The struggle is real Y’all, if you need medications or an Epi-pen and visit hang out in warm climates. I should know, as a mom of a child with severe food and other life-threatening allergies, we always have an EPI pen and meds with us.
One of our largest struggles with hauling these medications is the need to keep them at a moderate temperature, not too hot and not too cold. Actually, this is not so easily accomplished in warm climates, beachside or poolside. I have to tell you, I am a nervous wreck as a mom who takes her son everywhere she travels. Why? What if the medicine malfunctions because of the wrong storage temperature?
My discovery of a travel necessity I am about to share with you will help you ALL summer and anytime you head to a tropical climate. While you might LOVE the warm air, medications do not. Here is how to keep your epi pen and meds cooled off while traveling!
Keep Your Epi-Pen and Meds Cooled Off While Traveling
Please note, as a mom of a child with severe and life-threatening allergies I continue to seek out the best of the best in products to help others and us out. Today’s product (IceMule Coolers) was provided, however, thoughts and usage are my own!
One thing happened a while ago. We were at an event for work and Niko’s medical bag was in the direct sun. When we needed it, the medicine was not available as it had melted. We had to leave the event and that was the end of the day for us and for him.
I never really considered that just because we had a medical bag with us, that possibly Niko was still not safe. His allergies all are life-threatening and we have minutes to react. As a mom always on the ‘edge’ of worry that something will happen, I literally experienced the anguish of not thinking safety through all the way.
Don’t fall victim to the heat of the day when you carry your precious meds with you. Perhaps you tote meltable tabs, penicillin, epi-pens, etc, then you need to know what I found that changed our world!
Meet IceMule Coolers
First, things first, this bag is totally waterproof. So many of our outings are pool and beachside so the fact that it can get splashed and not let the interior be affected rocks.
Second, unlike Niko’s current medical bag, that you see in his hand, this goes on our back (shoulders) so I have 2 hands to deal with everything else from cameras to kids!
Third, it’s construction is rugged so it takes on ALL of our adventures without issue.
Fourth – we refrigerate this for hours ahead, add in an ice pack and it keeps everything cool for up to 24 hours. Beach, hiking, biking, etc. — we just go!
Did I mention if it goes in the water while we are fishing, or a boat, it just floats?
Now, since we are headed to fly fish this summer, I think it will also be great to use for few beverages as well as Niko’s meds!
But Wait There’s A Tote TOO!
As a travel writing MOM, I simply need the most options. The Ice Mule cooler is one part, and it fits INSIDE of the Tote.
I have to admit I am rough on stuff while we are traveling, I kind of just toss things since we are always in a hurry. No challenge here, as the IceMule Coolers Tote offers heavy-duty canvas exterior and the inside is made of high-density nylon interior!
Pocket Love
There are 7 pockets and so much room. The bag is convertible, I just unsnap the inside dividers and suddenly the space increases.
Simple finds make me happy. There is not so much tech built in that I have to really figure it out. I just opened up the package and used it. Plain and simple. Now, no matter where I go, my IceMule Coolers come with me.
I am organized and Niko’s meds are safe and cool. This globetrotting gal could not be happier to share these products with you. Now go get your own and tell everyone you know!
