Happy Cinco De Mayo! Cinco De Mayo is the equivalent of St. Patrick’s Day when it comes to drinking and partying. Cinco De Mayo happened to commemorate the anniversary of a fight for independence from French Forces in 1862 and it has become a national holiday in the United States that offers Mexican pride and heritage. Trade in that Irish Beer for a few Margaritas or Mexican Beer(Sol, Tecate, Carta Blanca, etc), and don’t eat potatoes and cabbage, gnosh on chips and salsa. Are you ready to party on May 5? Parties are always a lot of fun, but with partying comes responsibility. Do not drink and drive or drive inebriated. Remember, May 5 is not the only day of the year when it’s ‘5 O’clock somewhere’ as each day presents a new 5PM, so you don’t need to drink yourself into a hole to have a great time! According to the Traffic Safety Marketing.gov site Cinco De Mayo is cause for celebration, loads of food, parties and alcohol. More to the point, each year over the last 4 years, Cinco De Mayo and alcohol have led to tragedy as 233 people were killed in drunk driving crashes from 6P May 4th to 5:59A May 6th. This is an avoidable tragedy and we all must learn our limits. Now if you can’t resist a good party, and you really want to know your limits, technology has caught up to your partying as BACtrack created a way to accurately measure how much alcohol is in your system. If you have a smartphone and the BACtrack Mobile Breathalyzer and app, you can measure, track and understand your level of absorbed alcohol. The BACtrack Mobile Breathalyzer combines technology with Bluetooth connectivity so it syncs right to an app on your smartphone (iOS and Android). With the ZeroLine feature, you can also estimate when your BAC will return to 0.000. The device is small enough to fit in your pocket, cool enough to glow in the dark and hip enough to easily share the results with via Facebook, Twitter or text message.
Power is knowledge, so not getting behind the wheel or walking alone to your destination if your blood alcohol is elevated would be the suggestion. However, there are some that just won’t heed to that advice so if you have to drink and you are planning on getting to your next destination, how about Breathalyzing to know if you can really get there, rather than putting everyone in danger? Imagine knowing ahead of time where that buzz is going and how long until you actually pass that point of no return or when you will be back to the ZeroLine. Think of how many accidents could be avoided and how much safer you and others can be as a result of this palm-sized device. BACtrack can track your drinking habits, whenever you use the app, allowing you to see how much you drink, when you drink and when your body begins to react to alcohol. Get ready to use Bluetooth in a new way and learn more about yourself and head off problems from drinking too much alcohol.
We’ve all been there, drinking, getting buzzed, not feeling the ground, having that out of body experience, but at some point, we know our limits. What if there were a way to learn your limits ahead of time? What if you could know
My challenge was to see if this tool actually worked. I set out to test its limits. I had not drank this evening as it was a ‘school night’ but would the BACtrack actually know I did not drink? Yes in fact, look what it said to me in my screen shot above.
Your next question is: “was this hard to use and set up?” My answer to you is short, sweet and simple, “NO”. I set up the app in seconds(depends on your phone provider), and I powered the BACtrack Mobile Breathalyzer on and within seconds I knew how NOT alcohol-laden I was. My point is, if you are out drinking, do you think in your buzzed stooper you would be able to handle this technology and my answer again, “YES!”
1) Download the app – you would obviously do this before you ever left your home and you would test run it to make sure it is working
2) Sync the breathalyzer with your phone(pair it up)
3) Blow into the Breathalyzer(this is the largest challenge because blowing put 5 seconds seems like an eternity when you are trying to get this to register(lol) Within seconds you will have the results, though yours may not be what mine were above unless you were not drinking.
Let’s face it, when you start drinking, you really are not a good judge of when to stop, and this offers you a way to gauge your alcohol intake and the limits that you may want to impose on yourself. You may still want to drive, but your BACtrack Mobile Breathalyzer will tell you that it is not safe to get behind the wheel and it will also tell you how long until it could be safe for you to get behind the wheel(providing you don’t have another drop of alcohol) This technology is definitely here to save lives, both yours and the people that your intoxication could affect.
Don’t let the upcoming celebration of Cinco De Mayo and all future coming holidays go toxic and harmful to others and yourself, check out the amazing technology of the BACtrack Mobile Breathalyzer and understand the effects alcohol is having on your ability to function. Enjoy an easy carry case and the portability of this unique breathalyzing system that really does make a smartphone even smarter and the user ….genius.
