A Secret of Glamping
For me, no trip is complete without some of my own home sweet home items.
Therefore, we pack up our Jeep with snacks, bottled water, S’more Sticks and ingredients for S’mores and so on. Now that we have a few comforts of home, we are all set to enjoy it.
Here’s another thing if you hate camping, you will love glamping and it is possible that you are actually compromising making your partner happy.
Why? Because you have committed to the great outdoors without being in a tent!
2 Glamping Destinations
Destination One – Glamping Cabins in Coxsackie, NY
This location really gets the idea of Glamping. Gather Greene offers 17 WOODEN cabins and if you are here, you are on 100 acres of fields and hills combined.
Now, get this, the cabins offer both heating and AC, so you can glamp all year! Woot.
Other features you will love and I want to experience as well: a mini-fridge, full bathrooms (oh yes, no outhouse or woods!), and a coffee pot.
Not to be forgotten in all of this is the fact the decks on these have tables and chairs.
Wait though, because this is the part that made me smile big: you can pre-order food and drinks that get delivered to your cabin.
Kind of like Uber-Eats without the wheels racing to your Glamp destination!
Let me just be clear, that Glamping in Coxsackie is on the top of my bucket list is it on yours?
Destination Two – Glamping in the Old Catskill Game Farm — which is actually an old abandoned Zoo
While this is on my bucket list it is a little more ‘rough’ yet still not exactly camping, which makes it glamping.
You will have access to over 150 acres and 3 1/2 miles of paved walkways. This is perfect to get away from city life and enjoy nature!
For this Glamping area, you get access to a woodstove, fire-pit, and a refrigerator.
However, your bed is a cot, and there are an outdoor camp toilet and shower.
As I said a bit more ‘campy’ than glampy, yet very unique!
The Old Catskill Game Farm offers 4 very different experiences, including Abandoned Zoo Fidos Vineyard which is perfect for people with their pets.
You have a fenced in 1-acre area and solar power. Bring Fido and all his friends!
Which Glamping Experience Will You Choose?
Well, now there is just one thing left to do, book your Glamping experience.
Which one is more you? I have to admit I believe that I am ore a Coxsackie kind of gal, but I would love to just visit the Old Catskill Game Farm for walking and images.
Either of the experiences is unique and different and get you out of the city for a few days! Enjoy my latest ‘bucket list’ addon and let me know if you go! ~ DANA XO
