As your family size increases and your kids gain age, your home needs to have a great space for your family. While earlier on the kids might have spent time just in one room, that all changes. Earlier the kids needed to be supervised so the rooms they played in were always closer to you.

Consider these 3 ideas to create improved home spaces for your family, rather than a complete renovation! It’s gonna be faster, more cost-effective and truly will make a difference!

While this is really not a DIY, some of the portions of making a better home space can be. It just depends on your skill and time level! Keeping this in mind, think about the next few years, what you want, and how precious little time is.
To increase the first component of change, you will definitely want a set of helping hands.
(1) Create Improved Home Spaces – Move It For The Fastest Solution
When you are walking around your house and looking for a place to kerplunk yourself but you can’t that’s when you know you need to open up some more space! Cramped is not a fun living style and with a family, space is a necessity.
When kids are small, surprisingly the need only a small amount of space to be comfortable. However, as they grow, they require more spaces to enjoy. Consider that each child will have their own things and therefore will need a room for their possessions.
Additionally, kids need places to hang and just be. Do you have a place like that in your home? Well, that is not a hard fix, if you know who to turn to. Rather than just lots of DIY, and renovations which can take years, consider a move. Not only can it be more cost-effective but you may find more things on YOUR Personal checklist too that have been missing.
Don’t go at the move alone, it’s too task-heavy instead just find the help of a moving company. That will make your transition easier. Trust me, I know! Been there and just found these guys! We just did this and moved across Pennsylvania. We were happy to find the help of a moving company. Between my schedule and my husband’s, we had no time to take it on ourselves!
(2) Le Space
As your family grows, they begin to hone in on special skills that make them, the people they will become. Hobbies turn into careers, or hobbies turn into ways they learn to be more confident in who they are.
I always had space in my dad’s workshop with my own tools and craft accessories. Perhaps now that is why I am such a DIY Kind of gal? My crafting was supported by a space! Plus, when it came time to renovate a room or paint a dresser, I knew where to shop for the right supplies!
Consider shelving, desks, storage and tons of supplies. Paper to markers, scissors, and scrapbooks too!
Make sure to dedicate a space for craft accessories, books, charging stations (for those tech goods) and of course music. Just do what I do, hop online and search the words craft accessories and learn where to shop!
I found so much stuff for the crafting area, it is fun to browse and shop! Remember, if our kids love art, chances are it is going to be part of their life. They really need a space that helps them indulge.
(3) Safety in Your Home – Create Improved Home Spaces
Love exposed foyers? Or possibly a 2 story family room? Us too, but we never considered safety and the ages of the kids. No matter the age, kids love to run and play throughout the house. Well, our house is a home and we use it, we don’t treat it like a museum. If you are reading this I know you are the same, so you get me!
The safety of your home matters. Reconsider that 2 story family room. Kids hang on banisters and 2 stories will always be a concern. Running, tripping and other issues can result. But there is more to a banister than just the stories it covers.
Consider, the banister’s width and age. Is compliant with current building standards? Could a younger child get their head stuck between the spindles? Yep, safety first!
Don’t forget to look at all the wall sockets, light switches and paddle fans (installed). Always spend time making your home as safe as possible from the doors to the banisters and everything in between, as you can never be safety conscious enough!
