When we travel it seems that the hunger and relaxing go hand-in-hand. Here’s the scene: It’s late at night and the crew wants to eat. Do you start making food or do you just try to make something easy? When we are at the beach and hanging out all day, the kids seem to have hunger that sets in non-stop.
Generally, after relaxing at night it was time for a midnight snack between 11 -12 at night. Really, I was much too tired after the full days of fun we had put in to create too much that late at night but we wanted something delicious and easy.
This recipe makes the salted caramel flavor dance across your lips and into your mouth and it will have you coming back for more than just the six pack you create! These were also allergen free for my one son(so he could eat this too), but make sure to check the ingredients because what is allergen free in our home may not be allergen free in yours.
My one find was a true SCORE as Salted Caramel is so delicious and can pretty much put a tamper on any craving after a small taste. Here’s to lavishly living food out loud with Salted Caramel Pretzels.
Snack Attack
Thankfully we had a wonderful kitchen in our beach rental home and a great store close by that I bought everything we would need to eat as I know the kids are always hungry. As you can see in my video it was about 11:20 PM at night, and the kids were just finished watching a movie, and suddenly they were hungry.
Salted Caramel Pretzels
I went to the freezer, grabbed the Soft Pretzels, and then to the pantry for the Salted Caramel Sauce and got ready to create a little fiesta without much work. Thankfully, we had shopped earlier and I had the key ingredients I needed to make this treat! A few dishes later, and a few microwave programmings later and we were all set to eat!

Salted Caramel Pretzels
Ingredients
- 1 Box of Soft Pretzels
- 1 Jar of Smucker's Salted Caramel Sauce
Instructions
- Prepare Pretzels according to box
- Warm Salted Caramel Sauce in the microwave
- Place Sauce over cooked pretzels by drizzling with a spoon
- Serve
If you have not made soft pretzels before, they are microwave easy, and turn out perfect each time. The key to the microwave pretzel is to not cook more than the suggested time or they will get hard. I will also note that you may want to add LESS salt than we did, as it might be too salty for your tastes, however, you can adjust this as you experiment with them, that is just based on what I prefer.
The Salted Caramel Sauce is delicious but it must be heated in order to spread or drizzle easily and a little goes a long way. We did not make dipping piles on the side as it was perfect with just drizzling. My one son dunked to try more, but found that more was not better it was just more!
