Why You’ll Love The Candy Table Labels
When it comes to setting up a party, I look for practical, solid items, that can come together and create something that looks classy, and yet the items may be unorthodox in how they are being assembled as they were never meant to be together.
I love the Dollar Tree for so many reasons and it inspires so many of my DIY projects,
Printable labels are not my thing, from setup to usage.
You’ll find that the labels I used for making the candy buckets pop, are hand-written, but don’t cringe you’ll love what I used and there are other options too!
- an inexpensive way to create a fun table filled with candy
- fully customizable to your occasion from graduations to weddings
- easy to find items to craft the DIY for the labels for the individualized buckets of candy
- use different colors to suit your style and party
- you don’t have to hand write the labels or you can
- allows you to show a bit of your fun personality
What You Need To Make Candy Table Treat Signs
I’ll preface this by telling you when I walk into the Dollar Tree I generally get lost for a while as I always have more than one DIY going on at a time and sometimes I just get overwhelmed and inspired by all the great products the Dollar Tree has.
One of my favorite things to do is use all the items I find in ways it may never have been meant for, but the way I pull my DIYs together is by being creative, and working with the intent to solve this: “how to craft a great project without spending a ton of money but still have it look good”
I can easily accomplish this with a trip to the Dollar Tree and when I can’t find what I need there, I often head over to the Home Depot.

- Chalkboard Tag Clothespins

How To Make Easy Candy Buffet Labels
Now we’ll go step by step to assemble the graduation candy table labels (the ones I will use as examples to provide inspiration for your occasions: weddings, showers, birthdays, and graduation)
Step 1: Color Coordinating Your Themed Candy Bar Or Not?
You’ll need to decide if you want to spray paint the sticks or not to match the high school colors, your bridal or baby shower colors, your birthday party theme colors, etc.
If you choose to spray paint the sticks (yard balloon sticks), you will want to spray them long before cutting.
Spray them with a paint that adheres to plastic and allows them to thoroughly dry, so you will want to do this the day before and allow that paint to set for 24 hours!
Step 2: How Many Sticks And Containers for Your Candy Table Labels?
Most importantly, you’ll need to determine how many labels you need for your candy buffet.
Once you know this, you will then begin working with the sticks that will appear in each of your candy bar buckets.
So, you’ll want to work with steps 1 & 2 long before you start this project.
Step 3: Cut The Graduation Candy Table Sticks To Size
Working with the Dollar store balloon sticks and a pair of scissors, I cut each one of the 4 packs in half, creating 8 sticks and I repeated this one more time as I had many buckets of candy on our candy table for graduation.
Step 4: The Candy Table Treat Signs 2 Ways
Since I purchased both chalkboard tags as well as chalkboard tag clothespins, I had a variety of style options.
A few of the graduation candy buffet sayings were longer so I opted to use the chalkboard tags with rope.
But you will see why I changed how I did this and just decided to glue the sign to the stick without the rope, making this step, glue the sign without the rope or attach one of the clothespin chalkboards.
But at least let me show you what NOT to do: For this process, I loosely tied the supplied rope to the larger chalkboard tag sign, I WROTE using either the chalk writer or the metallic pen) the candy label saying, and then I used the glue gun to attach the sign to the very TOP of the balloon stick. (write on the LABEL before you glue it!) Just don’t do this I showed you so you don’t do it.
Alternatively, you can use the clothespin chalkboard, I used a metallic pen, and simply wrote the candy labels play on words on the mini chalkboard and then I clipped it to the top of the straw!
Just glue the bigger chalkboard sign to the stick without the rope and it works best!
Step 5: Add A Pop Of Themed Personality To The Candy Table Labels
To further theme, the graduation candy buffet labels I used the opening at the top of each of the balloon sticks to slide in either a stick graduation balloon or stick graduation picks all purchased at the dollar store.
This is when they changed from ah to WOW in my opinion and it made each different candy bucket on the candy table stand out from the other.
But why stop there, and make those candy tags for your buffet of candy at your graduation, wedding, birthday party, bridal shower, or whatever the occasion stands out more!
Add in LED glowing bulbs for a bit more color or you can add glow sticks in those wedding candy table sayings and candy buckets or your birthday party candy buffet buckets, you get the idea.
Now you know how to make labels for candy buffet jars, buckets, containers, or whatever you choose to use!
Places I Suggest Shopping For Supplies To Make The Easy Candy Buffet Labels
You’ve got to shop wherever you can find what you need and I do that.
While most of my supplies came from the Dollar Tree as aforementioned I do shop around a lot when I am in the midst of putting together any kind of DIY, and here are my normal stops!
- Walmart
- Target
- Michaels
- Joann
- Home Depot
- Dollar General
- Five Below
- HomeGoods
When you are making DIY projects, you’ll need a general idea of what you are creating and then shop.
I buy things I may not have on my list but I use them in other ways because I don’t want to make extra trips out, and I just what to have everything at my fingertips, so I do suggest that you buy it if you see it and you can return things with your receipt if they are opened and unused!
