PLAN AHEAD
Don’t just dream about that vacation, start planning it right now. Hopefully you can book the home of your dreams for big families. We love rental homes and rental properties but I am so very careful what rental agency or what brand we identify with. I want a perfect vacation that screams luxury on the outside but lets me just hang out on the inside. Perphaps that is why our vacation rental at Wyndham has been one of my favorite.
Food Allergies & Lodging
As a mom of a child with severe food allergies it was so important to me to be able to be in control of the foods my son ate, in order to have a safe, and non-adventurous vacation to the hospital! Finding a rental home with a well-stocked kitchen was definitely important so we did not have to haul our entire kitchen with us.
Wyndham Vacation Rentals made time at the Outer Banks that could just have been ordinary suddenly extraordinary. In addition having a rental home set me at ease for the ultimate BEACH vacation.
OUTER BANKS NORTH CAROLINA
We headed out on a road trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, in fact July was National Rental Month so lots of you were traveling too! My family had never been to the Outer Banks before but all of our friends and neighbors go on and on about it here so I thought, ‘yeah let’s do this!”
What we expected was just a basic Beach house but there so much more delivered and our expectations were exceeded and that was because we were with Hatteras Realty, by Wyndham Vacation Rentals.
There are other realty options available in the Outer Banks but why get involved with a person who owns all of the Outer Banks and adds to their gluttony. What I found out from many local business owners, is that the conglomerate that attempts to RUN the Outer Banks is not the best, they are just there, and they don’t make stays great, they just make stays.
Let me show you something different, a company that has stepped foot out of an island, and offers rentals in many locations(not just the obx), adores properties, rentals and providing all their clients with the BEST experience possible.
Hatteras Realty By Wyndham Vacation Rentals
How does this all work? I mean, you want to go to the beach and you need to rent a home, how do you do it? That’s simple, go to the Wyndham Vacation Rentals website, and find your location, they offer so many desirable locations you are sure to find one that meets your wants. As we did this, we found out that the Outer Banks has so many different home rental options, over 550 in the area, from Hatteras Realty by Wyndham Vacation Rentals. Hatteras Realty is the local division that manages and meets your vacation lodging needs. When you get to Hatteras Island, you simply head to the local office(they are all on Highway 12 and they are each dedicated to your area of lodging), grab your keys and set into a great vacation.
CHECK IN
Check-In Time is 3 PM but if you get there earlier, no worries as Hatteras Realty has Club Hatteras, that offer changing rooms, a snack pavilion and plenty of swimming so you can just kick back, grab the sun and let the vacation begin! I can personally tell you that if you are coming from PA, you will get hinged in traffic heading down through Maryland, etc and what would have been a shorter drive ended up with about 2 extra hours, so we did not get to the pool until AFTER we checked in. Get on Google and see what your timing is and plan accordingly.
Meet our beach rental in Avon, it was known as the Drumstick and it was so very close to the beach, about 250 Feet. We walked out our back door, onto a path and we were there. By day, our decks wrapped around our home, we could see Sound Side with ease and watch those that were Kite Sailing and we could visit there easily with a small bicycle into Kinnakeet Shores.
Life in Avon is laid back, quiet and really simple, but the rental homes that are offered by Hatteras Realty by Wyndham Vacation Rentals are anything but basic, they are outstanding!
LARGE AND MANY FAMILIES
Have a large family? Multiple families? Have a family and friends? You are in luck if you have found my article as Hatteras Realty by Wyndham Vacation Rentals makes staying together a blast! Package up a large home with multiple decks, large rooms, and plenty of beach and pool and you suddenly have the recipe for a successful vacation. Now add in the fact that if you kids have food allergies, or you really just area a HOMEBODY you can stay home and eat every single night!
My kids are at that age where food is necessary every few hours and they like to help themselves. When they saw their kitchen, they were all too happy to help out loading up the fridge and the pantry with food so they could snack. The kitchen is warm, inviting and perfect when you have kids that are growing and need to eat round the clock or when you have a child with severe food allergies like I do.
Close by, in the Avon shops is a Food Lion which makes all foods possible. We frequented this grocery store over and over. The weather was hot, my kids were craving bottled water, and tons of snacks after bike riding and beach going, so, where better to get all the food? Food Lion. My kids loved being able to pick their own foods, and stock the fridge, just like home! I loved it because I knew my son with food allergies could eat when he wanted and what he wanted!
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and Happy Hour all were facilitated in our home and we had to do nothing, but hang out there.
The beach was a mere 250 Ft from the house, a hot tub sat upon our one deck level and all the rooms had sliding doors that opened to deck areas. The A/C was cranking and met the match of the outdoor heat that had all of us melting as the heat index was way beyond the norm, but it all was good, because any day in Wyndham Vacation Rentals is a good day!
Before I move on, I have to share this photo with you, it really illuminates the beauty of the beach home as well as captures the beach vibe, it might be my favorite photo of our trip! You can see the 2 car ports below, where we parked our cars, bikes and the trash containers.
My personal favorite view was the one by the deck at night, as we sat and dined on our top level deck. The sunset, the other homes, and all of the people passing by walking and enjoying the weather just made a great night! We dined here at night, rather than in the kitchen, and yes there was a picnic table, but we liked to kick back in these chairs and just watch everything going on. We would see people passing by below, walking their pets, and riding bikes and some heading back to the beach for some fun without the sun! There was the constant activity, yet it was very quiet.
My kids loved the fact that they could just go in the kitchen and prepare what they wanted when they wanted, and honestly so did I. The family room was just relaxing time, and you can see the smiles on the kids from ear-to-ear.
Our favorite room by far was our Family Room, that was located on the top floor of the house by the kitchen. In this particular room, you can find a wet bar, a kitchen, a wrap around deck as well as a large screen television that let the kids watch their favorite shows while I worked.
Each room offered a bathroom, a comfortable, CLEAN bed and of course, space. As a mom with kids, it is so important to travel and have space. Teens, as you know, are challenging and being able to separate each child and allow them some breathing room is critical to a pleasant vacation. We WERE NOT stacked like sardines in a can, rather everyone had a room and everyone used their room when we were actually in the house to just relax a bit. I love that I did not have to pick up each day and worry about maid service coming in and cleaning up around us, we kept it tidied, but we ran in and out and grabbed what we needed, and it was so much less stressful without having that worry of,”Oh I forgot to pick up!” who needs that on vacation!!!!
The privacy of the hot tub on the one deck level, and the easy access in and out of the hot tub was a true plus. We could access all the rooms on this level via sliding doors and we could see to the ocean and throughout the neighborhood as we just sat here and relaxed at the end of each day!
What makes this home perfect for multiple families as well as other homes that Hatteras Realty by Wyndham Vacation Rentals offers? The multiple floors, separated by decks and bathrooms, giving everyone a living space, even if you are traveling in large groups.
The ability to be separated but unified under ONE roof is amazing. We watched many families in homes marked Hatteras Realty, grilling, swimming and enjoying all levels of decks and rooms as we walked by each day. It is reaffirming to see that other families need space but togetherness at the same time. Wyndham Vacation Rentals is a brand that is world renowned and offers great accommodations and clean living.
As a person who craves the luxury lifestyle and prides herself on being a lifestyle expert, I have to say KUDOS to Hatteras Realty by Wyndham Vacation Rentals on facilitating a perfectly amenified (yes I made that word up) home, that meets every vacation whim and desire you might have or need to relax. The cleanliness of the rooms, the bathrooms, and the well fully stocked kitchen made it easy to just be… after all what is a vacation in the OBX if you can’t just sink in and become part of the laid back atmosphere?
