Instant Pot Honey Glazed Ham
You already saw the video at the beginning, now here are the ingredients.
Who’s ready? I love how the Instant Pot creates a great tasting ham.
When I first tried making ham in the Instant Pot I was stunned at how easy it was.
My Sling for the Instant Pot is helpful too if you are really putting a larger ham in the pot.
However, I don’t advise making it so big that it gets stuck in the pot.
Now as you might have guessed the Instant Pot can only handle so big of a ham.
Make sure that your ham fits in the IP. For those making LARGE hams, chances are the Instant Pot is not going to fit your ham.
I have managed up to a 7 1/4 pound ham in my Instant Pot and not any bigger.
Make sure to see my boneless 7 1/2 pound ham IP recipe.
It’s time for an Instant Pot Honey Glazed Ham With Bone-In, let’s cook.

Keeping this simple and easy, let’s get right to the recipe so that you can create this incredible ham.
I am never disappointed with how my ham turns out when I use my Instant Pot.
Since I wanted to push the envelope so to speak, I used ham with bone-in this round.
Here is my test run. I needed to make sure that the ham would fit and it did and that the lid would close and it did.
Did it work? Absolutely.
The only thing I struggle with every time I make a ham is the size of the Instant Pot liner versus the ham.
I do bring the liner with me to the store sometimes but this time, I did not.
Always Thinking Ahead
Everything turned out fine, but the shape of the ham can be your nemesis.
Be forewarned, it won’t be the biggest ham you have ever made, you are working in contained limits.
Remember this as you choose your favorite ham size.
IF it is beyond 7 pounds or so, it may not fit and the shape of the ham matters too.
I had to move this one around to make it fit, but it did!
The Sling Thing – Instant Pot Ham Bone-In
While you do not have to make the ham with a sling in the pot, I advise it because it makes LIFTING after so much easier.
Of course, you could just dump it out that works too.
This all comes down to what you are comfortable with.
You don’t put the rack in the IP for this recipe, so I do advise the sling.
Instant Pot Ham Bone-In
Make that Foil Sling First.
Then begin prepping your ham.
Putting that ham into the foil BEFORE you start dressing it is imperative.
Then, once in the foil, go ahead and add the ham, then your honey and sugar.
I added cloves to this recipe, to see if it enhanced the flavor and it really turned out delicious.
Cloves are not always my favorite thing since I once got tricked into BITING one, total yuck.
Now I want to show you before and after.
Really the video does a great job of showing you everything you need to know.
Use the video as your helper when you are making it.
I am advising the use of foil to wrap the ham.
Why? If you don’t want to have to deal with a really messy cleanup with the honey and sugar, that would be why.
Also, I press that foil against the brown sugar and honey to keep things in place as long as possible.
Once it heats up, obviously the sugar and honey move to the base but, it does a great job keeping the sugar and honey in place until that time.
Easy is the best friend you will ever meet.
While making a ham used to be a true process of basting etc, no more.
I love how easy it is to make in the IP and never would go back to oven baking, ever!
For those of you that would prefer a boneless, smaller ham make sure to see my other recipe for a boneless IP ham.
