A life time of growing up Gabe’s, shopping retail at 70% off for the home, pantry and clothing, all have served me well as I am about to embark on my newest ‘FRUGAL’ work commitment, being a media correspondent for Gabriel Brothers. The company is getting ready to celebrate the grand opening of its new, larger, Erie, PA. store on Friday, November 1, 2013 under the official name, “Gabe’s.” Yes, they did it! I, like you, have been referring to Gabriel Brothers as Gabe’s for years and the great nickname has stuck! 86,000 beautiful square feet of the best consumer savvy shopping one could ever hope for, and I get to be at the store front, line and center. This new Gabe’s store is double the size of the original Erie, PA. store, making it the chain’s largest in the US. I am giddy with thoughts of shopping in a Gabe’s this big, knowing that I can deck out my kids, pantry and home with brand name items at wickedly frugal prices. Ya Gotta Gabe’s!
My Gabe’s Story
As a college student, money became a commodity that was a bit more sparse than I would have preferred, but I could not manage to work for more than a few days a week and maintain great grades. While cool clothing was a must, the HOT PRICE Tags at most department stores were no match for my budget. I was in need of warm sweaters, boots and jeans. I can still remember, the first beige, hand-knit, high neck sweater I bought at Gabe’s. I rocked that sweater with beige boots and jeans that had the zippers on the back of the calves(do you remember those?).
Fast forward a year after school, to my engagement photo shoot taken by a photographer with amazing accolades in a bargain, brand name dress from Gabe’s. The dress was a one piece black dress, with white arms, large buttons, and some lace. The cost on the dress was only $9.99, but I felt like a million bucks when I wore it.
With kids and a husband now in the mix, life has a way of making you need things, and Gabe’s helps you fulfill those needs without unloading your coin purse. We, as most families were in need of some updates which range from new trendy clothing items to home decor. I flat out refuse to pay retail because I knew a little secret – You Gotta Gabe’s. Our neighbor up the street told me she went off to a department store and “cleaned up her crew of 4 for $800”, I choked! While that may be the norm to dress a large family, I know with a Gabe’s close by, bargains are not far behind. Retail clothing at Gabe’s is retagged with savings of up to 70%.
My kids love shopping at Gabe’s because they know the check out and pantry area is stocked full of their favorite treats. I can’t tell you how many times we have purchased bags of potato chips for $1.49 each which were originally marked at $2.99 or more. Candy bars have been .25 a piece, and great purse snacks at 3/$1. Fresh tea towels, linens, workboots, hunting clothes, bathroom accessories and more, all with unbelievable and affordable prices for the entire family.
Gabe’s is consumer savvy, trendy and made for those who can sniff a bargain out before they hit the door. You literally don’t have to do anything other than show up and your savings calculator begins! Get ready to rock a grand opening with me on Friday, November 1, as I proudly present Gabriel Brothers now officially Gabe’s in their newest, largest, store in the USA. You Gotta Gabe’s. See you in the aisles!
