Upon arrival, I was already intrigued by the front entrance, which was very ethnic and cultural as well as colorful and inviting.
I hoped this teaser would not be a letdown (been in plenty of those before!)
I’ve got to tell you that it just keeps getting better and better upon entering.
It’s squeaky clean (♥), brightly and festively decorated, and ample seating gets me a little giddy!
But walking inside Carlos & Mickey’s in El Paso, I knew it was more than special already, taking cues from the ambiance and seating.
Walking into a restaurant and finding ample seating generally indicates that the destination gets very busy, and true to tale, it did.
Many people need their fix of tequila to keep on going, and you can get served up here from Palomas to margaritas.
Don’t worry, Y’all, there are plenty of chips and queso to go around, and they make the largest margaritas in El Paso non-stop, so you can enjoy this just like everyone else!

I am all about enjoying my travel life, and I do that only when I arrange to visit restaurants with bars ahead of time.

She described how to make the drink a kind the bartender did not know.

I’ll be truthful one of the margaritas without an extra shot of tequila could knock you on your butt; just saying.

Big Margaritas In El Paso With A Nice Kick
The Tamarind Margarita is a fresh twist on margaritas; it is frozen, not on the rocks, and it has a nice kick or a bit of spice, whatever you want to refer to the taste you’ll experience.
It is made moments before serving and has a nice full flavor, and while it was not the largest margarita in El Paso, there was, without a doubt, generous alcohol inside the mix!
Colorful and tasty, and the simple syrup, lime, and tequila balance each other, but then there is that hot spicy kick that could take your breath away for just one minute, so sip again quickly to counter, LOL!
For those who want more than just the average margarita, try the Tamarind Margarita frozen.
The alcohol content is generous, not stingy, and they are NOT watered down oversized drinks, which really makes a difference in this sensory experience.
Served in a large draft beer mug and lovingly spiced up via the rim, the straw, and I’m pretty sure there’s the spice in the drink itself, creating a total Ka-pow of flavor!
Pear Margarita: Another Flavor Of Extra Large Margaritas In El Paso
Cool and refreshing, almost slushy-like, the cactus pear margarita goes down the hatch smoothly, almost like a slushee from a gas station stop (that’s good!)
It is freakishly fabulous!
When you want cool, frozen, and refreshing, with just a little tang, not overly sweet, this is YOUR ticket to deliciousness.

The Biggest Margaritas In El Paso: A Far Cry From Traditional Margaritas on the Rocks
First of all, please note these were so tasty that I was sipping, and before I knew it, it was ‘easy go down,’ and suddenly it disappeared!
The oversized margaritas at Los Bandidos De Carlos & Mickey’s far surpassed any margaritas I’ve experienced in my travels.
Finally, a cantina that met my passion: the love of margaritas executed perfectly.
First, there’s ice in the glass, but the ice is not the content of the ingredients, but rather a way to enhance the flavor, so there’s enough but not too much.
Second, the cocktail mixologist added alcohol to the point that it gave you that ‘fine feeling’ with a one-drink, empty stomach scenario, but without the burning of tequila coming through the mixture.
When ordering margaritas, bars often seem to make them with the idea that the tequila taste should be predominant and either add too little or too much ice, sincerely taking away from creating a tremendous large margarita.
After sipping this one, I began losing a bit of the world below my feet.
The margarita here is balanced, and there are no sweet syrupy ingredients. Instead, the proper mix of alcohol content is mixed and topped off with an American flag.
Yes, I drank the extra large El Paso margarita and sank the American flag into the ice.
The legendary selection laced with Tequila gets you at the end; just saying.. not that I would know anything about it, lol!

The menu is just the pocket that holds every food lover’s dream to come true.
First, order some delicious eats now that you have paved the way to your belly with a giant El Paso margarita.
Next, don’t be afraid to ask about other options if you don’t see them on the menu, which I did when I didn’t see shrimp in a salad!
The server was cheerful and kind and made it happen! (for reference, if you tried this in Pittsburgh, you’d get a death glare from the server cause it’s not a very friendly place)
The menu is loaded with options, and I suggest ordering before you start drinking so you can read the menu!
Try The Mega Oversized Tostadas Basket
Yes, chips and salsa come to the table, gratis, but there’s a bigger opportunity to experience the true Texas motto, “everything is bigger in Texas!” again!
So how does a cantina outdo their winning prophecy, ‘the biggest margaritas in El Paso’?
Answer: They up the ante with frickin’ full sizes tostadas, friend, and served with fiery salsa; these are where I just lost all control, and I thought that oversized margarita had me seeing things that were not real!
Each chip in the basket is a whole whopping 4” tortilla that matches the intensity of the mega margaritas and tops it by a notch or two, don’t you agree?
There are four big fried to-perfection chips in a basket.
These are a HUGE and a good thing because those margaritas are big too!
Also, I have to say I got my own shadow in this because I was sipping on those mega margaritas and didn’t believe I would publish a story about this place, but I did. Sorry, not sorry!
Alright, I’ll confess, I munched on three whole ones without remorse.
The salsa will dance around your tongue, and you will not that it is a tad fiery, so bring on the water, or the margaritas have a douse that fire.

I got a Mexican salad, and while you might be like what?
I just wanted a light meal to be an amigo to my margarita, and I wanted to indulge in the chips and tostadas!
As mentioned earlier, I asked, and I received a Tex-Mex shrimp on a bed of salad for a small upcharge and no hassle!
What made this Shrimp And Taco Salad All-Star?
The sautéed onions made rocked it to an Ah-Mazing level!
Plus, I didn’t want a bean or anything I wanted something meatless, and this was incredible!

To this day, I regretfully mourn the untimely set of events that took place during my visit to this restaurant.
While I got a second margarita, we had to leave, and I committed the granddaddy of a margarita sin.
