Edible Flowers and Herb Schmear
First and foremost, have you tried my Romantic Petals and Herb Butter? You gotta! Then, you will understand why I am obsessed with this schmear! Talk about yummy edible flowers!
Now, the most important thing you can do to prepare for this edible flowers and herb schmear is to buy or make fresh baguette bread! Oh, the crust of the baguette, against the smooth texture of this schmear just sings! This gourmet mixture combines butter and herbs to create a fresh new flavor.
Fresh Butter That Will Soon Enjoy Edible Flowers
Never use butter that has been in your refrigerator for a while. The stick might have captured flavors from within the fridge and that will make this taste nasty! So, you do want to purchase fresh butter. Also, your herbs and fresh edible flowers should be purchased on the same day.
No old ingredients unless you want to taste what I term ‘wilt’ in your mouth! As far as the butter goes, I used salted, I prefer a taste that has a little something in it. Yes, you can use unsalted butter if that is how you roll! Do not melt the butter to get the softness you need to mix.
Allow the butter to come to room temperature on the countertop. If you microwave the butter you will WILT and harm the ingredients.
Presentation & What I Know!
Yes, you certainly could put this on a plate. Or you can put it on a piece of parchment paper. Last, you can also put it on a cutting board. My favorite is parchment. When we are done, I just toss it out!
That is why I love parchment.
Plus, I know from experience there will be no edible flower and herb schmear left!
It’s fetching to look at and it’s the first ‘appetizer’ to go when I set it out.
DO place either disposable knives for spreading or butter knives for grabbing.
One should not RUN Their baguette and hands through this that is just gross unless it’s you and date only!
