When I travel, I do not idly sit by and let time pass. I pass time by moving around, experiencing, doing, seeing and most of all being captivated by something everywhere I go. St. Maarten, wins my heart and affection of top places to travel.
No, it has nothing to do with destruction, rather everything to do with construction. From elevations that make you squeal from fantastic scenery, to infinity pools that just send your eyesight into overdrive a surrounding so serene, it’s unparalleled.
There’s a secluded peninsula, where a beach resort rules the roost, rocks the serenity and provides an infinity pool experience you will crave. You have to be a guest to swim here, and you will crave the surroundings when you experience them. Read on to learn where to find the indulgent infinity pool experience on a secluded peninsula in St. Maarten.
Indulgent Infinity Pool Experience On A Secluded Peninsula in St. Maarten
I wonder if St. Maarten was ready for the Vento Crew? We came, we saw and we loved our time. This is one of my favorite family photos, please note, NOT one smartphone in their hands! Mom win!
Years ago, I married this guy, Michael. We went for honeymoon in Italy and spent a few weeks with our families. What we learned about each other was invaluable insight as to how our lives would evolve. Perhaps, it even shed a little light on who I would become, a travel writer.
Day after day, we hit the pavement walking. In fact, when in Rome, we walked over 12 miles one day, scouring alleys, roads etc. We were so far from our hotel and no care in the world, yet the benefit, experiential travel before it was trendy. Go Figure.
Divi Little Bay Beach Resort
Set on a semi-private, very secluded peninsula is the gem of St. Maarten’s luxury resorts. What a beauty. Hotel rooms, multi-room suites, time shares and one very large welcoming St. Maarten family.
This destination is for those that want to get away from it all. Once here, you could basically stay at the resort and never leave. But, I ask you to go out a bit and explore. However, when you are here, there’s a lot to enjoy, and I want to share a few things with you so you can maximize that time. Ready?
I could not sit still from the time we arrived at the Divi Little Bay Beach Resort until we left. Each day I claimed a new territory for discovery. Well, that’s just me being me. Of course, I am married to a man that is exactly the same, as I told you. The two of us are like Caffeine in coffee, we jolt and bolt and walk to learn.
Discovery comes with reward. Today’s reward, the finding of the Infinity pool. Let me just explain this, I’ve experienced infinity pools, and this blows them away.
We’ve been in ones that look like the ship is in it, etc. but the view, the area, the solemness provided from the Little Divi Bay sets this leap-years apart from all others.
Walk from the front reception desk, all the way to the last building on the right. Yes, it is a small walk, but rewards are reaped not given (don’t be a Millennial!) Look to your right, there is a path between the building and the pool. Take it.
When you first arrive, this is on your left if coming down to the pool. Terraced seating and very quiet. The seats are for taking so enjoy. Then you can get into the pool, with the ladder.
Warning, when you get it, you won’t want to get out, it is incredible, exceptional and peaceful. The running waterfall, the sound of the tropical birds, just heaven on earth.
Don’t look for 100+ seats, that is NOT the situation. Do look for a few umbrellas, and a terraced patio to sit on. On the other side of the pool, a few simple chairs. Cross the bridge and go to this side to see the bay in more depth.
Either side of the pool offers exceptional views and more. The view of the bay and surrounding hillside is fabulous and the sunset happens fast so keep your eyes peeled.
Want to see down from the Infinity pool? Ok, I can show you that as well. Take a look at what we saw when we looked down.
Let’s Dive In
You saw the video at the beginning. It’s vacation, so I am just being me. NO need to be ‘all dressed up’ when I’m enjoying myself and that is what Divi Little Bay Beach Resort is about, relaxation.
I’m not a model and my makeup is off. Come on, it’s vacation. So, here’s me in the pool, showing you the surrounding area, it’s mega-boom gorgeous right? Trust me when I tell you that you will want to tell everyone about what you are visualizing, yet you want to keep it a hidden secret too. What do you do?
Capturing the feeling is almost impossible unless you are here but watch this, feel it, see it. I am trying and I hope you see this, because, it awesome for lack of a better descriptor.
The Official Bird Of St. Maarten
To the left of the pool, is the end of the bay mountain. It’s staggered by points and peaks along the edge. There, as you glance towards it, against the sunset skyline that emerges from your left to the right of the bay, is the bird.
Look, at the Brown Pelicans, lined in progression, from top of the peak to the bottom. Or for arguments’ sake bottom to top. Each ledge, perch, peak, tip, you can see a Pelican. It’s a nature shot beyond my wildest dreams. It’s what tropical stories are made of.
Then, There’s The Sunset.
It seems that the horizon has taken the sun under cover for the night, but that’s fine because in St. Maarten the next day is even more lovely than the day you are in. Ole!
Before you bid adieu to any perfect beach day, you gotta tell the sun, thank you. Respect its power. Just kidding, but pay it tribute by watching it set, as it sets on you day long.
I found the best place for a sunset on the island. As a guest of Divi Little Bay Beach Resort I sought after the best here and WOW did Divi Resorts deliver big.
Assuming, it might just be me and Michael, a sunset chasers, we escaped to the Infinity Pool by sunset. Yes, we were pretty much the only 2 there the first night, joined only by a few others an additional night.
One of the best FREE Things to do on any journey is to enjoy the sunset. As the water danced across the bay, and kisses the sun, as it settles for the day, the Infinity Pool is the capture zone.
Alas, the sunset, we got out of the pool, and then left to get ready for our night time adventures at Gizmo’s Bar and Grill. Music, drinks, food and island life just fit us well and Divi Little Beach Bay Resort caters to this.
