It’s official, you have made the announcement that it is time to travel and everyone has gone scampering for their luggage. Beach packing time!
At least 13 Great tips for beach packing!
If your crew is anything like anyone else’s family, there is always one unhappy person in the bunch about the choice destination whether it is because he got stung by a jellyfish last time you visited there or because someone lost their earphones at that vacation resort.
Instead, just focus on these 13 great tips to consider!
Uncomplicated beach packing
Keep things simple. Don’t overpack, but consider how vacation life flows.
While there is nothing you can do about the sour grape in the group, except move on, and keep positive because you know their attitude will change for the better before you take off, you can pack up perfectly for that trip to the beach so that time on the trip is smooth sailing.
As seasoned beach-goers, we have a beach packing list and I follow it each year to make life easier.
Beach Packing And Buying Local
Many people say don’t worry if you forget something there is always a store around, I prefer preparedness over errand running on vacation. From sunscreen to flip flops let’s take a quick look at what to toss in the bags for your perfect beach getaway.
Beach Packing with a Basket
My kids know the first thing I need is our ‘beach’ laundry basket. I like a laundry basket that has soft sides and totes and in fact, we have one specifically dedicated to our beach vacations.
This basket is packed with what the kids love to take back and forth to the beach as well as a few other needed supplies. Also known as beach packing made easy!
What kind of items do you use the basket for?
What Do you put inside the basket? Beach Packing Fun Kit
- inflatable ball,
- badminton set,
- 3 shovels,
- 2 buckets,
- 5 pairs of flip flops,
- a plastic jar with a lid,
- a few pairs of goggles,
- a frisbee,
- bubbles,
- and a football.
Beach Packing & Why Bring All That
This is the fun kit we carry back and forth to the beach.
When the wave jumping interest loses its fanfare, the football throwing begins as do the badminton tournaments and sandcastle building.
It is inevitable that while the beach is a blast, it does get boring to kids, but with a good kit that travels with you to the beach and a little muscle power, you are sure to survive the whining.
Beach Packing & A Plastic Jar
You might be asking what is in the plastic jar and what is its purpose?
This is the seashell jar. Every year we traverse to the beach and every year we pick more shells, I have crates filled with them.
We bring them home, clean them(to get that smell out of them), and load up our shell jars with our new finds.
The jar limits the amount we can scoop up and bring home, making us a bit more selective than the average shell collector.
Optional Items to consider for Beach Packing
Toss these items into our bag:
The Gift Card is great because if for some reason it gets stolen, you are not worrying about the credit or the credit limit, enough said.
The carabiner clip has come in handy for clipping bags shut, holding a flip flop set to the blanket. An underwater camera has its own perfect uses from silly photos that the kids can collect to pool time!
Other beach stuff that makes us comfy while we are on the sand.
I am a huge proponent of comfort and I can handle only so much ground time! Beach packing is important!
So sometimes we tote inflatable float mattresses and place our towels on them, and other times we just bring the beach mats.
We also bring additional towels for drying because somehow the sand just grasps hold of those towels and makes it unbearable against tanned skin.
Frozen water bottles – because tanning lotion and medications that we might tote should stay cool as well as when the water defrosts it’s cool and refreshing.
Packing up for the beach must be done ahead, and once you do it one time, if you keep everything together, you won’t have to repeat the process, as we literally keep the laundry basket packed and ready to go from year to year. Have fun at the beach this year!
