Of all the martinis I have made, this one is the one I prepare when I want a more fruit-driven, yet light taste in my martini glass.
Naturally, you can make this cocktail into a mocktail if you so desire.
Here’s the thing, if you are a big warehouse shopper, you might have gotten sucked into purchasing pink grapefruit?
Did you?
I always do, but this is my January cleanout drink and my summertime pleasure.
SO, I buy it and then just say I am cleaning out the refrigerator, after all, you gotta have a small reason to create a cocktail, and cleaning out is perfection!
Kick back anytime and enjoy a light and refreshing perfectly pretty in pink grapefruit martini.
Pink Grapefruit Martini
Just saying if you read the recipe, you can get a daily serving of fruit out of this, lol!
You’ll see how!
Naturally making a martini, you’ll want to have the right barware.
You can find great barware secondhand at any thrift store and did you know that the dollar stores all carry a nice selection as well?
Why do I prefer a chunkier base on my martini glass?
If you’ve ever had a few gal pals over on a GNO, and they whoop it up a bit too much, you already know the reason.
Tips happen and those thin stems don’t lead to a solid set down!
Also, I even had a few martini stems snap when the ladies tapped them on the granite countertops.
Yes, alcohol impairs our behavior but this martini barware helps out with the messy side of spills and breaks!
Let’s Talk Vodka
For this recipe, I’ve tried a few different types.
First, I’ve done plain old vodka.
It’s fine, but then I make sure to use freshly squeezed grapefruit to amp it up a bit.
However, my ace in the hole on this particular recipe has been Grapefruit Vodka!
It just sings worlds around the basic vodka and it does not detract from the martini premises.
When Do I Use This Cocktail?
We’ve used this for Valentine’s Day since it’s pink.
However, its’ been used on Sunday Brunches throughout the year too.
Our favorite use of this Pretty in Pink Grapefruit Martini: showers.
Bridal showers and baby showers!
It’s a fitting drink for those occasions as it’s light and elegant.
There’s no reason you can’t just use this cocktail anytime though.
This leads me to summertime.
Light.
Refreshing.
Naturally, fruity!
Plus, as a refrigerator cleanout recipe, it’s tops!
You are able to use up those pink grapefruit cups and get a serving of fruit, lol!

Notes
ALCOHOL-FREE - MOCKTAIL VERSION
For an equally delicious alcohol-free version, replace the vodka and orange liquor with 1 cupsparkling water and ¼ cup of fresh orange juice. Then, pour all ingredients into a
pitcher filled with ice, rather than a cocktail shaker, to combine before
serving. My Pink Grapefruit Cups ** So when it's time to add in the juice, I do a few different things. I take my grapefruit cups and I toss one into the blender. Then I use this for the drink. My other little trick is I drain the juice from the grapefruit cup and I chunk up some of the pieces of grapefruit and toss those into my martini, After all, it's some fruit intake, right? lol!
