New Year New Me may be flying all over the internet right now, but it’s not a new bandwagon.
For as long as any of us can remember, the idea of becoming a new person has been the overriding sentiment for the new year.
Really, I can include myself in that.
Right now, the memes are blasting the phrase, and with good reason.
People rarely stick to anything, and there’s already an idea of “what was wrong with the old you?” floating around out there.
However, I would say that New Year New Me should be more appropriately called New Year Better me.
That’s what we’re all really after, after all.
Now this year, I’m taking 5 easy steps to make the new year about being better and not being new.
It’s a small distinction but an important one.
I’ll show you how to do the same and share what I am doing to make this happen!
5 Steps to Making New Year New Me a Reality
To begin with, I’m making everything about self-care.
I tend to spread myself too thin, give too much, and generally push myself to a point that becomes unhealthy.
So this year, all of my intentions (not resolutions – that’s important) revolve around me being good to myself rather than draining myself.
I think we all tend to lose ourselves in trying to be the best at whatever to the point of sacrificing ourselves at times, and that’s just now healthy.
This year, I’m making some changes.
Slowing Down
I’m on GO mode all the time, and it can be exhausting.
This year, I plan on slowing down a lot more.
I won’t be slacking, but I will be working with the understanding that not everything has to be done right this minute, and that I don’t have to do everything on my own.
While we live in the here in now, it’s still never relevant to just put it all out there.
Before I post, I ponder. Why?
Social can be over-rated, so, I’ve stepped back.
It’s time to stop and smell the roses, as it were.
Yes, but not short meaningless trips.
A longer, more rewarding time, spent at places on my radar, not just because.
Choosing, and picking because not everything is for everyone, then again, this has always been me, I am just upping it!
Delegating
For an influencer like me, slowing down means delegating.
When you find a good VA you work with them more than less.
This year, using my very skilled VA more will be in play.
I need to focus on other aspects of the business that allow my soul to thrive and less screen time!
It’s impossible to slow down if your plate is overflowing with responsibilities.
Therefore, my VA takes on those tasks, so I can focus more on myself, my family, and self-care.
Exercising
I’m not going to lie, I’m not a huge fan of exercising.
It’s not about laziness, but just not really lacking the first few minutes of motivation to get to it.
However, once I start, I’m good.
Part of my New Year New Me routine includes some exercise every day.
No, it is not always in the gym, sometimes it is just an outdoor stroll.
Truly this is more about taking the time and doing what’s good for my body.
Exercise is shown to help improve health, the immune system, and even mental state, so it’s an important part of self-care.
Drinking More Water
I am so terrible about this one.
Can you believe I never drink enough water?
When I consume the proper amounts of water, I can tell you, I feel so much better!
I’ll be infusing my water with fruits and veggies to help make it more fun.
Further, keeping a bottle with me at all times is vital to my success, so you’ll see one in my bag, always!
Taking Control of My Health with Noom
As you can see from my previous goals, this year is all about getting myself into better health.
That’s an important part of self-care.
One way I’ll be ensuring that I do that is by using Noom to help me control my food intake. NOOM isn’t a diet, though.
When I say I’ll use them to control my food, I mean Noom will help me make better decisions in the short term and over the long haul.
With their help, I’ll be able to lose weight now and improve my health with the foods I eat over the long-term.
NOOM approaches food in a different way.
It’s not about points or deprivation.
Rather, it’s about changing the way we think about food, which in turn changes our relationship with food.
Yes, I am excited to see where it takes me.
After perusing their website, it’s a great fit for me.

I needed to Really Understand
Noom combines the power of technology and the empathy of real human coaches.
What I’ve learned over many years is that not having a coach sets you up for failure.
After all in life, we all have mentors and people to chat with, so this is so much the same.
These coaches talk to you and can help to get you motivated.
Motivation sets you towards those successful behavior changes you gotta make in order to gain sustainable weight loss results.
You know, I’ve been on a different plan and I’m a lifetime member, but somehow, it always gets gained back.
NOOM is not like that.
In fact, over 80% of Noom users have lost weight on other weight loss plans only to gain it all back.
What I love about that is it was not just ME!
Can I get a ‘YEA!’?
The Realistic and Scientific Backing Turned Me On to Noom.
NOOM user receives coaching from professionals trained in cognitive behavior therapy.
What I know is that later in life, bad eating and weight gain can potentially lead to pre-diabetic conditions.
I’ve witnessed it in my own family, and I love that the Noom program is modeled after the CDC’s diabetes prevention program.
Last, did you know that Noom has had 10 articles published in peer-reviewed scientific journals demonstrating the effectiveness of the program?
That’s the game-changing stuff you want to know!
Change New Year New You to New Year Better You
I’m focusing on taking better care of myself physically and emotionally this year.
By delegating more tasks, slowing down, and focusing on my physical health!
I’m giving myself the gift of feeling better in mind, body, and spirit this year.
NOOM is going to help me do that, and I’m excited to see where it goes.
