Holiday inspiration comes in all forms. Sometimes I am passing by decor in a store and I think, ” I could totally rock a DIY with that” and guess what? I buy the materials and create my own holiday project. As holiday tunes blast on from my speakers, my fingers move through this simple holiday DIY.
The holiday season is one of both the sweet and sour temperaments, depending on the stress levels in our day. My DIY glow in the dark candy-filled ornament is perfect for those crazy days and mood swings.

GRAB YOUR INGREDIENTS
Use any candy you want like those pictured below, gummy bears, fish, whatever you like and whatever fits inside the ornament opening. Mix up the colors, and enjoy all the different flavors, this is supposed to be a fun project! There are no wrong colors when it comes to creativity.
I advise buying a few extra bags because you will have small customers that will want to enjoy the tasting party before it all goes together!
12 Sour Punch® Blue Assorted Bites®
10 sour Punch® Raging Reds Bites®
6″ tulle in white
1 Clear Ornament ( I suggest plastic)
a Glow Stick
HOW TO
First get the tulle into the ornament, by taking off the top and placing tulle in.
You can use the glow stick to get a little help with the ‘pushing in’.
Next, add the Sour Punch® Raging Reds Bites®.
Then you will want to mix in the Sour Punch® Blue Assorted Bites®.
Finally, it’s got to be lit, so crack a glow stick ( I buy them in bulk on Amazon)
Bend the glow stick and push it on into the bulb. Super easy to do.
Doesn’t it look great? This is perfect for decorating a tree when everyone is over and letting it glow. My other idea is to do this to let Santa’s Reindeer find your home on the night of Christmas Eve! Light up a tree outside for ONE night, no electricity required.
Replace the top and enjoy your new DIY glow in the dark, candy-filled ornament.
Enjoy the glowing of a sweet and sour DIY ornament. Pass them out, keep them for yourself, load your tree! You never know which day you want to taste sweet things or what day might be sour, so you are covered! Lavishly live the holidays out loud! ~DANA

I love the glowing in the dark idea really colorful. I have a question I have not understood if later on we will be able to eat the sweets or they will be in the bulb forever?
I really love the idea behind the candy filled bulbs. I don’t think I can get my hands on the items but I can try. Thanks for the article.

I swear this is the cutest DIY holiday project I’ve ever seen! We have no kids at home but we still tried doing this and had loads of fun.

This is a great project to try with kids. Thank you for the post and if you have any similar DIY kindly post them.
This is an amazing DIY. plus when i get really sweet toothed, i have a De-lightful reserve. Your post is on point.
Looks like a fun DIY for kids. Hopefully the decor wouldn’t get ants though.
” I buy the materials and create my own holiday project.” What I think that, if you have free time, you can work as your like. Then, you might find good to see your creativity.
Interesting idea! I’m pretty sure that this will be totally sold out to the kids this holiday season. That said, while the glow stick touch is terrific, is it totally safe to mix it directly with Sour Punch? Pardon my ignorance but I was wondering if there would be some sort of chemical reaction here and there between the stick and the candy.
Otherwise, looks super!
the glow stick stays in it’s container — self contained no mixing and in our house the candy inside hardly stays long enough

Awesome holiday idea! Is purely sour punch the candy of choice or do you think it’s fine if we go into mix-ins with gummy worms?
Not that the candy choice matters but I thought I’d ask anyway.
I think you can mixin anything you like, I chose Sourpunch both sweet and sour

Hi. Those candy-filled ornaments are really in for the Season! Thumbs up to you for coming up with a simple and personalized project that you can actually us as Christmas decor and party give-aways!
The DIY glow in the dark ornament is very interesting. You deserve an award for your creativity and display ideas for the holiday season.
Wow! I can definitely use this as a decorarion for our Christmas tree! And since it has a glow in the dark stick in it I would not need to put on some christmas lights. Less electrical bill for us, plus the candies in it, less gifts to wrap for the kids dropping by. This DIY ornament is really a great idea for the holliday season.
Your DIYs are always so creative Dana. I love doing DIY projects but reality is always far from expectations. :(. I assume the glow stick loses its glow after some time so there is a need to replace it every now and then.
Kids are going to love this and if you’re feeling generous they can take it home as souvenirs during family gatherings. This is a really creative and fun idea. I wish I thought of it myself!
This will not last long!!! LOL I imagine if a kid or even I see this and I eat it. Christmas light no more ha ha.
They won’t last long but that’s the spirit of Christmas
