- A trip memory might even include a song, and that song will bring you back to the fun
- Sometimes it is just lovely to look back at your memories of travel as well, it brings you to a peaceful time
And in fact, we used these simple ideas of saving travel memories that we are sharing with you today to share with them and as we adventure together and vacation together more, we just keep building up our travel portfolios and save travel memories.
1. Post Cards Are A Fabulous Way To Commemorate Travel Memories To Share
Postcards are truly an inexpensive way to save travel memories.
Postcards in fact are bountiful, however, less popular for sending via snail mail since digital has taken over but nevertheless, they are sold.
You’ll find perfect captures with markings of where you are/were and they are lightweight and easy to store, so snag a postcard next time you are traveling to keep the memory of where you were and what you were doing!
2. Buy a map that you can Mark To Save Travel Memories
There are a host of different forms of maps that you can purchase to help you commemorate your travels.
You can get maps that you scratch off the destinations, you can get a normal map and place a pin in the places you have been, or you can get dedicated sticker maps.
- Use Amazon for map purchases
- Don’t forget to stop at the local Visitor’s welcome center everywhere you go for free maps
- Print free digital maps at a print shop for your destination they are generally on the destination’s website
- AAA has travel maps if you are a member
There are so many choices, and each one will mean you don’t forget any of the places you have been.
Some people attach Polaroid pictures to destinations, so when you look at a place, you are instantly transported back to that memory.
3. Maps + Photo Boards Make Great Saved Travel Memories
As well as purchasing maps to mark your travel areas, you can also use a larger map, attach it to a photo board, and then add photos to the map, or postcards creating a map wall of your travel in the basement or game room.
This is a fun idea and it will give you some perspective on where you have yet to travel! Travel scrapbooking is great during travel hiatuses and downtime between travel and it truly is a fun hobby to start as well.
You can get maps blown up at a print shop and break them into large segments and work square by square or just make many dedicated area maps such as each different state, or country.
Commemorating travel with a map and a photo frame is an easy way to openly share your travel with others without saying anything!
Remember To Make Travel Videos Too
There’s nothing like travel videos and you’ll want to not only make them but edit them, so you can create an online digital memory that you can share with others.
We love Flexclip and we have been using Flexclip for years now. While it is feature rich the platform is still user friendly and that is what WE love.
We can crop out anything we don’t want to save timing on the footage, we can add text (for reminders) and captions and so much more, which is what makes us huge fans!
It really is my go-to online tool for turning travel memories into stunning videos. It’s a user-friendly platform that lets me create a digital scrapbook of our travel experiences. It’s amazing the mega variety of templates, including intros and outros, plus options for adding music and personal footage or photos, it simplifies video editing.
Travel videos are ideal for anyone wanting to document their journeys in a captivating way, this service offers a fun, creative way to preserve and share travel adventures. IMO—The best part about travel videos is that you can store them in the CLOUD and watch them over and over again to remember the fun you had!
4. Create a scrapbook To Save travel Memories
A scrapbook is another beautiful way to remember where you’ve been in a way that will last forever.
To make a scrapbook, buy a kit or a plain notebook and keep things such as photos, ticket stubs, and interesting (small) items that you find when you travel.
When you get back, stick these down and write notes and anecdotes about your memories and what happened when you were in a certain place.
It’s a good idea also to print off a host of photos that you can use in the book.
6. Make A Music List To Commemorate Travel Memories To Share
Music makes the world spin and lets you jiggle, wiggle, jump, and dance, and vacations and travel are made up of all of this!
Make a list of songs you heard on iTunes or wherever you listen and stream music from, and collect the music you love.
The best part about music lists is that they are digital, and take up absolutely no space in your home!
7. Create a travel blog
If you are like me, you’ll want to create a travel blog dedicated to your travel and while you don’t have to share it with the world, you can make a personal travel blog, online and share it with your family.
This way, you’ll have a digital adventure collection online and it won’t require you to take up any space in your home, counters, desks, etc., and better yet you can write it as you are on the go, so that your travel memories are fresh!
Add photos and memories and regularly update as you travel, detailing the hotels you stayed in, the things you did, and the places you visited.
8. Purchase a souvenir wherever you visit
Another great thing about traveling is the chance to stop, so why not get souvenirs wherever you go?
Some people like to make larger purchases such as jewelry or watches – you could look where to find the best GMT watches under $2,000.
However, when it comes to purchasing jewelry on a trip as a souvenir we have a pro tip, “once stung…”
Never buy any jewelry on a cruise ship because they are snakes and we can say this with full valid proof after being burned on 2 cruises by the jewelers on board!
Other Souvenirs You Might Consider Purchasing:
- fridge magnets
- bottle openers
- hats
- tees
- frames
- shot glasses
- local alcohol
Whatever you choose, make sure it’s personal to you and means something to that destination.
