Are you using your air fryer right?
If you just got an air fryer you might find it a little intimidating.
Don’t worry, after a few times using it, you will get the hang of it and come to love it.
In reality, I would hope that anyone that has worked with an air fryer at any point in time will tell you ONE big Tip.
Preheat the sucker.
Although you may think your food tastes great, it is superior when the air fryer properly pre-heated and then cooked in the air fryer.
If you don’t your food will always be subpar and less than it could be.
I’ve been working with air fryers for a long time because I wrote over 275 recipes for an online brand.
Chances are, you might even have downloaded a few and not known it was me!
Do your own taste test to really understand the air fryer you own.
Most compelling evidence: the moment you taste non-preheated vs. preheated.
Once you have your air fryer, you will want to experiment slowly.
Air Frying Tip You Need
Equally as important as preheating… is nonstick spray.
A tip you want to know is always sprayed the basket with a flavorless nonstick spray.
First, I consistently use nonstick spray and have no issues.
Remember, however, on this recipe you will be working with cheese.
Second, while it won’t stick you still will have oozing cheese to clean up later.
You can sub out any of my ingredients with others that you prefer, this recipe is just a springboard to get you started.
Last, Add in peppers, or olives, sausage, etc., you get it.

However, now you know how to make these and I encourage you to double the size and change the ingredients.
Your work is going to be better than any pizza shop because it is yours.
The pure satisfaction you will gain from creating these from start to finish is huge!

INGREDIENTS
Simple Ingredients for Air Fryer Calzone pockets
We are gonna keep this simple.
You can buy all the ingredients in the store.
Of course, if you are itching to be in the kitchen a while, make your own dough.
This recipe shortcuts through the woods to get to the end result, so to speak.
No one wants to be in the kitchen all day.
I only want to cook if I have someone to clean it up, to be honest!
While you are shopping make sure to pick up refrigerated Pizza Dough, pizza sauce, red onion, capicola, pepperoni, pizza spices, and fresh mozzarella.
Remember, you can change out the spices for garlic salt, or any spices you like to taste.
Also, you can add minced garlic, white onion, peppers, etc.
For this reason, you will find these air fryer calzone pockets to be very versatile.
METHOD – Let’s Put the Air Fryer Calzone Pockets together!
This is so easy, you won’t believe it.
The hardest part is consistency in filling.
Coupled with the fact, you might want to double the size?
Of course, that is all common sense and you can make these bigger by changing up your cutter.
Woo-hoo, nothing hard here.
Let’s use those basic kitchen skills to make a kicking calzone, ready?
Calzone Dough And Filling Prep for air fryer calzone pockets
On a flat surface, place pizza dough and use a large-mouthed- glass to cut each circle.
A point often overlooked is that you will need a workspace to work on, not just the area you are cutting on.
You might want to transfer these to a dish, etc.
Stay on one side of the circle and put in a few pieces of the cap, pepperoni, cheese and a small dash of sauce (1-2 tsp)
Overfilling? Don’t Do It
Remember you have to close this sucker, so don’t overfill or it will get messy!
Seal pocket with a fork.
The over-stuffing of each pocket will result in bad sealing.
It is important to realize that the contents may ooze out into air fryer * Do not overfill.
Honestly, I can’t say this enough.
In the event that there is spillover, you will smell it and Ewwww!
Nonstick or not, the smell is nasty!
Air Fryer Time – Did you preheat yours through a cycle without anything in it?
Did you spray the basket with nonstick? That should have been done before preheating.
Place up to 4 pockets in the air fryer.
You now understand these are like hand-sized not massive right?
By all means, double the size if you like.
In the event that you love this recipe and your kids do as well, just alter it.
Big food, for parents, smaller for kids, right.
Cook 2 at a time instead.
Program Air Fryer to 400 ° 6 minutes
When timer sounds, remove, transfer to a serving platter and serve with marinara.
Get ready because the plate will be swiped out from underneath you when these make an appearance!

You can practically add anything you like on pizza to the inside.
As a side note: make sure if you are using meat that it is either deli meat or fully cooked BEFORE you put it into the pocket.
Moreover, the cooking time would not result in enough time to cook what is inside of the pocket.
Another key point to know is that you can always brown sausage ahead of time.
In reality, you can also cook the bacon ahead, or purchase bacon bits, whatever YOU want to put into your calzone!
Also, don’t forget, you can make these larger than I did, just increase the size of your dough and cut it freehand! I have done that as well!
