Girlfriend getaways, mom and daughter time always need to include at least an hour or 2 of exceptional relaxation.
It’s hard to resist the chance to experience Halotherapy.
Glens Falls is where you will find this exceptional healing and wellness center, so you can make an appointment.
Beyond arrival, it’s about rest and relaxation, while letting the rest of the world go for at least the time during your experience.
Truly it’s pure relaxation time. The Salt Cave experience in Glens Falls is referred to differently by my daughter and myself since we experienced it.
We refer to the Salt Cave as, ‘where relaxation meets powerful salts that can provide safe and effective RELIEF for respiratory issues’ which is exactly why we decided to go.
This mom and daughter duo suffer from Asthma, anxiety, allergies, etc. Truly a must-visit destination.
Our reasons are specifically why others also seek this exact Salt Cave in the Lake George area.
Exceptional Salt Cave Experience In The Lake George Area
My thanks to Dana for providing me a hosted opportunity to experience The AdirondackSalt Cave. ~ Dana XO.
All opinions are images are my own, based on my experience.
Expect to arrive, and be treated by the masters of wellness and therapy, holistic healing.
It’s a Spa Day, unlike any other, you will experience. It’s time to get ‘salty’ you all! Go for the salt cave experience.
Asthma & Bronchitis
The Adironack Salt Cave – Exceptional Salt Cave Experience
For years, I’ve suffered from Acute Asthma. In fact, I am currently under treatment and have been for at least 20+ years.
I’ve been hospitalized, sent to the ER and recently just spent time in the ER again.
When I am not having bronchial spasms, I rejoice because when it flairs, I’m down and out.
Asthma is hard to tackle as it is extremely bad when I get ill, which also happens a lot.
Over the last 6 months, I have spent more time at the ENT and Allergist than most (over 16 visits), including one to the ER.
The wrath of Asthma, in my body, exacerbates my sinus infections, and bronchitis and my battles with pneumonia.
My constant battle during ‘sick season’ leaves me so exhausted. Now that you know this, you know why I sought out this opportunity and embraced it.
It’s a shame The Adirondack Salt Cave is not in Pittsburgh, as the owner is all-star!
Inside the Adirondack Halotherapy and Wellness Center – Exceptional Salt Cave Experience
When you walk through the doors, expect to be ‘wowed!’ I was and not much turns my head twice.
First, I saw Dana and as you all know I was waiting to meet another Dana.
Next, the seats. Bench seats with illuminated Himalayan chunks, adding to the aesthetics.
Exceptional Salt Cave Experience – The Interior Decor You Gotta See
The wellness center is situated inside of what used to be an old shirt factory.
Below find me with Dana, sorry for the Super close selfie, my arms are short!
In fact, as they renovated, the floors, they found dozens of needles from sewing machines and collected them.
Adding these pieces to a large container paying homage to the former site.
As you will saunter from the reception area to the Salt Cave, you will walk through a well-staged trip through time.
The imagery on the wall will share the process of the spa’s creation.
The artwork on the walls will grab your attention and comes from local artisans.
Exposed brick adds a chic dimension against the hardwood floors, making you wonder if it can get any better. And here’s a hint… it does!
What Is A Salt Cave?
Don’t expect to get undressed, just take off your shoes, when you enter. Your clothes stay on your body.
The salt cave room is a mix of exposed brick and bars/bricks of Himalayan salt, with backlighting.
A ‘mine’ scene inside the cave pays homage to the Adirondack area. Halotherapy is what happens inside the salt cave.
It’s a holistic approach for using the salt’s natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
The 45-minute treatment can provide relief for those suffering skin conditions (eczema) and respiratory conditions (asthma, bronchitis, sinus, etc).
Unlike so many other ‘spa’ treatments there is no need to undress. I loved that Dana tucked us each in.
She also made sure there were issues in our chairs (your nose might run and that’s a good thing!).
You can also see I had my bag with me, you can bring it or lock it up in a locker outside the doors, your choice. I wanted my camera, of course!
NO undressing necessary, as you will stay in your clothes and snug under a blanket, in a lounge chair.
Once tucked in, you will be entranced by both ‘Zen-like’ sounds and a backlit wall of Himalayan Salt Blocks.
In fact, I learned that the Owner Dana had over 7000 pounds of Himalayan blocks imported to create this room.
That is amazing and the look of the room is just magnificent, intense and cool all in one breathe.
Once situated in your chair and blanket, the lights will dim, the wall illuminates and you will hear a light background sound of the halogenerator.
The halogenerator disperses the dry salt air into this closed environment.
Over 45 minutes, you will inhale, and exhale naturally as you either sleep, close your eyes, or count the Himalayan salt bricks in front of you.
However you relax, you will breathe in the dry salt. The entire process mimics the microclimate of a salt cave.
It’s Not Just Salt – Rather An Absorbing Agent
Did you know that when you heat salt, it dries? The salt used is heated, and it is a dry pharmaceutical grade of salt.
All of the pieces are so finely crushed that they can be dispersed into the air and the closed cave environment. Amazing right?
Who would have thunk you could snort salted air, in a cave, lol.
Let’s call these particles of salt, the ‘Absorption Masters’ because once inhaled, it removes allergens and toxins throughout your respiratory tract.
Further, salt can reduce the inflammation and make it easier to breathe through your airways.
Time Well Spent
I am not a ‘sitter’ and relaxing is hard, so I will be honest, I counted all of the Salt Blocks that were illuminated, and looked at patterns, and features of each.
That’s how I relax, matching blocks, patterns, counting, all mindless tasks, yet allowing me to escape from the outside world for a while.
While Kallie and Amanda each fell asleep, we all experienced the wonderful salt cave properties.
Each in our own way, but all received the ‘Absorption Masters’ because we all breathed in and out. It’s that simple.
Since I will be returning to Lake George (the area has too much to cover in a few days), my trip will be sure to include at least ONE session at The Adirondack Salt Cave in Glens Falls.
I think the only other thing we needed was a light white wine to top it off (of course I said that!)
Whether you are flying into Albany, New York, visiting the Thurman Area, Lake George (itself) or any of the surrounding areas, you need to make an appointment here.
