There’s nothing like an air fryer to change things up in the kitchen. When its the heat of the summer no one wants to run an oven. However, if you have an air fryer, you will be able to bake and enjoy chocolate cake without the heat of an oven complicating things.
Because I was totally curious about how far I could push the limits of cooking in an air fryer, I decided to try out a boxed cake mix in the air fryer. You know what I learned? An air fryer is a very fast and efficient way to bake a cake, well air fry a cake. In fact, it was as simple as could be.
I don’t want a serving for one in a mug cake, but I do love a great air fryer cake for 2 +. You will too, because it’s sinfully easy!
I will share the brand I used to make this cake, I am sure you can improvise and buy other containers to fit the cake into the air fryer basket. Here’s how to make a chocolate cake in an air fryer!
Air Fryer Chocolate Cake
If you think there’s going to be a lot to making this cake, you are so wrong, here’s my simple ingredient list. And here’s what it looks like so you can find it in the store!
1 Cake box Mix (9.4 oz) – Follow ingredients on box
5 Tbsp. Water
2 Tbsp. of Softened Butter
6 “Pan (in mix set)
Mix all ingredients per box (Add One Extra Tbsp. of Water)
Place in Fry Basket
Program Cake setting 330 ° for 9 minutes
Remove immediately and allow to set.
Toothpick test it to make sure it’s cooked (it will be!)
PREP TIME TOTALS
Mix Cake: 2 Minutes
Bake Time: 9 Minutes
Total Time: 11 Minutes
Really there’s nothing to this. It’s fast and easy and the cake turns out great. Perhaps the biggest win is that you don’ t have to use the oven. No heat from the big oven.
