My Dining Experience at Fahrenheit Grill Inside Clontarf Castle

February 12, 2020 By Dana Vento Leave a Comment

Steak, Clontarf Castle in the Fahrenheit Grill Inside the Clontarf Castle resides a 2 Rosette Culinary-Winning restaurant.

Simply translated it is a fine dining establishment in Ireland that is highly regarded.

The Fahrenheit Grill offers evening dining with an A La Carte Menu.

Conversely, the Fahrenheit Grill presents an outstanding artisan castle breakfast *.

We actually dined at both, the dinner and the breakfast.

Travel is tiresome and we arrived ahead of our 2 week+ tour of Ireland to rid jetlag in order to properly endure the trip.

As a foodie, seeking out the experience of a 2 Rosette Award winner was a big check off my box of ‘wants’.

Dressed and ready to capture my new experience, we left our room, walked through the lobby and navigated via elevator to the restaurant.

We never left the building. It’s gorgeous, just like the Clontarf Castle, as it is part of the Castle.

Let’s travel to the Fahrenheit Grill and tempt your palate.

My Dining Experience Inside Clontarf Castle

Fahrenheit Grill

Our meal was hosted by the Fahrenheit Grill, opinions are my own, based on my personal dining experience.

Fahrenheit Grill Clontarf CastleDinner at the Fahrenheit as compared to artisan castle breakfast dining is literally night and day.

While the food is equally comparable, the ambiance changes greatly.

Which did I prefer? I’ll never tell, but, I will suggest that you definitely try both experiences.

Neither is a bad choice and each provides a lasting memory.

 Dinner  at the Fahrenheit Grill

We walked about 10 miles today in Dublin, maybe more.

Voracious and following the trail of savory our stomachs were begging to be fed on something other than Guinness.

Trust me, I think my husband stock-piled his limit while we were in Ireland, lol!

menu at Fahrenheit Grill Clontarf CastleHow do you dress for dinner? Smart Casual.

Most were in some form of dress pants, some ladies had on business jackets with jeans.

No one was turned away.

Appetizers to entrees are modestly portioned.

Experience very on-trend fine dining, situated conveniently in the Clontarf Castle Hotel. ♥

Overall Dining Experience at the Fahrenheit Grill ~ Service

I will give this a 4/5.

As you read on, you will see the food was incredible, but our initial seating was bumpy.

Smoother roads ahead?

Window Seating at Fahrenheit Grill Clontarf CastleService was not as anticipated. It was slower.

Our server did not interact with us, as far as dialogue, more of just an order taker.

Atypical of my normal restaurant visits, no matter the country.

It was almost as though we were unexpected guests that appeared, though we were with a reservation.

Being honest, the couple next to us, had about the same experience.

Interesting ambiance. The tables are close together.

We were seated in the middle of the restaurant.

Window Seating at Fahrenheit Grill Clontarf CastleThe window seat is amazing, and there was a small party there.

Once they left, I had to grab that photo. Request this seating!

Once the dust settled, about 1/2 hour into our seating, things began to come together.

Wine ~ Go for the Bottle at the Fahrenheit Grill

I say go for the bottle!

Wine at Fahrenheit Grill Clontarf CastleWe began with wine, a bottle of house wine.

What better way to begin a 14-day journey around Ireland? Cheers.

 Appetizer’s at the Fahrenheit Grill.

Salad at Fahrenheit Grill Clontarf CastleAbout one cup of Arugula is centered on the plate.

Dressed, local, high-quality and unyielding to dressing.

Perfect in its presentation.

Colorfully displayed and lively in the palate.

Bread ~ All-in For The Best Carbs Ever

There are simply no words to describe the outstanding taste and texture of this bread.

bread at Fahrenheit Grill Clontarf Caslte Dublin

Uncommon and fit-for-the-gods.

Ok, so I love my carbs.

Chesnut Mushroom Volute

What was Michael eating?

I could not wait to see his reaction.

Not at all what I expected.

Chestnut Mushroom Velote Fahrenheit Grill Clontarf Castle

Everything he did expect and more!

Pickled Shimeji.Mushrooms found in Northern Europe.

Buttery, nutty and paired in this dish with White Truffle Oil.

Palate-pleasing. Sinfully delectable.

Share-worthy.

Scallops ~ entree at the Fahrenheit Grill

scallops at Fahrenheit Grill Clontarf Castle2 delectable wild-caught, locally sourced scallops.

Divine. Celebrated on a large plate.

Satisfying, layered with flavor.

Recommended.

Slow-Braised FeatherBlade

FeatherBlade is Petite in portion size.

I’d compare the size to a very Petite Filet Mignon in size, perhaps shy in size sameness, but you get the idea.

For those reading this in the USA, it’s a Flat Iron Steak.

When this cut of meat is braised or slow-cooked it can be fork tender.

The meat was fork-tender. Creative preparation leads to lip-smacking bliss.

FeatherBlade Plated with pure barley, mushroom puree, and glazed root vegetables.

Well-executed. Uncommon in name, but very common in the USA.

Enticing to look at.

The meat was full-flavored and sumptuous.

 Signature Experience

Having dined all around Ireland, this definitely is an elevated dining experience in sharp contrast to all other places Michael and I dined.

Elegant, sophisticated, and kindly located within the Clontarf Castle Hotel, you really can’t go wrong with this choice for dining.

I would suggest reservations.
