Chocolate, fresh whipped cream, a little nutty, a little sweet, a little salty, all characteristics of delicious handmade, homemade desserts.  Personally, a day off from baking, or preparing a set of desserts is what I crave almost more than the desserts.  In reality there is something wonderfully welcoming about heading out for dessert and that is just what we did as we visited our local Outback Steakhouse.  Sometimes a nice night out is just about going to grab a bite or taking the kids out for that missing piece of meal you did not have at home.  Other times we find that dessert stops are a must to fill everyone’s sweet tooth and to get those irresistible desserts that while we would not normally keep in our home, finding them out on a menu is fair game!  Recently we sampled some of the Outback Steakhouse Irresistible Desserts and there really is no other words to describe the dessert.  

As a little bonus to those following a Gluten Free Diet I have some information to share with you about the Chocolate Thunder From Down Under, just think… Gluten Free, and keep reading to find out  more about this.  Our son who has all types of severe food allergies was able to eat dessert and ordered some as well, which really made the dessert stop a blessing, as it is still possible to indulge in delicious hand-crafted desserts at The Outback Steakhouse.  You have to see the Outback Steakhouse Irresistible Desserts lineup and let your dessert wants be fulfilled without the dishes, baking trays and mess to clean up, after all that is lavishly living food out loud!

Tonight, I did not care about calories, I did not care about carbs, all I wanted was sweet fun and the Outback Steakhouse delivered! I was so ready to indulge in the Outback Steakhouse Irresistible Desserts, I simply could not wait!  Let’s start with the signature dessert, that you may or may not know is available at the Outback Steakhouse.  I guess their coaster that I snapped this photo from pretty much says it all, BLISS! Now, let me describe this chocolate-laden, hand-crafted sweet.  First and foremost, Gluten Free Foodies you can eat this brownie, it is GLUTEN FREE, there is the hidden secret you might not have known.  There are nuts in this and it contains dairy, so if those are your food allergies, you won’t be joining in, but if they are not, then DIVE On in as two of my three kids did!

Yes our  Chocolate Thunder From Down Under  was huge, because we were joining forces to attack it. While splurging on a dessert is truly a splurge, we feel better if we SPLIT it and share the love.  The Thunder From Down Under is sweet, chocolaty, and a signature sweet found on the menu as part of the Outback Steakhouse Irresistible Desserts.  I can’t tell you enough to save room from your dinners you might be eating while there, or if you are just headed out for dessert to save room in your belly cause the YUM factor is about to set in deep into your sweet cavity.

The Taste of this mountain of yum: As you begin teasing your spoon through the homemade whipped cream, which is crafted each day, at each of the Outback Steakhouse locations, you might just want to do nothing but eat mountains of this whipped cream.  The whipped cream is sweet, consistently airy, and held its form even when it sat for a whole 2 minutes, lol, before being attacked.  Atop the whipped cream were shaved chocolate, and then the vanilla ice-cream, but The Chocolate Thunder From Down Under does not stop there.  Your spoon will glide from layer to layer and suddenly you will be at the freshly baked pecan brownie.  The brownie is nutty, rich, moist, and chocolaty sweet.  The bottom of the platter offered our spoons the chance to swim in a bit of warm chocolate fudge sauce, for the perfect finish.

Now for the Limited Edition, Salted Caramel Cookie

Are you dying to see what it looks like? I have to tell you it is so delicious I had to battle to get this Salted Caramel Cookie photo’d.  We were loving this.

Our spoon could have started at the top mound of vanilla ice cream and eventually we did go back for the delectable ice cream but our spoon’s first stop had to be the cookie in this pan.  This is a Salted Caramel Cookie.  The cookie dough offers pieces of almond toffee, actual pretzels and pieces of white chocolate which dance across your taste buds.  The cookie is soft, and crunch, sweet and salty, warm and cold(the ice cream).

The Salted Caramel Cookie is only here for a short time.  The skillet can definitely can serve 2-3, if you are just sampling, but if you are going Down Under(lol) then grab an entire Salted Caramel Cookie for your mouth to devour. Make sure to get some of the freshly brewed coffee it really adds to the dessert.  Our server Al brewed a fresh carafe for us, and it was just what the Caramel Cookie ordered(ha!)
