Are you considering a space heater? A Portable Heating Unit? A Ceramic Tower? Whatever you call them, they will save you money, but for every reward there is always a risk. We have looked at a lot of them, and they are all made differently. Is this something many people look for?
You might be interested to know that so many people around you, those that never say a word are looking to cut their heating bills and they look for the best little space heaters they can find. We never knew this, but when we moved into our neighborhood, my one neighbor clued me in to how they kept their heating bill low and I was a bit amazed and when she pulled out her heating bill to back up her story, I was actually a little heated up at our bill(lol and pun intended). Here’s to lavishly living out loud with a cut in the heating bill and a bit of warm luxury in each room.
Many of the homes in the neighborhood have a few furnaces(2) so the bills can get pretty high, but you kind of expect that with that many appliances running right? This was not the case, in fact, our neighbors were upset, as they had moved from an apartment into this newly built house. What they were doing at night was not running their furnaces high at all, just barely running them, but each room in fact had a portable heating unit. The cost of the units were pennies on the dollar, compared to the cost of a monthly heating bill, so I decided we needed to take a look at one of these a bit more closely.
Portable Heating Units and Lower Gas Bills
There’s a room in every house, apartment, duplex, dwelling that is all too cold no matter how much heat your furnace tries to filter in, it just seems like an arctic blast. You can fight the uphill battle and load up with blankets, or you can close that room off(if you don’t need it) or you can go fist-a-cuffs with the room and win! I went to the mattresses with a room in our home and I showed it who’s boss! Laugh all you want, that room is snug-as-a-bug in a rug now!
I have found a way to save on the energy cost of heating this room, which is consistently cold and it is all in a space-saving heater. Look for a brand that you know, nothing super cheap(caution!!) Warm the room and a bit more with a little investment. The look is attractive, the package adorable, the heat sensational, and the price, is well under $100! Yep, I am heating a room with a small, sleekly designed fireplace-like space saving heater and I am not consistently running the furnace or turning the furnace up more and more just to get this room heated up! I told you I went to the mattresses, but the mattress in our case is my daughter’s bedroom and she is sleeping soundly while this churns out warm air!
Shut The Door You Don’t Live In A Barn. Well, I just liked that saying but if you close your door, the room will heat up in about 30 minutes! This heats up to a 400 square foot room, and offers 3 settings. The one setting is for just the fireplace look, which you turn on, no matter what, and then if you want more than ambiance, and you don’t want to freeze your fingers, to toes and everything in between off, you flip the switch and get a low setting which will heat that room up in about 30 minutes if you close the door! The high setting is one we have not even needed but it is available!
Risk and Reward
These are an amazing way to make an unlivable room quite temperate! Battle the cold from the inside, don’t over-pay a heating bill, economize with this investment and get warmed up to the idea of cheaper heating bills, and warmers rooms! Snuggle Up it’s time to get heated! Remember, to exercise caution, this does get warm to touch, and nothing should EVER come in contact with the heating unit, or it could result in fire. You need to take precautions when running this and really remember, it is not a decoration alone, it is heating a room! Never run appliance unattended. Do warm up to the thought that the furnace may run a bit less, or it might take the nip out of a cold room. Remember just because these are marked STABLE, does not mean they won’t tilt, fall, tumble, etc. In addition, the warmth on the face of the unit can leave a burn and children and pets should NEVER play around these units. Leaving these powered in for hours can create the cord to become warm, please pay attention.
There of course are always risks and rewards with technology, you need to decide the trade off, the risk and if you want to save money. Many people use these daily to keep warm and cut their bills, but do think of your lifestyle, your family and the rooms these will be placed in. Once you consider all your options and of course safety, you can Lavishly live warmth out loud with a bit of luxury from a portable heater!
