There are so many fun things to do when you are in the Central Florida vicinity, but some of the greatest things are not noticed, or never considered. Those that know the area best are the staff at the lodging facilities and sometimes you will be amazed what you might learn if you open up and ask a few questions. Why The Hard Rock Hotel Orlando Rocks
Luxurious, lush gardens surround the pool, movies at night in the pool and a bar to die for all are amenities you will find at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando, but the lavishness does not stop there. Perhaps you know me well from all my writing and you know that I travel with children who have food allergies and that makes planning a must. It’s not just the proximity to the park, or the beautifully scaped grounds and architecture, rather it is the staff that creates the ambiance.
I have found that a few places just have gone out of their way to accommodate and other’s not so much! We have worked around all the issues by finding places that offer Gluten Free, Latex Free, Nut Free, and Shellfish Free foods. I will provide you an exclusive dining list from my kid connoisseurs as they know best! We have spoken to the chef’s at both Universal and the Hard Rock Orlando and they are ready and waiting! But what would planning a trip be without a VIP Concierge who has helped me with the Hard Rock Hotel and The Hard Rock Cafe as well as any other questions and concerns that I have come up with including receiving my KIA Sorento in my absence.
The Hard Rock VIP Concierge made my planning effortless, and easy and she really cared about my children and their dietary needs. When I meet someone special in life, someone that goes the extra mile, and helps me to calm down while planning a rather intense vacation with all the events scheduled, I want everyone to know about it. Great service is hard to find, but finding someone who cares about their job, and the anticipated guests is a quality and a treasure that far and few between hold!
I have had the pleasure of planning the Hard Rock Hotel piece of my trip with the VIP Concierge at the Hard Rock Orlando and she has been able to help me even with my type A, over-planning traits, she just takes me in stride. I asked her if I could interview her and here is what all I think you should know! Get to know the VIP Concierge, you never know when you will get to meet her and you definitely want to know her!
ME: What does your job entail? Planning, hosting? things as simple as making sure there is something special in a room? Why would someone get to speak with you?
VIP CONCIERGE: My responsibilities include all aspects of ensuring a VIP’s visit goes well. It can include everything from hotel and dinner reservations, pre-set amenities, entire vacation planning, shopping services and on-call requests. I work with a wide range of clientele which can include corporate executives, high profile guests, entertainment groups, meeting planners or leisure guests that have special requests.
ME: How long have you been working as a VIP and what makes a VIP Manager’s job the toughest?
VIP CONCIERGE: I’ve held the position for the past six years. During that time, I’ve learned that the toughest part of the job is striving to fulfill requests that are sometimes impossible to meet. After in-depth networking and research, sometimes the request is just simply unobtainable. Being in the hospitality industry, “no” is never an easy answer – instead you do the best you can and offer the very closest option available.
ME: What is one thing you would want all your guests to know about your brand?
VIP CONCIERGE: Hard Rock is one of the most globally recognized companies and owns the world’s greatest collection of music memorabilia. Hard Rock embodies the soul, spirit and attitude of rock. It’s lively, yet laid back, classy, yet totally casual. When you stay here, you get to live the rock star lifestyle.
ME: What is ONE thing everyone should experience while at the Hard Rock Hotel?
VIP CONCIERGE: Without question, it would be our award-winning swimming pool. Featuring a sand beach, two hot tubs, a 260-foot water slide, sand volleyball court, interactive fountains, poolside entertainment and an underwater sound system, it is the ultimate place to relax and soak up the vibe.
ME: As the VIP Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Orlando do you ever burst at the seams when you get to talk to the stars?
VIP CONCIERGE: The experience is definitely rewarding and I’ve had the honor to meet many celebrities who visit the Hard Rock Hotel each year. The art of the position, I believe, is to stifle any personal feelings and to provide a comfortable and welcoming experience for the guest, whether it’s a rock star or a leisure guest…whether it’s a banker or a baker. At Hard Rock, our motto is to love all, serve all. With the excitement that usually surrounds a celebrity, I believe it’s important that they can be themselves and relax when they arrive at their home away from home.
ME: What has been the most unimaginable experience you have been able to help a client with?
VIP CONCIERGE: I believe there is a perception that a VIP Manager deals primarily with celebrities and high profile guests. Through my years at the Hard Rock Hotel, I’ve also been involved with a variety of other guests. Some of the most rewarding have been with Make-A-Wish and other families experiencing challenging times in their lives. When they visit Universal Orlando and the Hard Rock Hotel, they are often looking for a brief escape and to play even a small part in helping them to enjoy themselves, their families and their time with us is by far the most important aspect to me.
ME: What is the best part of your job?
VIP CONCIERGE: The very best part of this job is meeting so many amazing people — from political figures, to celebrities or a family on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. Each individual, no matter who they are, comes to our hotel with a hope that they will have an amazing experience during their stay with us. I love being a part, along with my team, of the reason they walk away feeling that expectation has been met and exceeded.
The stay at the Hard Rock Hotel was amazing, the rooms beyond lavish as well as the service. While this particular concierge no longer works there, the new concierge is just as wonderful. Lavishly live travel out loud and enjoy a stay at the lavish Hard Rock Hotel.
