A home is a great place. Is your house a home or a house?
It’s a home when your family can freely flop around and just enjoy it!
A home is where you gather and your family spends time together!
Whether you have young kids or young adults staying with you, having fun is as easy as creating fun family backyard game time.
Do you gather together outdoors after work or school and play games or grill?
In my house, we always spend Sunday night together, and enjoy our Sunday meal and then some game time.
Working from home, school from home, or leaving home to work all can be chaotic and stressful.
Using your backyard as an extended area of living is a great idea.
Adding in fun family backyard game time is even better.
In fact, this is a simple DIY that requires no more than a few games and your family gathering!
Together, your little village can relieve stress, chat up the week and look forward to the next week and whatever it might hold.
Backyard game time can happen on any day of the week, and even while you grill and chill.
Here are a few suggestions on how to create fun family backyard game time to enjoy throughout the year.
Family Backyard Game Time
Today’s products were provided, but opinions are my own, based on our own family fun and love of the games!

Stress, it’s a real burner, and can almost be as hot and bothersome as the outdoor heatwaves we get.
Coming off the job, out of Zoom calls, offline from school or in from commuting all need a stress-reliever.
What do you do to relieve stress?
You know what they say, all work and no play makes for a very boring day!
Whether you play a game alone to just focus on something other than work, school or life, or play against or as a team with your family you are sure to relieve stress!
Stepping outside is a great way to change your surroundings and your current state of mind.
The outside is fresh and offers a changing of scenery and ambiance.

Leave The Tech and Seek Backyard Game Time
In fact, stepping outside frees you of technology and calls.
Leave the phones on a table on silent, walk away from the tablets, and just be!
Unless you are taking a photo of the winner or the game, don’t use your phone.
When it’s time for family backyard game time, all phones are left on the patio.
We play and live in the moment, and it is very freeing and formative.
Being together we chat, and for those old enough, we throw a back few or sip on wine!
To that point, our neighbors literally never come out but saw us playing our games and purchased their own.
That’s saying something because, in 12 years, they have never stepped foot in their yard!
They watched us play for a few weeks, and suddenly, the same game appeared in their yard!
Family backyard game time is totally contagious and it’s something you want to catch.
Minutes together, bantering about the day and of course trash-talking (kind of) everyone else, all in fun!
Competition Brings Out The Best And Worst But Leaves the Everyday Behind
Are you a competitive person?
What are your family members like?
I mean every family I know has at least one competitive person in it, which creates the challenge.
Competition through family games, friendly or aggressive is a great way to stop thinking about work, school, and life.
Instead, it lets you move through a moment that has nothing to do with anything else.
It’s what we all need!
The family backyard games I will share with you will give you a good mix.
A mix in fact of competing against both yourself (when no one else is around) or against your family!
GoSports Gigantoss Ladder Toss Set – Game ON!
First, I am going to tell you that you need this game.
I’m traditionally a corn hole lover, but, Giagantoss Ladder Toss is where it’s at!
Talk about fun, challenging, and yet easy?
It’s like being at a rodeo and using the rope.
Fun to throw and even better when you hit the ladder toss across from you and score!
With every throw, I’ve gotten better and better.
However, with every toss so have my young adults!
Honestly, we’ve played this game for hours and it never gets old.
In fact, I’ve even tried to throw 3 at one time, just to see what happens.
Addictive, easy to learn, and challenging when you are tossing against others.
When you change sides like right and left, it’s even more difficult to rebalance!
Unlike most backyard games you can always do better than you did.
My favorite Ladder Toss Moments
When I toss the tennis ball bolos and they bounce off the ground and end up roping the bottom rung of the ladder.
It really ticks everyone off that I get that lucky and I have NO idea how I do it!
Our GoSports Ladder Toss is 2x larger than a standard ladder toss set and it took my son minutes to build.
We love the carry bag, it keeps it simple for cleanup!
The trackers are easy to use and you can make up your own rules too.
For play (be it right or wrong) we play on one side then move to the other.
It kind of keeps the challenge going and keeps pushing our skill of tossing the tennis ball bolos.
YOu get 3 red and 3 blue tennis bolos, the case, the ladders, and rules.
Remember, rules are made to be broken, so learn the game per the rules then let family backyard game night form other rules.
Oh yeah, it’s on!
It’s About To Get Really Interesting With A Golf Cornhole Mixed Game
GoSports BattleChip VERSUS Golf Cornhole Chipping Game might help your chipping game!
The cornhole that you have loved, is the 3 holes, but it is also very different!
What happens when you mix team sports, golf, and cornhole?
You get an incredible game that GoSports has available to challenge you!
Do you get frustrated when you are golfing because of chipping, or getting out of the sand?
Grab your wedge, sand wedge, or lob wedge and patience (they aren’t included).
HOT TIP>>> head to a thrift store, Goodwill Store, etc. to find cheapie wedges to use with this game, so you don’t destroy yours or the kids don’t!
We made up our own rules and my mom even played.
The boards are 3′ x 2′ and solid wood frames, carpeted with green turf.
This set comes with 16 foam balls, a scorecard, and a tote bag, which allows us to take it to any party we go to.
With each stroke and attempt, you will challenge yourself and your family to see who can get that 3 or 5 points you so badly will crave.
But, the fun does not stop there.
Actually, I’ve enjoyed this game during the day, without distraction on my own.
I’ve used Battlechip as a training ground to hone in on my chipping skills for golf.
Each day, I see I am improving.
Now it’s your turn.
