So, this may be more helpful for those in Pittsburgh (in-particular) but the one main component in this article will help EVERYONE In the USA find covid vaccine sites.

The Lovely Pandemic and All Its Issues

First, the pandemic brought toilet paper shortages.

Then we couldn’t get sanitizer or disinfectant.

Masks, material, elastic, and the like were unavailable, and now, well, vaccinations for COVID are hard to schedule online!

So where do we look for Covid Vaccine Sites?

First know, you need an appointment, but I will share a HOT TIP with you keep reading because there are some ways around an appointment! (scroll to bottom)

So it’s no secret, there’s no love loss between me and the great old ‘burgh’.

Slow, behind, and generally too quiet compared to anywhere I’ve ever traveled!

As a travel writer, I always say, ‘Anywhere but here!’

That is why I travel, to keep seeing the real world, and all it has to offer.

But unless I have this vaccination, it’s kind of Here or HERE.

I literally can’t take any more of this pandemic. You too?

No one that I know!

The Upside and The Downside of Limited Covid Vaccines

While it has brought families together like never before, it’s also taken a toll on our emotional health.

There’s nothing to do, nowhere to go, and I can’t stand lifeless binge-watching!

In fact, if you are like me, you might even have had enough of the Hallmark Channel and their ‘love-struck girl has to leave big city job to be with her high school sweetheart in the sticks to make it work!” Get over that storyline and move forward to a Covid Vaccine.

Get real Hallmark, the only thing we need to leave is our couches and homes.

We want to work, go to school, socialize and thrive again!

Here’s What I Have Learned About the Covid Vaccine

In fact, it’s not as elusive as you might think, you just have to know where to look and when.

It seems like it’s more of a hunt-it-down kind of game than it should be.

We all need it and why are we not following in the footsteps of California with mass vaccination sites?

Perhaps (my city) good old Pittsburgh, is just slow and not as progressive as most other states?

Here’s the thing, after visiting New Mexico, and seeing some of the repressed, depressed areas, it’s hard to believe that their vaccination rates are sky high and complete!

Why?

As a travel writer, I’ve got to tell you New Mexico seems like it lives in a time zone of its own, not one we follow and I mean nothing rude by it.

What I do mean to do is challenge our states as to why we seem much more fluid, and advanced, and have more medical staff than most states, and yet, we are toxically behind the eight balls on dosing the Covid Vaccine.

Now that you have located the Covid Vaccine sites in your area, it’s time to really gain control!

Go to this (2) Pharmacy Website, and well you better be quick because, it’s not always up to ‘snuff’ and will lock you out, or into an appointment, you can’t lock in!

Oh, why? Because apparently even though you can see it, it’s not available!

Start Over.

But before you get too excited check here to see how many vaccines they actually have!

But keep at it, you MIGHT actually get an appointment.

Now What About Those Big Powerhouses We Shop At?

Try this one, but don’t expect all of these warehouse clubs (3) to vaccinate.

Are you about to become a Walmart Groupie (4)?

Yeah, if you can get a vaccine there, do it!

Grocery Store Pharmacies

We have (5) Giant Eagle, they have by far, been the biggest ‘ass-kickers if you ask me.

They have so many stores, and locations, and staff and appointments.

Check their site and check again!

If you don’t have a Giant Eagle, then look at your BIGGER grocery stores, my bet they will get the vaccines.

Covid Vaccine Other Options

Make sure to check out (6) CVS too, because I see that they are starting to vaccinate as well.

For those that Have UPMC – Good luck, because you won’t find any vaccine schedules.

But, if you are lucky enough to have Highmark, they’ve had some great larger vaccine drives.

LAST BIG TIP AND THIS ONE COUNTS FOR EVERYTHING!

For anyone who is just exhausted from trying to get an appointment and NOT scoring it, here’s how to approach this.

When our city had the big ‘4000’ vaccine day at Heinz field, they were ALL Scheduled appointments.

But guess what.

People make appointments and don’t show up even to the covid vaccine sites.

Therefore, a few people I know, showed up at the end of the day (when the last appointments were) and got the vaccination with NO APPOINTMENT.

This also happened at the PNC/AGH clinic the previous week.

And It Works At Many Covid Vaccine Sites

So, true to tale, at the end of the day, as the pharmacist explained to a person with NO appointment at Giant Eagle the other day, “come back at the end of the day, people don’t show up, we can take care of it then!” “If we have unused vaccines from the day, that is how we handle it!”

Most of us live near some store, pharmacy, large warehouse club, or clinic that is happening, so go at the end of the day.
