Car shopping is not an easy task. You might drive from lot to lot and dealer to dealer looking for that perfect vehicle. After your first few stops, you become keenly aware of the vehicle that you are honing in on and that is how the process goes.
Some of us start out looking for a sedan yet decide that a crossover SUV is perhaps a better fit for our lifestyle and family makeup. No matter what you choose, 2 doors, 4 doors, hatchback, coupe, crossover, truck or full-size SUV one thing you need to do is learn how to save time when buying a vehicle.
The dealer you chose will matter, so make sure that the dealer you choose has more than one brand available, and has a full array of vehicles on site to look at! Let’s take a look at other ways that will help you save time when buying a vehicle.
How To Save Time When Buying A Vehicle
Many Brands, One Lot
My first suggestion is to head on over to a dealership that has more than one brand in its lot, like a Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram dealer that will help you sort through all the types of vehicles you could possibly want. A dealership that offers multiple possibilities really helps to save you time because you can compare different vehicles without leaving a destination. You can compare trucks to Jeeps and you can look at different cars.
Stripped down or Loaded?
I also love when a dealer has multiple options of vehicles with different pricing, such a stripped down models (limited) to the fully tripped out models (with every possible option built in). When you walk the lot, you should be able to see Car A as compared to Car B. You might not have considered an amenity or add-on and once you see it you know you have to have it. Or… you might see it and then you will not be able to justify the cost for something as simple as a moon roof. The ability to see, feel and touch helps you to add-on or whittle down without regret.
Get Financing Done Online
Gone are the days of waiting to fill out a credit application and wait at the dealership to see if you are approved or not. Get pre-approved online and apply for financing online. You won’t believe how easy it is to do the applications online from the comfort of your home! Another bonus of filling out the applications at home is that you can actually pull any information you might not have handy while at the dealer.
Focusing on the application at home, allows you to focus on the purchase at the dealership. One caveat- do not fill out financing applications until you have narrowed down the vehicle and the dealership you want to work with.
SIMPLE, EASY & TIME SAVING
Finding a dealership that offers each of the options above will allow you to make a great decision on your vehicle and allow you to focus on the purchase rather than worrying about financing or having to search for other models of vehicles from dealership to dealership.
Thank you for your car tips
I liked it when you said that visiting a dealer that has more than one type of car in their inventory will help me more in sorting which vehicle I would want. That is good to know because the only thing I have in mind is that I need a car that is fuel efficient and can accommodate my family. I need a dealer who will explain everything to me and explain the pros and cons of the car because I really do not know.
I really liked it when you mentioned going to a dealer that seals a lot of types of cars and vehicles so that I can compare the different types of vehicles and choose the one that I really like. Actually, it is not me but my younger brother who is in need of a truck. He said that he will use it for his work, but I do not understand what he means. It’s probably better if I just let him know about this so he can decide for himself.
Hey great share……
I was thinking of buying a used car for myself but I was little apprehensive of buying a used one but now after reading this post I am pretty sure I am gonna crack a nice deal
Thanks for sharing these amazing tips. Keep sharing more…
Cheers!!
My husband might need to get a car to travel back and forth from school in. I love your point about visiting a dealership that will have more than one make or model. This will be important to find the right car.
That’s ok, the financing thing if the bank still approves the model of the car you want to buy.
Thank you for all of the tips on how to save time when buying a vehicle. I really want to buy a car to replace my broken one, but I want it to be a faster process. I really like your tip about heading to a dealership with a lot of brands. I think that would give me a really good variety of choices.
Technology makes it easier to level the playing field with the dealerships. Online financing arms you with better negotiating tools so they can’t gouge with their own banks which they actually get points from. I’m about to buy a new used vehicle and these tips will definitely come in handy. Great article!
I have been thinking of getting my first car. Thankfully I saw this before getting one. Very helpful! Thanks.
I like the way you explain the small details that we have to take care before buying any type of car. I am thinking that while buying a new car it is also important to discuss the exchange offer of an old car with new one, but I want to know with you that it is ok if we talk about this with a dealer?
My wife and I have been wanting to get a new truck but we haven’t really known what to look for when getting one! I liked that you had mentioned that it can be important to find a brand that you like and that will work for you. We’ll have to start looking around for trucks that are made by Mercedes Benz since they’re a company that has worked great for us.
One mistake I made when I was younger was not having my financing done beforehand. They dealer stuck me with a 23% interest rate and I was to naive at the time to understand. Irregardless, I haven’t been much more careful since then. It’s great that you mention online financing beforehand. It also gives you leverage in the negotiation that you’re already approved. Thanks for sharing!
I’m looking at buying a new car, so I appreciated the information you provided in your article. Your mention of how financing can be done in advance and online is really helpful. I want the car buying process to be as quick and painless as possible, so this is definitely something I’ll remember to do.
You made a good point when you said going to a dealership that offers many types of vehicles can actually save you a lot of time when planning to buy a used vehicle. You may want to look around in your area for a dealer that offers a wide range of certified pre-owned vehicles. This way, you are able to compare prices and features without having to transfer from one location to another. Who knows? You might even get a good offer from the dealer right on your very first visit. If I were to buy a used car, I would make sure to keep this in mind. Thanks.
I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to get my used car. It makes sense that I would want to ensure that I go to a nice lot! It’s nice that they would have all kinds of cars to choose from.
I appreciate the information that you shared here, Loved the part with online financing, will keep that in mind. Thanks for sharing!
I just bought a new car for myself and just as you said I couldn’t justify paying an extra $3000+ for a navigation system and better rims. Extra options are extremely tempting when buying a car, but I like to think of myself as frugal. Great advice for when I purchase a car for my wife soon.
The best part of your article is when you talked about how you can consider choosing a dealership that offers different types and models of a car so you can compare different vehicles without leaving a destination. My husband’s birthday is just around the corner, so I’m looking to find the best dealership where I can have a variety of vehicles to choose from which will allow me to save time in purchasing a new car. I will make sure to remember all your tips about buying a new car. Thanks!
I’m always afraid of buying car because i don’t know much about cars. I have started to learn on web pages regarding that. I find it something useful for me!Thank for sharing.
Awesome tips! I usually check online where to best buy cars and I couldn’t agree more to finding a dealer that caters to different brands and models. Loved the part with online financing, will keep that in mind. Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate the information that you shared here on what to look for when buying a vehicle! Just like you mentioned, if you get pre-approved online and apply for financing online, the process of buying a car can become a whole lot smoother. My son is getting ready to buy his first car, and I want to be able to share with him some insight so that he can make the right decision. Thanks again for helping me help him find the right car for him.
I am ready to buy my first car but need help in knowing how to find the right place to get one. It’s good to know one thing I might want to consider is going to one that has a lot of different brands on their lot to help me determine which kind to get. This is something that will really help save time on the process and be able to help me get the right vehicle for me.
Great article! For me buying a car is very difficult and spend a lot day.Thank for sharing a valuable article with specific writing.
I think it’s actually a good idea to find a dealer that has different types and models of cars on display in their shop, that way you can easily make a comparison. However, in my case, since I’m a Hyundai type of person, I think I’d want to visit a dealer that showcase the different models of the brand. I like your suggestions. I’m planning to go car-hunting next week, so I think it will be helpful to remember what you said. Thanks!
It’s interesting that you talked about going to a dealership that offers different brands of cars. That way you can find out what would suit you best. My son just turned sixteen, and I want to find a car for him. I can see how it would be nice to look at a variety, in case there is a specific brand he really likes.
Being Honest with you, when it comes to car buying; it’s very important to always be cautious from the dealer’s manipulation for getting most of your pocket. Thanks for the helpful guide, Dana.
I basically watch youtube reviews , they are a gold mine of infos especially to non car nerds like me, anyways , nice article
you are soooo talented in writing. God is truly utilizing you within tremendous ways. You are doing a excellent job! It was a wonderful blog!
I like that you remind your readers about how easy it is to get their financing done online now. After all, getting preapproved for a car loan can really help you save time when buying one. The dealer will be happy to see that you already have the money you need to buy the car once you’ve found one that you like.
I really don’t have much time in my hands because aside from being a mom, I’m also an employee. So I like your idea of going over to a dealership with a lot of brand in its lot. That way I can save time, and have the chance to choose from a variety of options without traveling a lot. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll make sure to take note of it.
I really liked that you had mentioned that it can be important to look into the models that the dealer offers because you’ll want everything from the premium to the stripped down models. My wife has finally given the okay to let me get a new truck and we haven’t started looking around yet, but we will start soon. Once we start looking around, I’ll be making sure that I can find a dealer that sells the right ford truck that I’ve been wanting, I’m hoping to get more of a premium model.
I like your tip to get pre-approved online before you think about buying a car so that you can have all of the information you need handy. I’ve been working a lot lately so I can buy my first car before winter comes. It’ll be too cold to ride my bike, so I’m hoping to buy a car to get me to work and back.
Easier car buying experiences makes the whole process easier:)
Good advice Dana, I would agree with Becca you don’t want to rush but going to a multi-brand dealer does give you a variety that you wouldn’t get from one dealer. In that sense you are seeing as much variety as you could visiting maybe 2-3 dealers. Filling out finance form online makes sense and doesn’t necessarily mean you’re rushing.
Awesome tips! Thank you for sharing such a well informative post. Planning to buy a new one but it’s really quite difficult if my schedule is quite hectic. Anyways, love this!
Whenever I buy a vehicle, I usually browse online first on which car is the best and offers the most cheapest car plan so that I can still save money while at the same time paying for my car. I bought a Toyota Wigo which is the most quality car here in my country and also low-cost and super affordable.
We are in the process of buying our first house, and we are wanting to make sure that everything is done right. It’s good to know that when it comes to the home inspection that we need to remember that we don’t need to be afraid to ask questions about things that we aren’t for sure about. This will be great for me so that I know that we are getting the house that we actually paid for.
Very short and precise post!!
Buying a car is really not an easy job. Especially, when you have multiple brands offering car models with similar configuration. This is where dealers makes your job easy, they will share their expert opinion that helps in finalizing the car of your choice.
Hi, this is very helpful especially for all of the vehicle buyers out there. Thank you so much for sharing this one. 🙂
I like that tip to go to a dealership with multiple brands. That way you can try a wide variety of vehicles. I’m always doing handy work for my family as my hobby, so I’ll have to find a place where I can try trucks that can hold my tools.
My wife and I are thinking about buying a new car and are looking for ways to make the process go smoothly. I like that you suggest getting the financing done online from home because you have all your information available and don’t have to worry about forgetting anything. It’s really nice that things can be done from home so you don’t have to make unnecessary trips back and forth. Thanks for the tip!
It really helped when you talked about how it is important to choose a dealership that has several brands of vehicles in order for you to choose the best model for your needs. I can see that doing this can help you have a variety of choices and be able to get a car that you like and has the features you want it to have. Personally, I would want to make sure I do a little research and know what type of car I want before I visit a dealer so I save time and get the best deal I can.
I don’t need all the loaded features. I go with stripped down and if I ever need to add something on, I usually find that it’s cheaper to install separately from some sources rather than prepackaged with the dealer.
that’s true it takes time to even decide which vehicle is gonna be the appropriate one to the needs. Thanks for the post.
As for me my standards when it comes to vehicles is NEED first DESIRE later, What I mean is look at the car on how it can help and not just because you want it.
I know what you mean about car shopping becoming too time consuming. It’s probably a good idea to research online what you’re looking for beforehand. At least you’ll get to narrow down the candidates before going to the dealership.
Great Tips. I’ll keep that in mind especially the online financing part ^^
I love the idea of buying and having my own car, where I can use it in my everyday life at work and to travel. This article helps me alot to decide and gives me ideas on how to save time, financing a car. Thank you, good job!
Yes I agree with being able to compare Car A with Car B to help me make decisions better. This really helps me as I’m a very on hands and visual person. That tip was a good one. Haven’t considered online financing though, it’s something to think about.
Im planning to buy a new vehicle but not too soon, however these tips are very helpful. Thanks for giving me a few idea to consider, at least I have something to ponder on before I purchase in the future.
I like that online part. Yes I think it’s more convenient that way rather than waiting to be approved. Thanks for these tips!
I will definitely consider having approved for financing online first. That portion is the most time consuming when buying a new car. Choosing a brand and the type of car can be discussed with the family at home before going to a dealer.
I like the idea of getting financing done online. If I get a car in the future I would definitely consider having that done as it would save a lot of time! x
These are all great things to consider before buying a car. I will have to keep these in mind sometime early next year when my son will be getting his own car.
I truly expected to write a quick comment remembering the right content to offer on account of you for these surprising information you are putting on your site. You are persistently driving an explosive work. I should state you have created mind blowing article.
Trying to buy a car has so many different things you need to think about. These are great things to think about when it comes to purchasing your vehicle. Knowing what you want in your car before you go looking is essential.
I usually have left all things car related to my husband. However this is not a practical thing to do as its good to be independent and work things out for yourself. Your post has given me a lot of information I didn’t know before. Thank you.
Great tips. We have been saving up and hopefully in a month we can buy a new car. I am so excited about that.
I personally think you should take your time when purchasing a new vehicle – you don’t want to rush into spending a load of money for something that’s going to break down in a few months and cost you even more money in repairs! I agree that going to a trader with lotsd of different manufacturers is a good idea to save time though x
I always think looking for things online can save a lot of time as you can do it anytime x
One of the things I don’t like doing is something car related. I don’t know anything about cars and I’m not even interested! So everyday I drive my car, I just hope it keeps running without getting any problems. Anyways, I really like how you shared the tips, especially the “lots of brand, one lot” is smart.
I wish I had this before buying my last car. I’m the worst person to take to buying a car as I just want something. These are useful for my next purchase. I never even thought about getting franshising done online.
