There’s no better way to enjoy a strawberry than when it’s drunk. A drunken berry is a delicious berry.
In this case, the best drunken berry is one chocolate covered and piped with pink and red chocolate striping, giving you all the best in taste and texture!
I will say beware of eating these divine berries as they are most addicting.
Here’s the good news, if you are looking for the perfect ‘gift’ for someone on Valentine’s Day, these are it!
My personal suggestion is to get a few extra berries so you can test and feel as happy as the berries when you are done!
Lavishly live drunken strawberries with pink and red chocolate striping out loud and enjoy these treats!
Drunken Strawberries With Pink and Red Chocolate Striping
You know the best time of the year for berries seems to be May but Valentine’s Day often has a crop that is perfect for a tease of spring.
I love finding fresh berries and then designing these fun drunken berries for a gift.
Valentine’s Day is the most romantic day of the year, and it’s true that is when I mostly use this recipe.
However, anytime you find berries and are having an adult gathering, these are the perfect addition!
Gifts that are homemade are often the nicest gifts you can give. I love chocolate covered strawberries and I know there are a lot more of ‘me’ in the world.
Strawberries against chocolate are just so, ‘yum’ for lack of a better descriptor.
These berries turn out perfect every time and honestly do not take a long time to make
. I think the bigger challenge is finding those big and beautiful berries to cover!
If you think these look delicious wait till you taste them! You will need Pipettes, these are the ones I used.
INGREDIENTS
2 pints of large ripe strawberries ( Washed, rinsed, dried )
1 cup Ghiradelli chocolate
1 cup Chardonnay (Merlot, Champagne, Amaretto, etc)
20 plastic pipette tubes
Red and pink chocolate melting wafers
METHOD
First, wash and dry your strawberries and pat dry let sit
Second, line a pan with parchment paper and line up those berries.
Take your pipettes and add your wine of choice and insert one into each strawberry
Finally, allow the berries to absorb all the wine before moving on.
Chocolate Preparation
Now, place each color of chocolate wafers into a separate bowl (chocolate)
Next, place each bowl separately into the microwave (repeating this process for each color)
For now, just melt the chocolate-colored wafers. Without delay, we are going to coat the berries.
Set Microwave to 50% power for one minute (less for the colors including white 45 seconds max)
Remove From Microwave and stir, which helps the melted chocolate.
Berry Dipping
First, dip each strawberry into the chocolate covering 3/4 of the berry
Second, place the berry back on the baking sheet to allow to dry.
Then, melt the pink and red wafers in their separate bowls per the above directions
Finally, take each berry and drizzle as you like. Enjoy and refrigerate any uneaten berries.
