal, do bring your Driver’s License and a credit card and then be prepared to have lots of fun.  My kids tested out a few different bikes and Jill was so kind and accommodating, she even suggested that one of my boys trade out the one he had chosen as she had found a better fit, she is really all about making sure things are right for you.

Island Cycles has been around for over 20 years. They have quite a selection of bikes something for everyone. One thing you will note when you rent a bike from Island Bicycle is that each of the tires are different colors. This allows you to distinguish your bike from other bikes that you might park around, and this is a great feature.

Island Cycles is convenient to everything and right in the heart of Avon, North Carolina.

The hours are great, and the staff is friendly.  We would absolutely rent our bikes with Island Cycles again when we visit the Outer Banks as it is too much effort to haul bikes and unload them, this is just making traveling that much more relaxing, by taking that monkey off your back! Lavishly live your vacation in the Outer Banks out loud and enjoy Bike Rental In Avon With Island Cycles!
We were provided bike accommodations. Opinions and story are my own.

    Hey Dana Vento

    So Helpful Share!!!
Now if I knew how to ride a bike I’d definitely do this if I had the chance and was in the area. My daughter would love to do this though. She’s the bike rider in the family.

Renting bikes is fun. We did it at Mackinac once and had a blast.

I love this service, whenever we go to the park, we just rent a bike for our son. Great thing that there are bike rentals in this place.

I loved reading your experience. We have bike rentals here in the Philippines but only in the park. I still have to see one like this.

That’s neat that you’re able to rent a bike there. I don’t even own a bike, but I would like to have one. I use to go bike riding when I was younger all the time. Now it’s time to start going with my girls.

I love it when there’s places to rent equipment such as bikes and kayaks so I don’t have to worry about packing it myself. Even though it costs extra to rent them it really saves you in the long run.

We have a small island like that in our home state and one of our favorite activities is to rent bikes for exploring.

Very few resorts or places do this and it’s nice to know that you have that option here. I love biking with my girls and it’s so fun especially when you’re in a new place you’ve never explored before! This is so much more convenient than bringing bikes!

Anytime we go anywhere there is bike rentals, we rent one for everyone. I don’t want to drag ours all over the place. I’ll have to check this bike rental out when we’re in the area because it sounds like my kind of rental place with great hours. .

What a great idea for a family to do! This is something my husband and I could do before we had our son. This would make a great date!
