There is nothing more gratifuing to me than a margarita that is not only well-balanced but also oversized and I found that in El Paso!
Yes, you read that right, I foud the biggest margaritas in El Paso and I have no shame admitting that!
Where Can You Find The Biggest Margaritas in El Paso?
Don’t worry I will share those details rapdily so you can go slurp on a few and then call an UBER!
So, what I won’t do is apologize for my love of a margarita and I’ll tell you that I inhereited that from my DAD!
Whem my dad took me to dinner as a child, he had a favorite mexican resturant and when we went there he always got Margaritas and now I know why.
Generally I am not a fan of a frozen, slushy margarita, but I will tell you that the biggest margaritas in El Paso serve up some great frozen margaritas in adition to the On The Rocks Margs so new territory for me that I openly embraced!
Can I get an ole?
I visited as a guest of Visit El Paso.

Outside Los Bandidos De Carlos & Mickey’s
Upon arrival, I was already intrigued by the front entrance, very ethnic and cultural as well as colorful and inviting.
I was really hoping that this teaser was not going to be a let down (been in plenty of those before!)
I’ve got to tell you that upon entering it just keeps getting better and better.
It’s squeaky clean (♥), brightly and festively decorated, and there is ample seating, which gets me a little giddy!
You see, when I walk into a restaurant and find ample seating it generaly indicates to me that it can get very busy here.
Which I will be honest, for lunch hour it (which we arrived just shortly ahead of) it got VERY busy!
Apparntly many people need their fix of tequila to keep on going!
Quick Overview Of Suggestions Before Entering Carlos & Mickey’s
- I will suggest that if you come here, Uber!
- get dropped off or bring someone along who doesn’t drink so they can be your DD.
- come hungry
- expect to enjoy the food
- visit more than one time to try more menu items!
Unfortunatley, I had other afternnon engagemetns to tend to, or I believe that my lunch stay would have rurned into dinner as well!
Well maybe I would have ended up staying because the margaritas made me stay put in a chair LOL!
Did you know El Paso is the birthplace of Margaritas?
So what you can assume correctly, is that you will have a fun experience from the celebrated restaurant who procides the biggest margaritas in El Paso!
Plus, since I did the down and dirty, sipping and slurping for you, I can honestly say that these margaritas are done right! Balanced and perfected!
Do you feel like you stepped into a Mexican Cantina yet? You should as this is how it looks and feels in Me-he-co! Ole!
Gracias Daisy! The Story Of The Margarita!
As I started explaining, it is claimed that the birthplace of the Margarita was in El Paso.
There are multiple versions of teh story and you can believe whichever version you prefer, just know that the biggest margaritas in El Paso and the tastiest are right here at this cantina!
The Margarita Story (as told by our server)
A girl visited a bar and ordered a drink.
She described how to make the drink a kind the bartender did not know.
He asked her what her name was and she responded ‘daisy’ which translates to ‘’Margarita” in Spanish and thus the first Margarita was born.
I want to thank DAISY for making Margaritas happy your are the best! Cheers
Bring Me An Oversized Margarita Please
Not only will the Margaritas here have you craving them, but you will definitely order more than one!
With attention to both the Tequila and the consistency, these are dynamite!
I’ll be truthful one of the margaritas without an extra shot of tequila could knock you on your butt, just saying.
I love the glassware it just adds to the true Mexican inspired.
Margarita with a Bit of SPICE
The Tamarind Margarita is a fresh twist on margaritas and it is frozen not on the rocks.
It is made moments before serving and it has a nice full flavor.
Colorful, tasty, and the simply syrupe, lime and tequila blaance each other, but then there is that hot spicy kick that could for just one minute take your breaht away so sip again quickly to counter, LOL!
For those of you that want more than just the average margarita, try the Tamarind Margarita frozen.
Served up in a large draft beer mug and lovinly spiced up via the rim, the straw and I’m pretty sure there’s spice in the drink itself, creating a total Ka-pow of flavor!
The Lost bandidos De Carlos & Mickey’s PEAR Margarita
Cool and refreshing, almost slushy-like, the cactus pear margarita goes down the hatch smoothly, almost as if it was a slushee from a gas station stop (that good!)
Absolutely it is freakity fabulous!
When you want cool, frozen and refreshing, with just a little tang, not overly sweet, this is YOUR ticket to delish.
Look at how inviting it is. Go ahead and sink that flag and cheers to you for enjoying it!
There is NOTHING Traditional about the Traditonal Margarita On The Rocks
First of all, please note, these were so tasty, that I was sipping and before I knew it, it kind of was ‘easy go down’ and gone!
Then there’s my traditional on the rocks and it was hardly traditional as it far surpassed any margaritas I’ve had anywhere to date and I am as serious about my margaritas as Los Bandidos De Carlos & Mickey’s is!
I guess you can see, I drank it and sunk the American flag.
After I got done sipping this one, I do believe I began to lose a little bit of the world below my feet.
The legendary selection laced with Tequila gets you at the end, just saying.. not that I would know anything about it, lol!
The menu is just the pocket that holds every food lover’s dream about to come true.
Order up and make sure you are hungry.
I didn’t see shrimp in a salad, but all I did was ask and they made it happen!
The menu is loaded with options and I would suggest ordering before you start drinking so you can actually ‘read’ the menu!
Try The Mega Oversized Tostadas Basket
Each chip in the basket is a whole 4” tortilla!
There are four in a basket.
These are HUGE and good thing because those margaritas are big too!
Alright, I’ll confess, I munched on three whole ones in without remorse.
The salsa will dance around your tongue and on it offering a tad of fiery taste.
Bring on the water or the margaritas gotta douse that fire.
Chips and queso
Even though you will receive complimentary chips eat them and order queso and chips.
Oh for the love of triangle chips!
So I’m that girl that loves a good chip shape.
Do you know a person that searches through a potato chip bag or nacho bag to find that perfect shape or double chip or puffed like a pillow? That’s Me!
Yeah, I’ll own that with pride! The queso is mastered!
Because I am such a foodie, I had to show you those chips.
You will LOVE these I am sure, everyone at our table loved them!
When these platters came to our table all I could say was Olé!
Double chips stuck together and puffed chips and then……. the queso with the green chili peppers— divine!
Dip, dip, and dip again, make sure to swoop it all up! Fantastico!
Salad With Shrimp
I got a Mexican salad and while you might be like what?
I just wanted a light meal to be an amigo to my margarita and I wanted to indulge in the chips and tostadas!
I ordered shrimp for a small upcharge and it was a whole lot of good! The sautéed onions made me love it more!
Here are a few other dishes my friends got, just so you get to see the sensational dishes that always please.
I am sure this will be a dining experience you will never forget.
After The Food My Story Kind Of Ends
While I got a second margarita we had to leave and I committed the granddaddy of a margarita sin
I had to leave 1/3 behind. I’m so sorry Y’all but now you gotta go make up for my loss!
