When I find asparagus in the store that is thin it is time to start getting creative in the kitchen. We walked into the store and my eyes were instantly gravitated to Asparagus, they were just beautiful. I love getting creative with asparagus because it has so many sides. My two favorite things about asparagus is how quick it is to clean and how easy it is to snap in half. I have to be brutally honest, we are shopping for asparagus while in the village of AVON, North Carolina. I don’t want to have any more time in the kitchen than necessary as there is so much to do. Yes the Outer Banks are laid back, but seriously, there is so much to do, why waste it in the kitchen? Food Lion makes it easy to prepare delicious recipes that are quick, easy and made with the freshest ingredients and I grabbed up some fresh green, thin asparagus. I have also brought my own special spice along to the beach with me as part of my condiments and spices in order to create a delicious recipe that rocked and could be called nothing else than an inspired: Beach Spiced Asparagus. This recipe was allergen free(for my child)as my one child has severe food allergies but he LOVES his veggies! This is how I lavishly lived the beach life out loud, with delicious ingredients from the local Food Lion while staying at our Wyndham Vacation Rental in the Outer Banks.
First things first, shopping at the Food Lion is so great, I mean how do you make a decision what to buy and what to leave in the store? I could have shopped for about 25 people and in all honesty I am only feeding four. My kids really love their veggies, and I am all about simplicity in the kitchen while providing lavish meals. Today’s menu included scrambled eggs for protein for the kids while adding a huge platter of Spiced Asparagus With Food Lion In The Outer Banks.
Look at how beautiful the produce was in the Food Lion. It is was just beckoning me to buy it and make this special dish! Ummmmmm.
What the heck is Outer Spice ? This is a low salt spice that I received to review, and it offers a low salt alternative to normal spices. This is a fresh herb and spice mix that is created in artisan batches and it is gluten free, all natural and contains no MSG. The flavor against asparagus is kicking and that is where Food Lion and the Outer Spice mesh and play nice! While we are here, we are in the kitchen creating delicious meals, but I am not taking a ton of time to make them, so we shopped at Food Lion, grabbed Onions, and Asparagus and made this easy to curate recipe.
What makes the Outer Spice so fantastic? This is a gluten-free, MSG Free and all natural product that has absolutely no GMO ingredients in it and it lets everything it blends with become mouth-watering and delicious. The spices in this are hand-selected whole spices and they are freshly ground in small batches. Trust me, the flavor is outstanding and raw veggies that become cooked blend so well with the spice. We used Outer Spice Original to craft these Asparagus, it has pink sea salt, garlic, black pepper, red pepper, dill, caraway, etc. The flavors are perfect against the Asparagus. Here’s the How To.
- 1/2 Medium Yellow Sweet Onion Skinned, and cut into thin slices
- 2 Tsp Of Outer Spice Original
- 2 Tbps Of Olive Oil
- 1 Bunch 1 pound of cleaned, Asparagus
- Clean the Asparagus, and the onion. Place Olive oil in a medium-sized fry pan, allow to warm, and place sliced onion in. Place in Asparagus, then spice, cover and allow to cook for 5 minutes. Asparagus will change from bright green to dark green and they are then done. Serve over pasta, alone or with seafood.
