Oh how I love an easy recipe. Weeknights are crazy in my house. Between work, homework, kids, errands and sports, it just kind of gets insane! My solution is my go to appliance the Instant Pot. Don’t get all worked up if you don’t have an Instant Pot because Electric Pressure cookers will cook your meal just as well!
I believe that the best recipes are those that are simple ingredients, some fresh, some prepared and a good variety of meats. Choose meat you love and then add in a few ingredients and before you know it, recipe that will have your family begging for more is in front of their faces!
As a travel gal, I noticed that a lot of places offer BBQ Beef plates, and I am not going to sit here and try to go super fancy, not my style. Rather, I recreate a recipe and keep it simple. Who has time for fancy? Not in this lifetime! Here is my Casa Vento famous Instant Pot tangy BBQ Beef Bites! Are you ready to make your own?
Instant Pot Tangy BBQ Beef Bites
We have done a lot of western travel and the more travel I do, the more beef I see. Now, my family loves their beef nights, but I have to vary what they are eating. This recipe is asked for each week. How do I change it up? Well that is simple, just change the BBQ Sauce. There’s not a whole lot to the recipe and easy is best, right?
You can sub in pork or chicken too, but make sure they are bite size pieces. Working with bite size pieces allows me to easily figure out how much to put on each person’s plate. Dishing out too much results in waste and that’s not my thing. I use cubed meats so that I can easily gauge how much more or less we need per meal. Try it, you will love it.
TIP To KNOW
Tip ~~ Buy bulk cubes at your warehouse clubs (Sam’s, Costco, BJ’s etc) the price per pound is so much better than your local store. Of course you can always buy meat and cut it, but again, time-saving steps are critical in our busy worlds.
Meat, Which Meat?
Pick your favorite cut of beef to work with, that is why I don’t list one. Also, we all have our favorite BBQ Sauces, so while I have one in my photo that is a brand it is just one of a dozen I use. No, I don’t make my own BBQ Sauce for this recipe, that would not be a shortcut. If you want to make your own, knock your socks off, I prefer fast and easy!
Why do I dilute the BBQ sauce? To be honest, I know my crew likes it thicker but I feel like it enhances the flavor more rather than the sticky substance alone, again that’s just IMO! So what are the ingredients? Here check them out and make your shopping list!
INGREDIENTS
2 Pounds of Beef Cubes
2 Tablespoons of oil (coating bottom of IP Liner)
2 Tablespoons garlic minced
1 C Tangy BBQ Sauce + ½ C water
Directions
Add Oil to Instant Pot liner. (see above). Then place beef and minced garlic into the pot. Truly there is nothing to this, I just add in the ingredients and stir! Look how it is in the pot. Press Sauté and sauté cubes until brown, just about 5 minutes total. Make sure to turn.
Next, turn off Sauté mode and add in Tangy BBQ and water. Seal lid, Press Meat to 24 minutes. Allow to cook, then release either natural or immediate – depends on how fast you need your meal! Want to see how it looks just after it was cooked? I got you!
Serve with veggies, potatoes and a salad! Let’s plate this up and get another look, shall we? So I think it needed some BBQ to look fancier, don’t you agree? Guess what I did? Go to the next image to see. Even though the meat was filled with flavor, a little creativity goes a long way! Right?
Well, I told you I did more, I wanted it to look fab and it does, when it gets topped off, just a bit. After all, it’s about more when you eat and not less! Well, that is what I think. What do you think?
Yep, much better presentation! Enjoy your meal, because it was easy to make and tastes so great. The Instant Pot is a must have appliance in the kitchen! Remember, this will work in any Electric Pressure Cooker too, I just prefer the Instant Pot Brand. ~ DANA XO
