On one of my most recent work trips I headed to Cape Coral, Florida, but I flew into Fort Lauderdale. Before I ever would see the sites of Cape Coral I would have to travel across the state of Florida to arrive at my destination.
My journey began inside the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 2.4 SEL 2WD, 4 Door SUV in Labrador Black and all I can say is if this car could talk what stories it would tell. 3 teens, luggage and I would travel miles up and down the Gulf Coast from Matlacha to Bokeelia, to Sanibel Island and over to Captiva and then to Marco Island all over a week!
The adventure this trip includes pushing the boundaries of driving as far as we could until the road runs out and then ‘X’ing’ destinations off of our bucket lists! Here’s my insight on my Cape Coral Adventures in a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport as I lavishly live travel out loud!
Cape Coral Adventures In A 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
While my Mitsubishi car was provided, images, and story are my own as I venture and travel throughout Florida.
The month is July and in Southwest Florida, this is the season of wet, also known as rain season. While it is far less populated during this time, the heat and humidity are over-the-top. Hello baseball caps, tank tops, and short shorts, because anything else is just a reason to rain puddles of sweat!
Our journey began out of Miami and from the moment I started the 2017 Outlander the rain pelted us. My first thoughts on the rain were a few unmentionable words, but the Outlander handled it like a champ. The monsoon rain across the 4-5 lane highways was met with an adjustable speed windshield wiper which could go really fast or head to the slower side of things for the drizzle that just kept on even the rain seemed to have stopped!
QUICK OVERVIEW OF THE 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT
Here’s my video which sums the vehicle up overall, providing you a good look at the interior, exterior and tires as well as the cool looking aluminum pedals.
DRIVING & COMFORT
This is home base, all of our adventures started from here! The Labrador Black Pearl is really a gorgeous color!
If you want to figure out how comfortable the ride is, let’ use my 6’+ tall teen son as a gauge! 1 picture sums it up for you right? We were traveling 200 miles from Miami to Cape Coral at this point, so I think the seats must have been mighty comfortable because he never falls asleep!
I am super finicky about my seat when I drive and I have to tell you no matter how many clips I put in my head, or how many ponytails were in, no issues with the headrest messing them up, so ‘enuf said!’ Pictured below is the Color LCD multi-information screen (6.1″), steering wheel (with amenities on it) and the18″ 2 Tone alloy wheels.
The distance of the pedals to my seat was fine as well since the seat was easily adjustable I could make myself comfortable. I do want to mention the headlights were set to AUTO so I never had to mess with them which was another ‘WIN’ for me as I could simply focus on navigating to and from our destinations.
CARGO TOTING FOOLS
No Vento vacation would be complete without multiple trips to the stores,
A much-needed coffee stop, and YES it was very early and we were in PJ’s -no shame here- it’s VACATION!
Did I mention the Barista laughed at me because it was so early I could not even speak and when we got to the window face-to-face I said, “were you laughing at me?” and she snorted, “YES, ” because I messed up the word Coconut Macchiato! I loved this SUV because I did not have to reach UP to get to the drive-thru window I was at the perfect height and the power windows made it easy to put up and down!
A GNO with Mini Me
…..and the unforgettable moment of how many pool rafts can we fit in the Outlander.
Perhaps the raft episode is best seen through a visual of my son hiding amongst the rafts in the cargo space!
I have to tell you that we fit 6 pieces of luggage plus 2 totes inside the cargo. Our luggage was all MID -SIZE check in pieces and a few carry-on’s and it all fit.
TRAVEL & MPG
We did phenomenal with gas mileage. We drove to what I consider remote areas, like to Bokeelia 26.7056° N, 82.1590° W and Matlacha where seeing a gas station was a sign of life and I was happy I filled up LONG before we left because they were Far and few between and at 23 MPG no worries mate!
And our adventure trip to Marco Island only an 1 hour and 1/2 away from home base, lol!
MITSUBISHI FOR TRAVEL AND FAMILIES
You too can lavishly live travel out loud inside of a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander. The MSRP of the vehicle we drove was 25,090.00, boasting 23 MPG city and 28 Highway. Room inside for up to 5, plenty of cargo and perfect for every adventure from shopping to driving to where the road ends and water begins! What will your Mitsubishi Outlander Sport adventure be?
