When you open up your mouth and pop in a crunchy air-fried wonton mozzarella sticks, it will go, ‘Crunch.’
My air-fried wonton mozzarella sticks are oozing with cheese and a bit of juiciness.

Oh-My-God Foodgasm! b
Maybe the best part of all is that they require simple ingredients and take so little effort to create.
From the easy prep to the super crunchy exterior, that allows the interior cheese to melt to perfection without overcooking, there’s just everything to love about this mozzarella stick recipe.
Air-Fried Wonton Mozzarella Sticks are foodgasm-worthy and you will never go back to traditional breaded cheese sticks, once you experience these.
Get ready for melted cheese squeals of delight and a big taste in a thin, crisp wrapper!
These are OUR go-to for parties, holidays, and football eats.
Air-Fried Wonton Mozzarella Sticks
There are so many reasons that I love air-fried wonton mozzarella sticks.
First, breading on traditional mozzarella sticks often leaves these nasty little crumb bits that no matter how hard you try, still stick stay around!
Plus, breading on mozzarella sticks is either really yummy or totally cardboard-like.
Perhaps the reason I best love air-fried wonton mozzarella sticks is the simplicity of the recipe and the total ROI.
Pretty much, you will see that it is a String cheese stick inside a wonton wrapper.
While there is a bit more it is so NOT hard to create air-fried wonton mozzarella sticks.
From novice cook to a pro chef, this recipe can be altered to fit everyone’s skill level and taste.
Mix up the spices, and work that air fryer, it’s time to crunch and moan while you taste!
Do you want to dip air-fried wonton mozzarella sticks or not?
When something looks this yummy does it even need to be dipped in anything?
That answer is ALL you.
The crunchy wonton wrapper that results from a light brush of olive oil against the soft, melted cheese is just like nothing else you will experience in the melted cheese realm of appetizers.
Now, if you want to get fancier, dash on spices before you air fry if you add additional brushes of oil to the exterior of the cheese-wrapped packet.
I personally LOVE a cold, bold tomato sauce, with a bit of red pepper ripped through it.
Choosing not to dip these is also a great idea because you really get to taste the flavor.
So, you are left with the choice to dip or not to dip?
In the end, it all comes down to preference and what you like.
One note: if you don’t want sauce on your floor from a party, don’t put it out!
My Affinity For Wonton Wrappers
If you’ve read my blog before, you know that I heart wonton wrappers and have used them in so many ways.
Sometimes I create shrimp with wonton wrappers, other times I make crackers for dipping and often different versions of these crazy good wrappers!
So, we’ve made these a lot.
The key to making this wonton wrapper seal properly is water.
Not tons, just fingertip water.
Keep your fingertips moist and wonton rolling is easy.
LOL, that sounds so funny, like I am rolling cigars!
You can purchase super large wonton wrappers or small ones.
I used small, but that also changes how you use your cheese.
You do have to seal them, and using oil is not a good choice.
Also, you could use a pastry brush, but I often feel that provides too much water and just something else to wash!
Don’t Go El-Cheapo On The String Cheese
Once you’ve committed to trying this recipe, I beg you to please purchase the best, purest string cheese sticks you can.
We’ve used everything from Polly-O to Frigo but, they are NOT all equal.
You’ll see what I mean when you begin making air-fried wonton mozzarella sticks and see the results with the melted or not melted cheese.
ALDI’s String cheese is NOT an option because it sucks and does not melt!
It probably is not even real cheese, we tried it with no success.
Want to learn what a good string cheese is?
Instead of me reinventing an article, I think this Huff Post article really is a tell-tale of what I would say, had I written it, LOL!
Remember this when choosing a String Cheese: just like fake parmesan cheese in a can, it’s only as good as it is REAL CHEESE.
Air-Fried wonton mozzarella sticks tips!
