Finger-licking Fabulous Deviled Eggs For What?
At first as a kid, I was like, “oh my God, deviled eggs again?”
I think my mom made them all the time.
Really it was both her and Aunt B.
However, these pesky appetizers seemed to be more a staple around Easter.
I could not figure out why.
Now as an adult, I know why deviled eggs ran rampant during Easter because we dyed eggs!
In any event, how else do you use up dozens of eggs?
No one really ate a hard-boiled egg in my home, well my dad did, but that was it.
So, one of my first recipes in my Kids Cookbook was for deviled eggs.
Somehow that recipe stuck with me but evolved as time passed.
And my love of cooking has changed this recipe, fine-tuned it and I still serve them at EVERY party, gathering, and occasion!
Aunt B Loves Me and Michael Loves Her Finger-Licking Fabulous Deviled Eggs
My aunt is really special to me, she’s actually one of only a few people in my life.
When you need her she’s there.
She’s a shoulder to hug or to cry on and she listens!
Growing up, my aunt lived behind us, so I crossed the road and visited.
I spent time there while my parents traveled because I was too young to be left alone.
My Uncle would take us all around in his cool car. We’ve kept a great relationship and she’s always a text away.
With Michael’s mom passing, I’ve never been able to capture the deviled eggs he remembered.
My husband is so hard-working and small things make him so happy, so I wanted to make him some great deviled eggs.
When The Old Does Not Work – Finger Licking Fantastic is not gonna happen
So, one day, I prepared the old, tired recipe from my Kids Book Recipe, and well it was not so fabulous anymore.
Michael told me he loved Aunt B’s finger-licking fabulous deviled eggs and with that the rest is history.
Michael does not say much about cooking or foods, so this was amazing and with that, I reached out to my Aunt.
Therefore, I texted my Aunt B and she sent me her recipe, which Michael says, “her deviled eggs taste like my mom’s!”
That said, we struck a happy note and that’s how it will be forevermore!
Consequently, Aunt B’s deviled eggs became our finger-licking fabulous deviled eggs recipe we go-to!
But, as you read on, you’ll find I kicked it up a bit because variety is the truest spice of life!
Deviled Eggs When
When you have parties, large gatherings, football parties, or tailgates, finger-licking deviled eggs should make an appearance.
After Easter passes, and you’ve dyed dozens of eggs, what do you do with them? Make deviled eggs!
While I won’t tout deviled eggs as a healthy option, there are worse things one could eat, like chips, I will say it is a protein snack (well to some extent).
The recipe uses mayonnaise, so you are going to have sodium, maybe more than you want in your daily diet.
Don’t shuck off the fact though that there are nutrients in the egg white and yolk, so there is some good to be found!
Another Great Reason To Make Fabulous Deviled Eggs
The holidays are rough and for most, it often means that your budget is totally out of whack.
Deviled eggs are a rich man’s feast at a poor man’s price.
Foil cover a plate if you don’t have a nice take-along serving dish, or take a trip to the ‘used to be DOLLAR store’ and grab a plate.
Eggs are minimal in cost and the prep is fast and easy!
Throw some parsley greens on or add some crackers or a few plastic disposable forks, and the tray will look amazing.
Inexpensive, tasty, and a take-along, you checked ALL the boxes!
Tips For The Best Finger-Licking Deviled Eggs
Don’t boil eggs on the stovetop. You are sure to destroy them!
If you are into eggs that are cracked and oozing their white self over the cracks (gag) then, by all means, go stovetop in preparation!

The Instant Pot recipe for hard-boiled eggs makes deviled egg preparation easy!
Crack, Peel, and Scoop, Your Finger-licking fabulous deviled eggs are underway.
After you crack and peel each boiled egg, rinse it.
Allow the hard-boiled egg to be dried with a paper towel.
Slice the eggs on a cutting board in 1/2.
What comes next is everything.
TIP for Hard-Boiled Egg Scooping
Use a small spatula to get all of the hard-boiled yolks out.
Not only does the rubber scraper ensure that all the yolk is stripped, but it also won’t rip the egg white.
Simply put, it just moves around like it’s on oil.
Smooth and easy is how the delivery of hard-boiled yolk to the bowl might be described.
Eggs & Storage
You will want to store your deviled eggs in a nice covered tray.
Use one with a snap-on lid or more of a display tray with egg-sized compartments.
Firstly, you don’t want your whole fridge to smell like stinky-fart smelling deviled eggs.
I mean, let’s be serious, there’s nothing worse than fart smell, other than a deviled egg.
Ooooh!
Now that we are done with that discussion, deviled egg containers are also important to keep the eggs fresh and from being smooshed!
If you want to get fancy with the egg filling, then you want a deviled egg filler.
Me? I use a spoon and a scraper!
Fresh is always best!
I do suggest using fresh ingredients, because mustard that has sat in the fridge forever may have a nasty taste.
Make the eggs and serve them that day.
You can store eggs for several days prepared as aforementioned covered and in the fridge.
Amp the Recipe for Deviled Eggs, Make them Smoky Deviled Eggs
