The Decisions Before You Create
Super Easy To Make Easter Dirt Cups With Peeps
We all know Dirt cups are pretty much sandwich cookies for the dirt and pudding for below. You do however have many options within this spectrum, so here’s an overview.
Decide if you want to make this with white dirt (vanilla creme cookies) or with brown dirt (dark chocolate creme cookies). That’s the first big decision of the day, really hard right? Not at all!
Next, do you want chocolate pudding or vanilla pudding? If you are making 2 batches, then you can do one of each, it’s that simple. Also, you can always use skim milk to keep the fat at bay and cut calories as well.
Finally, choose the color Peeps you want to use, there are so many and it is a festive, fun-color season so have a good time, mixing and matching because anything goes.
Make pudding according to box instructions. Also, remember if you want fewer calories, opt for skim milk or coconut milk, etc. (do consider food allergies too).
14 Sandwich cookies (use a food processor to create)
3.5 Oz package of the pudding – flavor your choice ( I prefer vanilla or chocolate)
Milk for pudding (prepare according to box instructions)
4 custard bowls
First, get your bowls and evenly divide the pudding mixture between each bowl.
Next, take the ground up cookies and cover the pudding with them. Don’t overfill the custard bowls with pudding, you need room for the cookie crumbled dirt. Also, keep in mind you need to place a Peep on here as well.
Let’s have a look at how this should work. Really it is not hard, you just have to sprinkle the dirt over the pudding and you are almost done with this marvelous creation. Easy right?
Now it’s all about putting that little Peep atop the dirt and making sure to add some fun and festive sprinkles. Try not to eat all of the ingredients, because they will taunt you the whole time!
Also, you need to remember that you will get chocolate crumbs all over your mouth and then get busted for eating while preparing, lol.
Ah, I think he looks lonely, let’s make it a bit fancier shall we? A color pop solves everything, so add sprinkles for the season. I found these in our local grocery store. Adorable? Yep!
There’s nothing to this recipe. Simple. Yummy and so festive. Do refrigerate if you are not using till later as you have made pudding and dairy needs to be refrigerated. Enjoy! ~ Dana Xo
