Summer offers so many things to just be more cheerful about. Special trips with my family, and cute little moments that the kids don’t realize that I see all create a cheerful summer. I love when the kids just do their thing and get creative without knowing it. In fact, kids come up with more ways to spread that summer cheer than you can believe and they do it on a whim.
I am all about keeping things simple, fun and delicious and my kids seem to be a lot like me. I decided to create a cool recipe that would simple satisfy their need to eat and drink all at the same time. It’s all about keeping the summer heat off and the coolness on!
As we celebrate the season of summer, I stock up on some simple favorites and from them I create great treats that the kids enjoy. Summer is about indulging in the fun, while keeping it simple and anything we do has to follow those guidelines. Lavishly live food out loud, and make sure to print the recipe for my Chocolate Cheerios™ Milkshake.
Chocolate Cheerios™ Milkshake Makes Summer Cool
Capturing the cheer of summer is as easy as slipping on a tank top and some flip-flops and just hanging out poolside. My kids love that they can sleep in to all hours, grab breakfast when they are ready, or maybe it is lunch, and then just enjoy the lazy days of summer.
Heat, humidity, thunderstorms and starry nights all keep summer simple and allow us to capture the cheer of summer.
Food Solutions To Capturing The Cheer Of Summer
Speaking of food at all hours of the day, one thing I seem to do a lot of during the summer is food shopping. My kids are growing like weeds, and they eat me out of house and home. I have to have choices in the house that allow them to self-feed at any hour.
Stock Up On Cereal
I hit the cereal aisle hard in one of my favorite large retailers, Walmart where I find all the goodness kids love boxed up and waiting to be devoured.
One of our favorite snacks is a Chocolate Cheerios™ milkshake. This combines the goodness of Chocolate flavored Cheerios™ with the wholesome goodness of milk and the coolness of ice and before you know it, a perfect snack! Are you ready for the summer of Cheerios™?
