The Music Box ~ Planning A Sweet 16 The Series

 

Turning 16 is a huge milestone for kids and my daughter is hitting that milestone.  There are so many memories we have that were special from the last 16 years and I can’t wait to make so many new memories.  With this great celebration and turning of age, I wanted a special way to commemorate the occasion and Music Box Attic had the perfect way to share in my daughter’s special day and give her a gift that would be a keepsake for her to pass on to family one day. What I did not count on was the room coming to a stand still as my daughter unwrapped, and cranked the music box for the first time.  With tears in her eyes, and a smile of “I LOVE THIS” there was no more re-affirming moment that this gift touched her heart and would be the beginning of traditional piece that could be handed down from generation to generation as both a keepsake and an heirloom!

I worked directly with Boris in my  personal selection of a music box for that would celebrate her first 16 years of life! The box came to the front door, well packed, and once I opened it, inside was a specially crafted black box with gold hinges.  Who knew what was inside would stir memories, thoughts and a few tears that I did not even realize were with me!  As I slowly cracked the hinges open, I saw a beautiful, black, shiny baby grand piano sitting inside red styro packing.  I opened the piano to find a large area that could store the likes of a watch, bracelet(that is flexible-gold chain) as well as earring, and then it happened: I slowly turned the crank below and as the music began to play, I actually teared-up with memories past.  I simply can not believe that my daughter is already 16.  What I quickly knew, just based on my tears is that it is the most appropriate gift I have ever given my daughter and that it would definitely impact her and remind her of our favorite movie and time spent watching it!

The Custom Grand Wood Black Piano was in a shiny black finish, and the clear compartment housed the musical mechanism so that you can see the music churn.  The quality of the music was clear, crisp in tone and will provide you nothing but a great sound to think back to those days that have gone by quicker than you can blink! For me, this song provided memories, but if you prefer other music there are over 480 musical choices that can be inset into the musical presentation. The piano is intricately detailed, the keys have a roll top that moves, music, foot pedals, a bench, and a nook for the piano to be propped open which allows you to see the working mechanisms while not allowing debris to enter!  The piano is shiny black, beautiful and the music flows with a sensational clarity.

What I Have to Tell You

As a child, my father had purchased a special music box for me, but in the midst of moving, for lack of a case, and poor packing on my part, the one silver leg broke.  I was so happy to know that this music box has a case that makes packing it up for future moves possible and that the legs won’t break off because they can be placed into the safe keeping compartment of the red Styrofoam interior.  The piano keys have a cover that is actually able to be lifted up and down, it is nothing short of amazing as it functions like a real piano.  The photo on the website does not represent the quality of the product that you receive, as it is far superior to what you see online.  The sound, the detailed intricacies that are offered and the bench are all unbelievably realistic and make you want to sit down and play on a Baby Grand.  A roomful of adults watched my daughter open the piano and my husband put it together, and we all listened to the music which ‘tinged’ out perfectly.  Music Box Attic clearly has the best music boxes available, as represented in the one that was sent to my home! The presentation, the packaging, the clear, crisp sound and the piano are nothing short of amazing.

The size, the look, the feel and music are all perfect, elegant and appropriately fit the change of age, because somewhere over that rainbow is the future that is coming for her and this gift in every way represents the past, present and the future.  Memories are made over time, but they can be stored inside a neat, music box that will surely offer a way to cherish times well spent.
