It’s all ended too soon, margaritas poolside, wave jumping, boogie boarding, early walks on the beach, boardwalk time, biking, touring and having a blast, and now it’s to pack up and head home.
The stank of dirty laundry is masked only by the big, plastic trash bags that are tied off and saving me from the stench of wet, sandy, sweaty and well-worn clothing. Since the kids were in charge of packing up the dirty, I have that mother’s intuition that the wet bathing suits, and towels are tossed together. I might even guess that the dirty undergarments from sweating in the sun, are mixed in with the clean laundry (if any survived).
Hello to the massive pile of laundry that is greeting my feet in the mudroom. What was a happy vacation has suddenly turned into a turbulent warfare of stinky, sandy, dirty clothing from my family? Lavishly live some tips of the laundry survival guide after a vacation to ease up your return home travel!
Laundry Survival Guide After Vacation
When I find a great product, I love to share it so today I am happy to announce that I’m sharing #Tide in my life as part of a Tide sponsored series for Socialstars™. I only share products and tips that I feel are relevant to all of you and I am sure that any parent that has taken a family on vacation will appreciate this find!
Aren’t I the luckiest gal in the world, coming home from a relaxing vacation to a mountain of laundry? I mean, I could almost pinch myself with how ecstatic I am, but I do have something on my Team Laundry that will help me get this all cleaned up, in any temperature and clean while conditioning in one step! Drum roll please, or a pina colada, whichever you have closest! My secret laundry survival guide after vacation weapon are Tide PODS® Plus Downy laundry detergent pacs.
They Don’t Discriminate
We just got a new high-efficiency washer and I am so glad to learn that Tide PODS® works with both high efficiency and standard washers because I had these left over from my old standard washer and was not sure that I could use them up! In fact, Tide PODS® Plus Downy is the first detergent pac that helps transform the washing machine into a safe place that cleans, conditions, protects the clothing you love.
I know that their favorite tops, bottoms, will get cleaned yet not be damaged in the wash because Tide PODS® Plus Downy protects clothes from damage in the wash! Remember for large loads you need to use 2 pacs not one.
Lavishly Undo That Wet Mess
Before that wet mess of laundry starts to ramp up the stench, even more, it’s time to just dig in and get great cleaning results fast! Take out those swim trunks, those wet towels and separate delicates from rough and rumble (towels, tees, socks).
Grab your Tide PODS® Plus Downy laundry detergent pacs because you are about to enjoy great cleaning results when you use these 4-in-1 laundry packs. Fight stains (oh the kids are famous for these untold treasures) and brighten those items that have been worn over and over and dirtied on up! Toss the laundry detergent pac into the washer FIRST then put those towels in and get ready for clean, conditioned, non-stinky ROI! Suddenly I feel myself settling in from vacation again.
Ready. Set. Repeat!
The massive pile of laundry will begin to dwindle as you attack it load by load, but if I can suggest your next load, I might suggest those clothes worn bike riding, hiking, and walking the beach and barbecuing. As these sit, they begin to inundate a smaller room with a lot of strong smell that can be best be described as a rank odor that is enough to make one gag! You are set and armed with your Tide® PODS™ Plus Downy® laundry detergent pacs because they will conquer smell, stains, cleansing and brightening all in one load! Remember to always keep pacs out of reach of children.

Really love to read this post and its seems like a great blog i have ever seen. Just read your article.
I hate doing laundry, but Tide makes my life a little easier. I always have been able to rely on it to get my clothes clean.
So I’ve never tried this little things. Not sure how they work. But I’m willing to give it a try now that you’ve featured it. Well, there’s always a first time!
I love doing laundry! Yeah…contrary to what most people feel, I love cleaning, doing laundry, fixing stuff. And even after a long family getaway, I always look forward to washing my family’s clothes. Tide has always been a big help. I tried other detergents, but Tide has always been my favorite.
One of the comments mentioned disposable clothes. If only the environmental impact won’t be severe, I will surely agree with that! Until that technology becomes real though, Tide will remain my best friend.
Those are coconut tree in the very first picture with the title of the post aren’t they? Where wast this picture taken? Sorry, that got my attentions first. Then on the second look, I realized how clever that picture is related to the topic. A clothesline under the coconut trees. Nice!
I don’t usually do my own laundry and reading this made me realize that is is quite a chore! I usually just take my stuff to laundry shops. This product did get my interest though. Maybe it would make doing my laundry easy enough for me to do myself.
The product you are endorsing is really nice. Will it work properly in any kind of washing machine? The one I got in my flat is the one with a rotating bottom. Will it work on that or should I get a fully automated one?
These tips can save me a ton of work. I do not use disposable clothes but this will cut my working time in half.
Disposable garments you can buy those? In here we have not use anything like that before. I thank the author for this article.
Oh I never guessed you’re also a Tide user, Dana. That’s great. I’ve been a Tide user for a long time and I can personally vouch for it. It’s the best laundry detergent in the market!
I love these little pods. I used one from another brand. Now I’m gonna try Tide since you recommended it.
These tips are absolutely helpful! My friends an I will be hitting the beaches soon. I’m gonna put this Tide thingy on my to-bring list fro sure!
This is really great advice for those who will be going on vacation. However, I think I can apply this in my dorm as well. I mean, I do my own laundry since I started college. Not exactly my favorite task. If this can make things easier for me, then I’d definitely give it a try! Thanks for the tips!
The dreadful aftermath of a vacation —LAUNDRY! We usually just send all of it at the laundry shop near us to have time to relax. But this is cool stuff, I might try this. Thanks
This guide is amazing! This Tide PODS product, is it ok for any type of washer? I’m not really doing much laundry so I’m not sure if detergents should have compatibility with the machine or something.
This is very true especially if you’ve gone on a very long family vacation. It dampens my euphoria from the vacation, thinking about all the household chores I’m gonna do! Thank you for the suggestion Dana, I hope this Tide pods will make laundry a breeze!
I had my reservations about using these “pods” when they first came out. Some of my friends say it’s quite good. But when Dana says it is, then I believe her! I’m gonna give it a try.
That Tide thingy looks pretty neat. Though I’m in college, mom insists on taking care of my laundry whenever I go home on weekends. Not exactly a vacation. I think this product can really help her out.
I don’t mind doing my own laundry. However, when somebody invents something that I only have to spray on my clothes to clean them, I’d probably be first in line to buy that! I wonder if the convenience stores near my area has this product though…
I feel like wanting to buy this at once. I just really want to get rid of all the dirty clothes from the vacation. Another one is coming up soon, I’m not sure I’ll still have the strength to do all the laundry. I might just throw them all out. LOL
The detergent and fabric conditioner in one packaging? hmm..interesting. We’ll try it though. Is it available online? I mean, can it be purchased through Amazon or ebay? I guess I’ll figure it out myself. Thanks for this.
It’s brilliant! I find the Tide pods interesting and convenient. Tide has been a household name in our family for as long I can remember. I’ll surely give this a try. I am amazed how the detergent and the fabric conditioner can come into one packaging. Cool technology! I hope it’s not that expensive though.
I totally agree! I have a mountain-like pile of clothes from our family vacation as well and can still sense the beach on it. Thanks for this review, Dana!
I know right, the vacation can turn into tiring chores by pile of laundry. Thanks for sharing this guide! So useful!
I love the smell of downy. I really feel lucky to find this survival guide because… summer is comiiing soon
Laundry is one of the most difficult tasks for me and that too after a vacation it will be really hectic. My mother never leaves me or my brother to pack things up as we will surely mix the dirty ones with the clean clothes. It happened twice and mom just got furious. Those were good times though. We can divide that pile and wash it up day by day. By doing those we won’t feel tired.
You will not know the mountain of laundry piling up until the vacation is over. It is one of my worst nightmares to wash all the clothes after a long vacation. I mostly do it alone but sometimes I too enjoy that besides the hectic work. I will look at those clothes and remember all the happy times that we had with our family. So thinking about that will wear about the stress of having to wash a lot of clothes.
This reminded me that I still have to do my laundry from my trip two days ago. Yes, doing laundry is a chore especially if you’re traveling with a bunch of other people.
Doing the laundry makes me wish for the existence of disposable swimsuits and clothes. That way, I won’t have to carry too many things going to and from vacation. Wishful thinking I know. Plus, it may not be good for the environment. Oh well, if mom was able to live through it, so can I.
Laundry is the part of vacations I really dislike. At age 15, we were taught to wash our own clothes. That’s fine with me. I consider it as a part of preparing for college. I’m gonna try this product out, thanks to this post.
” What was a happy vacation has suddenly turned into a turbulent warfare of stinky, sandy, dirty clothing from my family” What I think that, if you like your mother happy after a good holiday, you might co-operate with your mom altogether to clean up the mess.
Wow this tide works amazing. There’s really a lot of laundry in every vacation good thing this one can come really handy.
I guess tide has a lot of products that are so amazing. We dont have those kind in the country though.

I have a laundry shop and it’s really ifferent if you wash mixed clothes. You need to get the best detergent to clean wet soiled clothes since Tide Pod was ready in the market why not trying this new stuff.
Vacation laundry is always a bummer! And yes you need a good detergent for your wet clothes. Thanks for the laundry tips!
Doing laundry after vacation is such a boring chore. Its even worse than doing ironing afterwards, hopefully Tide will make it more fun as the laundry will smell nicer and feel softer.
this is a very helpful info. I do much of the laundry. I definitely would like to try this product. thank you for this info.
I feel you sister! At the end of every family vacation, I always dread the amount of laundry that I’m gonna do. It’s good to have products like Tide that makes life so much easier for us.
PS
The last sentence of your sixth paragraph has been repeated to the next paragraph.
Thank you for this recommendation. I always believe Tide makes the best detergents out there. I’ve been a long-time user, not disappointed ever since.
This is indeed a laundry survival guide and Tide truly understand our struggle with our pile up laundry. I love that they come up with the product that will speed up our laundry hours. It might be tiring but enjoying as this is an interesting product.
I hate doing the laundry to be honest, but they pile up. I always have fun during vacations that I don’t mind the laundry so much so this is really helpful
Everything is true! Tide pods works amazing. It is very convenient to use. It effectively cleans and protects our clothes. Above all, it makes our clothes smell so good.
