After purchasing multiple cars, and working with multiple dealerships (remember I have teens) my tips helped me through the whole car buying experience.
Every purchase I make teaches me a lesson. Those lessons translate into great articles!
Today, what I am about to share with you is advice that will save you time when shopping for cars!
We have used what I am about to share over and over.
Don’t forget why you are purchasing your car. Why? You might head in to purchase one vehicle and then purchase one that does not meet your checklist, just because it looked nice! Y
es, people do this! Stay focused.
What Is Your Use?
For me, a car purchase has always been around my kids. Is it big enough for hockey bags, and friends?
Will you be toting kids back and forth to3 Tips To Make Your College Dorm Room Bed More Comfortable college?
Doing a lot of DIY and requiring large saws, drills and the like to be hauled?
Make sure the car fits into your life, and your family. Always think about how you will use your car.
Find ONE dealer that offers multiple brands.
Want to buy a Chrysler, Dodge, RAM or Jeep? Or are you shopping for an Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Fiat, or Ford?
Think about their buying the power of ONE dealer that offers all those brands. If they get good deals that Local dealers must pass them on right? Absolutely.
Seek out a local dealer that offers multiple makes of cars.
Next, check out the dealer’s incentives.
While the offers may vary from make to make, sometimes the Dealer itself has its own incentive! Truly, this is the time to buy a car!
Once you learn the dealer’s incentives and how they work with customer’s you can count on this through the whole process at each brand of the vehicle branch.
Work from One Website
Seeking a few different vehicles and totally sick of hopping website to website?
Work with ONE dealer that offers multiple brands. You can input ONE online query and get some answers fast.
We did this. I actually scored a great online deal, that they could NOT match in the dealership, but absolutely provided when I accepted the online offer!
Again, it was the same dealer, I just did a bit of at-home shopping. Rather than walking around, since I knew exactly what I wanted!
Browse Inventory Online
Figure out what color you might like and what year and model.
Then get online at the dealership that offers those brands and shops. See what that dealer has in stock.
Again, submit a query if you are a serious buyer and someone WILL get back to you.
Save yourself from running all over town. Shop online first then in person once you solidify that the product IS on the lot. (trust me on this )
There are internet query specialists and they will seek the vehicle you are asking about.
Filling out a form online will save you a lot of legwork and drive time. No need to head out if the vehicle is not there right?
Test Drive Set-Up
Finally, what if you see the vehicle you want, it is in stock and you want to drive it?
Then set up your test drive time ONLINE with the dealer. If of course, you were lucky enough to find that Local dealer that has a fabulous online setup!
