I honestly don’t know what started making Taco Night a tradition in our home, but it is wild! Is Taco night a big deal in your house? My kids raid the fridge and pull out all the toppings and the Feeding Frenzy Begins. My kids love tacos, cheese, salsa, ranch, tomatoes, cucumbers, practically anything they can stuff on them. I have noticed a complete spike in the price of Ground Beef, which needless to say is not something I am happy with. It takes me a few pounds of ground beef to feed the troops because my kids are not afraid to pile it on and eat! I have also figured out a way to make the taco meat double but your price increase by only pennies. Here’s lavishly living a recipe of Tacos Grande out loud, Ole!
How To Beef Up Your Taco Mix
If you want to add a little more consistency or bulk to your Tacos, adding more meat may not be the answer. In fact, I have found that if you crack open a can of red bean, drain and rinse, then puree them, toss them into the browned meat and add the taco seasoning you suddenly have a great new blend. There is no MUSH just really great tasting food. The kids are none the wiser for this as the color of the taco seasoning mixes it all up and you usually break up the meat so fine for a taco it all blends. A bonus of this little ingredient, fiber and vitamins as well as a little thicker meat mix.
Cluck Cluck Cluck
It’s true, chicken shred makes great tacos. Want a quick short cut on taco night? Grab a can or two of canned chicken meat, drain, smash and place in pan, add taco seasoning and you are set to Taco it up. The kids will love the flavor, very different from the traditional beef taco and quite economical as well.
IF you don’t want canned chicken, boil chicken meat, shred and do the same as above, it is sinfully easy to prepare. Get ready to have Tacos with a twist, and be a bit more creative with your recipes as you lavishly live food and taco recipes out loud! OLE
