I love versatile recipes and that is how I created this particular electric pressure cooker recipe. Pork turns out perfect every time. Sometimes I make pork with cola dressing and then there are other times I switch it up. Because why? Who wants the same flavor every time they eat a recipe? Variety is the spice of life and different sodas bring about welcome change!
Rather than large pieces of meat, I created strips of pork, that is simply done by using boneless pork chops and slicing them. Rocket science here right? Not a chance. Everything I do in the kitchen is easy on the ‘to-do’ list and the result is always tasty with a side of compliments.
Before we go any further, please know that this recipe can be made in the Instant Pot (which I now do) as well as ANY electric pressure cooker. There are no steadfast rules about which pressure cooker, I am however VERY partial to the Instant Pot for it’s consistency in cooking and taste. Let’s create Pressure Cooker Dr. Pepper BBQ Pork Strips.
Pressure Cooker Dr. Pepper BBQ Pork Strips
Soda, is a tenderizer. Your meat will be fork tender and delectable, that I promise. Get creative, try any and every soda you can think of, just consider your herbs as you change things up.
To be really honest, New Year’s Eve a few years back is when I started to using this recipe. My kids hate sauerkraut and I wanted to keep the pork tradition alive.
Our compromise, a fun new spin on taste and it got rid of the sauerkraut smell and taste! Woot, a win. Now we use the recipe for big game day, all hockey games, gatherings, parties, because it is just delicious.
If you prefer Root beer use it, even ginger beer! Versatility is the spice of life right?
Apply this method of cooking and ingredients to any electric pressure cooker you own and the results will yield the same taste. If you use an Instant Pot, let me clear the recipe below for you. A lot of people have electric pressure cookers so to change things up, I just made it in a different electric pressure cooker.
