We travel a lot and while travel is a big part of what I do food goes hand-in-hand with travel. In order to be happy you have to have a full belly so that you can keep your mind on what you’re doing and have a really great time.
You all know that one of my children has serious food allergies in addition to many other severe and life-threatening allergies. Fast food is not really an option for my family, due to food allergies, some of my food restrictions, and just basic stomach intolerances of the fried fatty foods.
When we travel, I opt for healthier alternatives grilled foods that we can eat without the consequences of grease messing up our digestive systems or ingesting a nasty huge, caloric intake from fattening foods.
In Fort Myers, I sought out the best-grilled chicken and grilled chicken bowls that you could possibly find. It’s time to lavishly live life out loud and learn where to find the best of the best in grilled chicken in Fort Myers as an alternative to that fatty fried food.

Lunch today was at 8595 College ParkwayFort Myers FL 33917, also known as Patinella’s Chicken Grill. The menu is diverse from grilled chicken to grill chicken bowls to incredibly, delicious gyros and fresh salads. In fact, if you are a vegetarian you can even eat here and I much appreciated this factor as that on its own is a hard find.
Now let me offer one more fine point about the best- Grilled Chicken in Fort Myers, it was allergen-friendly so my son with severe food allergies was able to eat a grilled chicken salad without an issue. Do make sure to check with the food manager as always but we were cleared free of nuts, seafood, and latex, Yahoo!
CHOICES AND SERVICE
Get ready because when you walk in you walk up to the counter and you order and don’t worry if you are perplexed at the beginning because there are so many choices you’re not the only one, as we watched customers come in, and really give the menu a good read before ordering.
The flow of people in and out was amazing (meaning yes it is busy but everyone is taken care of… FAST). Perplexing over a menu is a positive thing because with so many great options you won’t know what to try first.
Stand there and watch the show as your food attendant will chop your chicken and prepare a bowl made to order right in front of your very eyes. The whole process from start to finish is about three minutes so who said you cannot have fast food and for fast food to be healthy? I can tell you this is One stop you definitely want to make while you were in the Fort Myers Area.
For those that are vegetarian I highly suggest a vegetarian bowl the rice and the beans are super fresh and the flavor is just bursting with each mouthful. Inside this bowl, you will find brown rice, black beans, lettuce, tomatoes and onions and grilled pita slices. Trust me, this salad is so fresh and it tastes like something I would make in my kitchen which = Very Satisfying.
If a Gyro is what you crave you can count on those being super fantastic as my son dined on one of those. The meet is cut as you stand there so it is not pre-cut and awful, rather it is cut on demand, very fresh and delicious as explained to me by my teen son.
This is the classic gyro, it has both beef and lamb in it and it is inside of a grilled pita bread. The Pitas are simply amazing.
Please note my son did not get any of the ‘goodies’ because he is way too picky.
MEXICAN RICE BOWL
Grilled Chicken, Yellow Rice, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions, Cheddar Cheese, Sour Cream, Pico and a whole lot of taste!
I did mention that Patinella’s Chicken Grill is allergen friendly and my son ate a salad, made to order with fresh grilled chicken, it was exceptional and he ate the whole thing!
SAY NO TO FAST FOOD AND YES TO GRILLED
Don’t worry about parking there is plenty of free parking and we were there at what could’ve been a very busy time but they had plenty of staff on hand to serve us and our meals were made to order in literally minutes without waiting. If you have never been here, no worries, just go in, look at the menu, ask a few questions and place that order, the staff is great! Which reminds me our personal thanks to Alain and Katie for helping us make all the right decisions for dining!
Your next stop should be at Patinella’s Chicken Grill, so pass up all of those fast food places that you see and head right over. Fresh is always on the menu, grilled is better than fried and there is something for everyone from Allergen friendly dining to vegetarian and for all of those meat lovers in between!
