Love is in the air. Valentine’s abroad is such a romantic time. I love Valentine’s outside of Pennsylvania. We have celebrated so many in the area, that getting out of town, is a fabulous Valentine’s gesture.
One of my favorite spots in Curacao captured my heart, my breathe and definitely is going down as the most romantic spot in Curacao. To me, Valentine’s is about a simple celebration of love. Through little moments, and small gestures, big romantic times are captured.
If you are on a cruise and headed to Curacao, or staying at a resort, hotel, or a rental property, seek where the most romantic spot is in Curacao to make it yours too. For those lucky enough to spend Valentine’s Day in Curacao, make sure to stop here and enjoy. Are you ready to learn where to find The Most Romantic and Instagrammable Love Stop In Curacao?
The Most Romantic and Instagrammable Love Stop In Curacao
There are places that paint your heart with color, love and friendship, and Curacao is one of those. From architecture to culture and really nice people, Curacao will stay with you long after you depart.
Alright, so first things first. Get off that Cruise Ship and start walking. The best of everything is not at port, it’s a small jaunt, about 1/2 mile or so beyond the beautiful hotel and all the fort walls.
A walk, will let you experience the hustle, bustle and feel of this inviting area. Outdoor shopping vendors are a long the stroll (so stop and get your stuff, their prices are great!). Continue on and your eyes will awaken.
The Queen Emma Bridge

Now that you are looking at water, you also a bridge. One I have written about before, as it is one of the masterpieces of the area and the world. It is a swinging pontoon bridge. The proper name is the Queen Emma Bridge. It closes and opens quite a few times a day and you can walk across it.
At night it is as spectacular as you would expect. Lit and beautiful reflecting the area as well. Behind the bridge, least from the port side, you see the famed colorful buildings of Willemstad, Curacao.
Stop. Look. Love. Watch. It’s all hear, something for the eyes to capture and love. It’s a gratifying time when the bridge opens because you can just stand in awe and enjoy. But there’s so much more.
Handelskade – On The Punda Side Of Willemstad
What hashtags should I use? Whatever fits the pic, but, these do work too! #Punda #Willemstad #walkingtour #curacao #Handelskade
You’ve officially begin your walking tour when you see Handelskade, the properly, vividly, painted buildings. Stand still and look. Stare. Ogle. Feel the warmth of the color and the area. Share the postcard with a post to Instagram.
I felt like I was looking at a Christmas village scene under my tree, yet in live version. Stunning. Incredible. Sharp. All words to describe the style, the feel. Yet, we are not done walking and this is not the ‘most romantic spot.’
I can tell you it is sexy, and gravitates softly on the eye, while delivery a burst of color. Enjoy. IG it and save that memory to a collection in IG for the world to see. Keep walking, let’s go, there’s more and the highlight is coming.
The beautiful area you are about to enter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Inner City and Harbor (of Willemstad) are the World Heritage site in Curacao.
TO see the area, is to understand. However, for a most in-depth tour, hire my private driver (who dozens have hired and love too, after I suggested her, Sue!) Learn about my private driver in Curacao.
In-depth, full coverage of the of the area, far and wide, is what you will learn. For the best photo spots, ask her, she’ll get you there.
Bridge Open – Mouth Agape at The Other Bridge Above
#queenjulianabridge #curacao #water #Caribbean
When the bridge opens, take a walk across the bridge. Stroll, look at the traffic above on (well not quite above, but over your left shoulder as you walk towards PUNDA) the other bridge. The Queen Juliana Bridge, it’s an incredible structure. Once across you will find what I love.
You are almost there, to what I consider the most romantic spot in Curacao. The Punda Love Heart. It’s a metal and mesh sculpture by Carlos Blaaker.
To be very specific at the end of the bridge, look left and there you will see the Punda Love Heart. My photo, shows it loaded with locks.
‘Locks of Love’?
The heart sculpture is laden with padlocks and there is a reason. You are allowed to place a lock on the sculpture locking your love together forever. Is that just so……. Yup it is! From the walk to the lock, it’s all romance. (If you did this right you are right at the Penha Building, so pop that in your GPS).
If you need more fun, and romance, there’s a bar right on the water there as well. Or across the street take a walk down the wildly painted and vividly colored roads.
I don’t refer to it as locks of love, but it is that. Locks placed on for love. Romantic, endearing and very picturesque.
It’s surreal in Curacao, the color, the water, the ambiance and the locks on the Punda Love Heart. Saunter, savor, enjoy. BE blessed with the one you are with, and lock your love. Now you know where the most romantic and Instagrammable spot is in Curacao. ~ Dana XO
