Live trees are loved by some and hated by others. I’ll tell you the truth, I am a converted ‘Others’.
The Christmas tree stand you need so your tree does not topple over is within this post as is a story of true dismay towards live trees.
I’ve lost ornaments to fallen trees, had damaged the carpet due to water, and honestly spewed words more colorful than crayons in a crayon box.
Laugh as you may if you just want to enjoy a live tree with no issues this article will share the Best Christmas Tree Stand and Mat You need in your lives.
No more broken ornaments, no cat issues, no water issues, and another vital element, a mat that makes fallen needles a non-issue.
The craziness of setting up a tree, and straightening it for hours is about to stop as is all the surrounding mayhem.
First cups of water to the middle of the night tree crash just are not going to happen.
As unbelievably impossible as this all sounds, consider this article an early Christmas Gift.
I’ll still say you need an excuse to drink some wine since you won’t be whining over a fallen tree.
Just tell anyone asking why you are drinking that glass of wine, “I am toasting (or getting toasted, lol), the best ever Christmas Tree Stand and Mat’ we all need in our lives!

Christmas Tree Fall Over-eity
It’s called Christmas Tree Fall Over-eity. This fast-moving virus strikes and unknowing, Christmas-Cheer filled home that has just set their tree in its stands.
Guess what? Christmas Tree Fall Over-eity is not just a fast-moving virus that strikes the USA it’s worldwide.
Can Christmas Tree Fall Over-eity be stopped? The truth in this is that it can be stopped, cured in fact, if you read on, you will know-how.
If I can help just ONE family (and I know I will help more than that), I have helped changed Christmas Past. LOL.
Keep a good sense of humor, read on, and change my story into yours, as I KNOW that we ALL have similar Christmas Tree Tales.
For years, I lived in a home with parents that only ever had artificial trees.
There were no messes, and the trees were up on time, as of the first of December and sometimes earlier.
However, getting married changed my artificially sparked holidays to a live tree. Ugh is all I can say.
Trees that had to be purchased from the same vendor varied on a delivery date from year to year.
While my whole house might have been ready for Christmas, the tree was not.
I’d wait for the delivery and then the agony of the tree ritual.
The OLD Ritual Of Setting Up Our Live Tree
The Tree SetUp And Mess The Striking of Christmas Tree Fall Over-eity
If you are reading this, you’ve been here done this, right?
The season of perpetual bliss is a season of living hell when it comes to setting up a freshly cut holiday tree in your home.
While I LOVE Hallmark movies during the Christmas Season, they really do need a reality check from their happy little world.
Sorry, Hallmark, it’s not as ‘fun’ as you make it look, and why do those girls never haul out a vacuum?
Are your live trees Needle-Free?
The reality of a live tree is not as simple as hauling it home and putting it in a room.
From cutting the tree to hauling it inside, to allowing it to ‘fall’ for 24 hours before dressing it for lights all are true PIA’s, IMO.
With three kids running around, a full-time job, school activities and a tree that is less than cooperative, it’s mayhem.
Do you feel me?
Bliss at this point would be an artificial 9-foot tree, that simple is hauled out of our storage room, and placed right in its spot year after year.
Perhaps, the most I have to do to this tree is fluff the bows or add a few more ornaments, but that’s it.
Let Christmas begin.
But not in Casa Vento, we had to have the True Holiday tree needle, sap-sharing, carpet ridden, water-laden mess or it was not a holiday.
Needles Make Me Upset
Needles, endless issues with expensive tree stands and water, and a flea infestation all made me cringe every Christmas.
In fact, pine needles from the live tree somehow made their way from the Christmas tree all the way up the steps of our homes.
Did I say NEEDLES? There were plenty of Italian Feuds in our home over a live tree and I never won.
Somehow the needles attached to the kids’ bare feet, and their pj’s and their hair, and the cats’ hair.
These wretched things even stuck me at the bottom of the foot.
I don’t care how good the room smelled after the TREE was firmly planted into its tree holster.
Oh wait, did I say, “tree planted firmed in a holster?”
Let’s back this up, because for years, no matter what tree stand we used, we had a mess.
The Unforgiving Tree Stand – Not The Best Ever Christmas Tree Stand And Mat
We started out with those typical green and red tree stands everyone typically uses.
Those little darlings, simply tipped. Did I say ‘Tipped?’
Then we moved onto a tube and bottle system, quite similar to this mess. Or who thought of this brilliant watering system?
All I can tell you is either of these watering systems to keep your tree ‘watered’ is definitely headed to a waterfall of sorts and your flooring will pay the price for it.
We had a bottle and tube it most resembles the later of those options above. I feel for anyone who buys those.
Of course, there are those Christmas Tree watering systems that look like a gift bag. Oh, there’s NO chance that an incoming visiting child Won’t touch it!
Don’t forget the Tree Nanny watering advisor. I mean, you don’t have enough going on during the holidays.
Now you have a frickin’ device singing to you to alert you to the fact it needs to be watered. Again, who’s got the wine and where is it stashed?
Underneath The Tree – Where’s the Best Ever Christmas Tree Stand and Mat?
What do you put your tree stand on under your tree?
A Cloth? A Mat?
After all, you gotta be prepared in case of tree tipping, because whatever is here will catch the spill (right, lol, NOT!).
The best-laid plans of mice and men, never forewarn you to what is really going to happen.
Oh wait, that’s right, “this tree won’t tip over!”
‘Those be fighting words’ is all I can say. As long as it’s a live tree, in the house, with kids, a cat, a carpet, and a tree stand, that blessed devil is gonna fall!
Adding a carpet under the stand means you really have to make sure the tree is stable.
However, it also means that when the tree tips and the angel falls, you’re gonna have double the water mess to clean up.
In fact, no matter what you put under the tree, it is going to have to get removed because it will be so wet you can’t let it there.
The water will saturate that area harder and STAIN that area, (especially if you are not home when the tree falls and it begins to dry!).
All the water that is sitting there will really punish your carpet or floor.
I’m so sorry for you ahead of time, I’ve been here done this.
I actually think there is nothing worse than a fallen tree other than a kid puking on a bedspread instead of making it to the toilet (oh the joys of parenthood).
Tree Issues That Might Have Happened In Your House -Before The Best Ever Christmas Tree Stand
Perhaps you have been the lucky ‘tree holder’, the one that holds while the other belly up’s to the tree to tighten?
Did you get sap on your hand, which you failed to realize, and then got it in your hair, which you had to CUT as a result?
Have you experienced a Grizwold like Christmas scene where a RODENT was nestled in?
What fun that is right?
The capture leaves your home in a mess and kids screaming throughout!
It might sound like an amusement park in your home with this little incident.
Perhaps you had a flea infestation in the tree, that then plagues your wall and windows?
Oh, the JOY of a live tree and that’s the shortlist of mishaps.
Trust me, our home is like a scene out of a comic book and if it can… it does.
Let’s Fix Perpetual Bliss and Let It Shine On With The Best Ever Christmas Tree Stand and Mat options
Maybe we could do tabletop Christmas Trees throughout the house?
Just for the fun of it, let us discuss my issue less than a year ago.
Our tree fell in the middle of the night.
Now, this was not the first incident of trees falling in our home, but with this tree it was.
We took care of this mess, then placed the tree back up and prayed it would not happen again.
Michael even went as far as to put a loop in the ceiling to help hold the tree up.
Then there was Bella. I had to put plastic wrap around the tree stand so she would STOP drinking the tree water.
All of this led to insanity and naturally the tree fell again, during the day when I was by myself.
This time, the wretched tree broke my lifelong collection of holiday ornaments.
Unable to repair them, I wept and swore at the tree, I gave up trying to be Mary Poppins and polite.
At my ends, ready to TOSS the tree out the door, I went online and found the answer to my prayers.
Cheers to the Best Ever Christmas Tree Stand And Mat
Bye- Bye Christmas Tree Fall Over-eity forever and ever AMEN. Does that sound like a prayer?
Truthfully, I can hear Randy Travis singing, Forever And Ever, Amen every time I look at this savior!
First, I read up on this stand.
I read stories that sounded Just Like Mine.
Pretty much this was the defining moment that justified my feelings and solidified the ‘it’s not just us’ thing.
Wait, you mean other couples fight over the Christmas Tree Pine Needle Trail and all the mess?
Do you mean that others have trees that fell over in the middle of the day and the middle of the night?
There are millions suffering through Christmas Tree Fall Over-eity it’s not just our home!
You’ve arrived at the information YOU need to buy the Best Ever Christmas Tree Stand
Krinner’s Tree Genie Deluxe (in ALL sizes)
You guess it, Krinner’s Tree Genie Delux is the stand, the piece of tree wrangling that makes everything ok.
Cut the base of the tree even, and basically ‘plop’ the tree in the stand. Don’t drill a HOLE in the bottom of the tree.
Then ratchet down.
However, before we do this, we gotta back up for one minute because you already put the tree in the stand.
WeatherTech Christmas Tree Mat
Before you do this, you want the best ever Christmas Tree Mat.
The mat that will hold up to a Gallon of water IF that tree should somehow tip.
A Heavy Duty mat that will protect your floor from marring, and needles,
Before you set your tree into the Krinner, place the Krinner Stand on the WeatherTech Christmas Tree Mat.
Then (wait for it), when needles hit the surrounding floor, the mat beneath captures those directly below and the sap!
Stable. Reliable. Cleaner tree placement.
It holiday bliss insanity because it is so easy and practical. NO messes, or issues with the tree.
Using the heavy-duty mat makes cleaning up the tree a breeze without sap and needles directly below, rather than on the mat!
The Krinner Tree Stand magically keeps the tree in place.
I would NEVER buy a different mat as some are made of latex and will stain your carpet ‘if’ you spill water or anything.
We’ve read the reviews about staining and color transfer.
NO Thanks and that is why we chose the best brand WeatherTech.
WeatherTech is the original and I don’t do generic.
The price is right to avoid potential disaster.
When we are done at the end of the season, we WIPE it off, vacuum it (no sucking up a towel or the throw carpet), and put it away.
Back To the Krinner Tree Stand – Best Ever Christmas Tree Stand Inside Info
There are several different sizes of the Krinner Tree Stand. We opted for the Deluxe as it has a ‘bell’ for when you have ratcheted enough.5 Claws secure the tree trunk and the ratcheting is done via a Ratchet Pedal.
Next, the water tank holds 2 1/2 gallons and has a floating buoy in it.
As you fill, it moves up, as the tree drinks, it moves down. A very simple concept to remind you when to ‘fill’ the water.
Consider this, you are not going to be on your BELLY ever during this installation.
Steps to Set the Tree in A Krinner Tree Stand.
Cut the base of the tree even.
Place the best ever tree mat under the best ever Christmas Tree Stand.
Put the mat and base into place.
Release the foot pedal on the stand, and make sure the lock is in the upper position.
Plop (well my words) or ‘place’ the tree into the Krinner Tree Stand, and use the ratchet foot pedal to secure.
When you hear a ‘DING’ you’re done. (it’s fast like 5 seconds worth of work.)
Fill the water until the little Buoy rises.
Step Back. Admire. And hear Randy Travis croon, lol!
Congratulations on a new Christmas Tree Stand that WON’T create all the chaos YOU don’t need in your life! ~ DANA XO
