Sea-lebrities. Now you see, I am not the big fish in this story, it’s all about Bonefish Grill(lol) I love my job, especially when it allows me to meet great people, in great places, who are creating the difference between an austere meal and an authentic, dining experience, which is what Bonefish Grill provides.
I don’t know about you, but I find dining out in many ‘chain’ restaurants is often rushed, and it seems as if it is about table flipping and not the dining experience. Dining out is a time to catch up, unwind, and let the world behind in the time you carved out, so I am all about experience, trying something new, and breaking the stereotypes and so is the Bonefish Grill. A new restaurant in the Pittsburgh Area, is The Bonefish Grill and while it is not a new restaurant(54 in Florida alone), it is anything but your emblematic ‘chain’ restaurant. This visit we were meeting the “Sea-lebrities” that are making an appearance near you in your local Bonefish Grill! These are limited time offers so make sure you read this and see why you have to indulge. In the case that you are a seafood lover, you can satisfy your pang for delectable seafood with all of the divine dishes that we sampled and more at Bonefish Grill. Luxury is not cooking and dining out instead. We lavishly lived our dining out loud, here’s my night, my menu picks, my sampling so you can see why you want to swim with Bonefish Grill! This is my first visit to Bonefish, because we never were sure if our kids with allergies could eat there(Gluten Free, Nuts, Latex, and seafood). However, our visit has added a whole new world for our family as they are an Allergen Friendly restaurant in addition to offering the most fresh, hand prepared foods you will find in a restaurant that has numerous establishments! Meet Angie, she was awesome sauce for a server and rocked our Bonefish Grill experience leading us through details of the menu, ingredients, foods and specials. That said, our host for the night, Tim(the General Manager) had a menu sampling planned that stimulated our taste buds, tantalized our olfactory, heated our mouths and offered sweets to our bellies. Let’s get the party started: as anyone knows a great dining experience starts with a a great beverage and these are 5 star drinks. We sampled a Raspberry Vodka Collins($6 everyday), Fresh Pineapple Martini(the St. Germaine Elderflower liqueur and homemade vanilla bean simple syrup combine for an impressive taste), Fresh Raspberry Martini(freshly muddled red raspberries and fresh squeezed lemon juice make this a prodigious libation) and my personal favorite the Ocean Trust Tropical Heat Martini. My mouth was warmed up and treated to a stunning flavor, as the glass is rimmed with mango and jalapeno and the freshly muddle mango and lemon juice create a a sweet treat, relaxing the shock of the jalapeno heat. This is a must try and for each Ocean Trust Tropic Heat Martini sold, Bonefish Grill will donate $1 to Ocean Trust to help conserve and protect our oceans. Now that we started to saturate our palate with libations, it was time to bring on the appetizers and Angie arrived with Bang Bang Shrimp, that I just had to try. Everyone talks about these(remember my mom lives in Florida), so I have been wondering what makes a BANG BANG, and I can tell you now it is the spicy sauce! These are shrimp that are crispy and sit atop a bed of greens. Served with chopsticks that I failed miserably using, I just picked up the fork, dug in and let the ‘h’eating fest begin. They are not that hot, but they have a nice light kick to them, enough to make it warm enough to sense but then the flavor backs down and BANG BANG Shrimp beckon you again. My solution, drink a bit, eat more(lol). Now one appetizer is NEVER enough, so it was time to conquer Maryland – well, Maryland Crab Cakes. These are jumbo lump crab cakes served with a red remoulade(a little fiery, woot woot!), no fillers, no bread crumbs, just honest to goodness jumbo lump crab meat deliciousness! (look up with the photo of Bang Bang to see the crab cakes) It’s now time for dinner and bread! The bread is a flat bread, that has pumpkin seeds through it(again working with allergens to allow everyone to enjoy) and the dipping oil had a pesto taste and I kept on dipping. I even created my own concoction of bread with red remoulade because that remoulade is delicious. Yes, do you see this seafood feast? My motto the night at Bonefish Grill: “seafood and eat it” and we did. My husband coveted that plate of Misoyaki Chilean Sea Bass to the last bite, as it was flaky, tender, and you could taste the smoked hard-wood lightly teasing the palate. My 2 favorites were the Cold Water Lobster Tail(I squeezed lemon) and the Lobster Stuffed Shrimp because the lemon caper butter sauce just brought the flavors together! The veggies of the night were broccoli, zucchini and tomatoes and haricot verts(my personal fav). You can see I created an a la carte plate adding everything on the table to my dish! What meal would be complete without the perfect dessert? In our case, 2 desserts and a cappuccino. Brewed to perfection and topped with a nice froth, you could practically taste the fresh coffee beans, creating an perfect cup of cappuccino. The desserts boasted flavors like fresh vanilla bean, cream, whipped topping, fresh biscuits, strawberries, key lime, pecan and graham cracker crust, all creating a vacation from the ordinary. True enough strawberry shortcake may not get your tongue wagging, but when strawberries are perfectly ripe, sitting in a bowl of creme anglaise and whipped cream(all hand-crafted in house) and sprigged with a mint there are just no words to describe this artistic, satisfying, fresh dessert. What dessert could possibly offer a challenge to Strawberry Shortcake? 7 words: Key Lime Pie Bonefish Grill style. This pie offered a graham cracker pecan crust and that is working from the bottom up:) The Key Lime was light, yet thicker, like a cheesecake and the tart factor of a lime was definable as we devoured this confection.
Luxury is having a wide array of choices available to dine on with remarkable service, and the true attention to detail of each ingredient! In the mood for some innovative, fresh dishes from meat, veggies to seafood, the “Sea-lebrities” are waiting for you and mom, at Bonefish Grill. Lavishly life life out loud dining at the Bonefish Grill, spark up your taste and enjoy new foods without cooking. The Bonefish Grill is in a neighborhood near you!
