I am about to share uncompromised tranquility and serenity, where beach chairs, and clear water, are just the beginning of the pristine and unique luxury resort experience.
Do you prefer a destination that offers the best of amenities, and makes it so you never have to leave, because everything you need is there?
You’ve stumbled onto travel gold with this article find as I’ll detail the Loreto, Mexico resort, located on the unspoiled waters of the Gulf of California, in Mexico’s Baja Peninsula.
Your Vacation Your Way: Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula
The Islands of Loreto luxury resort not only has fabulous amenities but it offers more: uncompromised serenity.
This luxury resort defines vacation, yet, by travel standards, it is not over-priced for what it offers, which on its own is a statement.
Here, in Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, you will find a consistently busy resort, yet it is not overpopulated, nor glorified by tourists.
In fact, it’s the perfect getaway when you are tired of jumping to the very, over-traveled and oversold Caribbean or Hawaii.
All-Inclusive or Not?
The Islands of Loreto luxury resort offers both! all-inclusive rates or room only.
With 4 restaurants (that I ate at and enjoyed) and a grocery store on-premises, you’ll have a grand time, no matter the choice.
So, you’ve already found 1 big reason why to travel to the Villa del Palmar, but there are many more!
A Shuttle To & From The Airport Makes This Trip Easy
The resort has an arranged shuttle for your convenience to and from the airport, which will be your first step to getting there, made easy!
And just so you get a feel for your first minutes, the above image shares a ride in the shuttle and a glimpse of paradise to come!
How Far Is The Villa del Palmar?
Jet off to the Islands of Loreto only a short 2-hour flight from LAX.
So depending on where you are coming from you can do the math.
I flew from Pittsburgh on day 1, walked across the street to the hotel, rested, hydrated and exercised, slept, and then walked back over the next morning to head on over to the Islands of Loreto!
However, when I am seeking the best off the beaten path, yet luxury vacation, travel time does not matter!
The flight is simple, the travel from the Islands of Loreto airport to the resort is about 35 minutes and on a very basic road (you pretty much can’t miss the area!)
Arriving at the foot gates of this resort, we drove up a large hill, and here I happily remained for a few days.
Do note: to go anywhere off the property required either a car or their bus.
Finding a travel spot to make your own is what many seek and few successfully find.

Let’s Go Poolside + Beachside
This was the bar crew while I was there, and they will take care of you and your tropical thirst!
Yes, you will find bars by the pool, not all of them, but the pools are close enough to go to the bar that is there.
And you’ll find a bar on the beach, and that unto itself is a treasure, and I’ll share more in a minute.
The pools have lounging chairs, different depths, umbrellas, and towels (rolled up means use it!)
Poolside we also had activities, such as when we made bracelets, which I was no good at, but all the ladies helped me along and we had fun!
All you need to do is transport yourself from your room to the pool!
Beachside at Villa del Palmar
So, for those that love a drink in your hand and toes in the sand, this is where it’s at!
Chairs and umbrellas are waiting to be used by you and you don’t have to go far, if you want to swim, boat, or drink!
When it’s low tide in the early morning you can mosey out so far and still be ankle-deep only.
As the day progresses you’ll enjoy fabulous bar service by David Ortiz the mixologist you have to meet! (he may or may not be there anymore as sometimes staff does change)
Humor is served up with some serious drinks like Abuelita Margarita, Coco Loco, and Easy Go Down!
Enjoy bar services and yummy eats served up the sunny side with smiles!
The Shores of the Bay of Loreto National Park (Bahía de Loreto National Park)
You’ll eye-spy fish being brought in, and dolphins, and a backdrop no dollar amount could fund.
But, do get on a charter and experience the Bay of Loreto National Park waterside, not just from the shore.
TIP: when wading in the water to the boat, wear water shoes for what’s beneath your feet may not be what you prefer!
Spending time on the water is just over-the-top incredible and the water clarity is pristine.
We came so very close to the goliath formations in the water and from afar, I had no idea what we were about to see.
Being in the heart of the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California) equals the Bahia de Loreto National Park, where the park protects the ecosystem, and you can see this through the photos and experience it when visiting.
The water is pure, clean, and so healthy. Take a look at the starfish I almost stepped on getting out of the boat onto the island we visited.
TPC Danzante Bay Golf Course at the Islands of Loerto Luxury Resort
No those rocks are markers and they are not for Dana Diane, they are for the course.
However, who could pass on a chance to share my initials with a backdrop like this?
As usual, just a bit of goofing around because is part of life and travel and who I am!
Next time I will play because I can!
The view can be yours, and so can playtime at this elegant golf site. It’s priceless and breathtaking!
Challenging? It’s one of 4 TPC International-approved golf courses.
Definitely Challenging, but you have time when you are here, so up your play!
I believe that once you see a few of the holes you will totally understand the delicate balance of landscape architecture as well as the balance of nature.
TPC Danzante Bay Golf Course is just simply stunning.
TIP: Wake early and walk the path or use a golf cart to ride the path before the players are there!
From the top tee to the shoreline, the views just will keep your eyes roving!
When you look at the resort side, this is the scenery.
The shoreline beckons you to play through then indulge in water sports.
Manicured beds, insane desert planes, and the sun all play into the beauty of the TPC Danzante Bay Course.
Make time to enjoy the Villa del Palmar SPA
Of course, in my world, luxury resorts are only as lovely as their spa.
Villa del Palmar offers a full full-service spa and incredible hydrotherapy area.
Once inside, you will be able to enjoy the stunning views from your comfortable robe, and chaise recliner on the 2nd floor of the facility.
The spa offers many services and includes a hydrotherapy pool area with warm soaking tubs, cool tubs, and more- because the spa is so private there are really no images I can share.
Tennis at the Islands of Loreto
I will bring my tennis gear next time I visit, but I will play but only early in the morning as the day gets so hot!
What a view and look at how perfect the setting is.
While I just want to practice my strokes up above the spa, I don’t believe anything could be more perfect!
When tennis is your favorite sport, play it early in the morning atop the spa.
Your views will stop you in your tracks.
The air is so pure, and the tennis area immaculate, have a look!
Great Restaurants to Dine At the Resort
You don’t have to go far to find a meal.
If you decided to cook in your room, the grocery store right on the property has what you need.
My personal favorite all the way around was Casa Mia.
I believe it is the pinnacle of Al Fresco dining and simple eats and fabulous drinks make it more enticing.
The hours vary so you do have to figure out when you can and can’t eat there, but I loved it here!
The Market restaurant (below) offers a great selection of food and I did enjoy this offering as well. It’s a buffet.
Danzante is fine dining, so you get to dress up a bit and truly savor your meal experience.
The views of the sunset here are amazing, but definitely best with a drink in hand!
Seek Out the Villa del Palmar Loreto Hammock and Spend Time
The hammock may well be the icing on the cake, well, I love the pink chairs too!
Sway, covered, in the breeze during the day or at night, and listen to the tranquility that surrounds.

Truth in Discovery of the Islands of Loreto luxury resort
Perhaps one of the last true Mexican vacation spots to remain as authentic and culturally preserved as one can hope for is what you will find on the Islands of Loreto.
No one has negative stories about this area and it’s Mexico as you want to know it.
While it is being discovered by travelers, its secret is still very quiet among those who have traveled here.
In many respects, it is as though time has swept through yet passed over this Baja destination.
Those that travel to the Islands of Loreto for the first time, just seek the destination and they don’t seek out the best luxury resort, which unto itself is a mistake.
So staying at the Villa del Palmar lets you experience the trifecta of perfection: luxury accommodations, beach, culinary. ~ Dana
